How Do You Use Quilting to Chase Away the Winter Blues?

As the weather gets chilly here in New England, my nesting instinct kicks in.  I think of cooking warm soups and stews, making sure the wood pile is sufficiently stocked, and cuddling in the warmth and comfort of my quilts–both those already in my home and those yet to be created.

And I start designing and planning projects to work on, projects that will fill me with happiness plus wile away the hours in the short days and cold months ahead.  Even in the 21st century, I like a little good old fashioned hunkering down with a quilt project to keep me warm and happy.

How about you? In the December 2013/January 2014 issue of Quilting Arts Magazine we asked readers, "How do you use quilting to chase away the winter blues?" Let us know your thoughts by adding a comment here by Dec. 2 and we may include them in the February/March issue. Please include your name and town/state, too.

We look forward to hearing from you!
