The Number 14 (and a Fabric Giveaway!)

I've decided that the number 14 is very romantic. Well, it's at least romantic to me. And no, it's not because February 14th is Valentine's Day (though that is what got me thinking about it in the first place). It's romantic for many more reasons than that!

First of all, my wedding anniversary is on April 14th. That alone makes the number 14 romantic and special. Second, through some strange coincidence–which I'm sure my husband appreciates because it makes important dates so much easier to remember–my birthday is on July 14th. (Okay, I realize that isn't actually romantic so much as it is kind of cool, but I'll take it.) Then, of course, there are 14 lines in a sonnet, that poetic form so often dedicated to the subject of love and romance ("Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?"). And while we're speaking of the arts, let's not forget Beethoven's Piano Sonata no. 14, more commonly known as "Moonlight Sonata." I mean, really, what is more romantic than moonlight?

All right, I'll spare you some of my more questionable examples (e.g., "Fourteen days is equal to two weeks, and Two Weeks Notice is the name of a romantic comedy!) and instead get to the point. It's time for a Valentine's Day fabric giveaway! And really, what would you love more than this Moda fabric designed by Mary Jane Butters?

All you have to do is tell me about a number that is particularly significant to you, and you'll have a chance to win! With this being a Valentine's Day giveaway, I'll announce the winner on the day itself: Thursday, February 14th. Don't forget to check back to see if you won!

Happy (early) Valentine's Day!

  1. My husband and I both have a number 10 birthday and it just so happened to be the date of our very first real date. We consider it our lucky number as well as a “romantic” one. Thanks for the give-away for the Mary Jane Butters fabulous fabric.

  2. I am partial to the number 10, because I was born in the 10th month, and so were my two children. My husband, sadly, was not born in the 10th month, but we still acknowledge him since his birthdate is the 10th day of the non-10th month that he was born in.

  3. My favorite numbers are 8 and 9, my husband and I got engaged on 8/8/08. We would have gotten married on 9/9/09 but it was in the middle of the week so we opted for 9/19/09 which was also my grandparents anniversary. We were so happy to share the day with them.

  4. My very special number is 25 – my first date was August 25th and we were married one year to the day of our first date!!! My dear sweet husband passed away suddenly 2 years ago – but when it came to special things – 25 was our number – and thru the many moves we made in the many years we were together we always had a 25 in our phone number – Thanks for this wonderful memory!!!

  5. Lower number here. -3- it is the number of sons, number of daughter in laws, number of children each of our sons have, 3 granddaughters, my husband was born in 53. It has been lucky for me. Thank you for the chance at such a neat prize. Happy Valentines to all.

  7. The number 22 is special to me. We had been married nearly ten years and were without children, not due to lack of trying. We got a phone call on a Monday night and two days later, Nov. 22, 34 years ago, we picked up our beautiful baby daughter. We celebrate her “special day” every year! Of course, then we got lucky and I had her sister! We have led a charmed life!

  8. The number SEVEN has always been special to me. I graduated 7th in my high school class of one hundred and SEVENty SEVEN. I was SEVENteen at the time.
Also SEVEN is a spiritual number and is sometimes called “the perfect number”

  9. Seven feels like a purple number. My mom’s birthday is on a 7 and her favorite flower is violets. I was married on a 7th had lilacs at my wedding…so it’s 7 for me.

  10. 3 is my number…..everything in my life surrounds 3 …it’s my birthday month..my birthday day…the year can be divided by 3 …I have 3 children… 3 grandchildren… 3 sisters… I’m married to hubby #3….and that’s just me…!…I’d love to win something for Valentines =]

  11. Nr 9, according to Numerology , when I count THE numbers of THE letters of my name it’s 9 and when I count THE numbers of my birthdate it’s 9
    So defenitely 9

  12. Your post caused me to reflect on a few numbers I like, and I realized that for me it’s 37. I left a bad relationship and went back to university when I was 37, and stayed on until I got my Ph.D. Now, as a teacher, whenever I need a random number to illustrate a point on the board, I write – you guessed it – 37! When I rejoined Weight Watchers, I had 37 pounds to lose to get back to my goal! (And I’m getting close) The numerals 3 and 7 appear in all my significant numbers somewhere – house number, phone number, etc. It’s just the random (or maybe not so random) number I gravitate to. Oh, and my mom lives 37 miles away – I just clocked it on the odometer last week!

  13. The number 5…May my birthday month, my goal is to make at least 5 quilts a year (which I’ve managed since starting back up quilting last year) and most of all I’m the middle child and 5 is the middle!

  14. 29. My beautiful boy with autism was born on the 29th, and his birthday has been my email addy for many years. It’s also the day on which my husband and I were married, and the date of my father’s birthday. Thanks for the opportunity to win the fabric!

  15. I like numbers that go in a sequence of some sort. Three of my children have birthdays that have cool sequences. I also prefer odd numbers. Not sure why but they make me happy. πŸ˜‰

  16. Five is my number. My husband and I were married in 1992, both of us for the second time. He has three beautiful daughters and our priority was to buy a house large enough for us to create a new stable, loving, family. In order to do that, I never got an engagemrnt ring and we settled for a small wedding and simple gold wedding bands. On the Christmas Eve of our fifth year of marriage, we sat by the tree with a glass of wine to open one present each. He put Carly Simon’s My Roamnce song on the CD palyer and handed me a tiny box. In it was a sparkling , beautiful engagement
ring. I was crying as we danced to that song. It’s a night I will never forget.

  17. Four (4) is a good number as my 3 sisters and I are known in our hometown as the 4 quilting sisters….and we all have our own and uniques style, and we exchange gifts or projects, well we need to make 4, one for each.

  18. Thirteen has always been my favorite number. I think it’s because I was born on a thirteenth and my mother told me that because of that, it’s a lucky number for me. Heh. Don’t really believe in that stuff; but, it is the number I choose the most.

  19. My favorite number is 7. Since I was a young girl it has been a number that has felt lucky to me. Today is Feb. 7 and in seven more days will be Valentine’s Day. Maybe I’ll get lucky this time?

  20. I love the number 2. Things are always better in pairs! Thanks for the chance to win a great bundle of fabric. Who knows, perhaps I could make two special gifts if I won!

  21. My favorite movie is 27 dresses so the number 27 is for me. My first grandchild was born on the 27th. What a wonderful day that was. So 27 always makes me think of her and all the love, joy, and pleasure she brings into my life daily.

  22. 1 is the loneliest number…I love your wonderful take on the number 14, I usually try to ignore valentines day because its depressing for single people. πŸ™ Number 1 is my lucky number, because it stands for me alone being able to take on all challenges I am confronted with! Oh…wonderful giveaway! lol! πŸ™‚

  23. 17… My birthday is the 17th… I graduated high school when I was 17.. it seems to continually pop up as a significant number in my life. It brings me luck πŸ™‚ Thanks for the opportunity to win !

  24. 24 is the magic number in my house. We get married on the 24th of July and my birthday is on the 24th of May. As you said it makes it easier for Hubby to remember the lady in his life.

  25. I’ve always loved the number 9 – it’s the perfect number! Remember learning your nine times table, and all the answers added up to 9. 9×2=18 1+8=9
    9×9=81 8+1=9
    It was magical!

  26. I have a number of special numbers, but the most special would have to be 17. The love of my life and I had our first date on the 17th of October, we got engaged on the 17th of January and were married on the 17th of June. Sadly, he was taken from this world too soon, but those dates are always special days for me, and will be until the time comes for me to join him.

  27. Thirteen, no question.
It is my husbands fav number (on all his baseball team shirts, etc.)
    and now it is mine.
Before we met, he was at a psychic reading (under some duress, they needed one more person) and the woman told him that the he was going to meet someone and their name would start with M. He thought no more about it. But we met about a year later.
My name is Mary, starts with M, the 13th letter of the alphabet. His friend reminded him about the psychic prediction, and by golly it came true.
And so now 13 is my favorite number as well.

  28. I’m with you on 14. My anniversary is May 14th, and this year it will be our 30th – doesn’t get much luckier than that! Many thanks for the giveaway!

  29. Our number is 29. My mother, father, myself, my husband, our daughter and her husband all were born on the 29th. My son is included in that, he was born at 3:29am, his grandma’s birthday.

  30. Well, I guess the number 3. It is a multiplier in lots of significant events in my life. I was born on April 15 (3×5), I was married on Aug 21 (3×7), my oldest daughter was born on June 18 (3×6) and my youngest daughter was born on Oct 9 (3×3). Now, if I could win the lottery based on the number 3 … but I will have to settle for the beautiful stack of fabric by Mary Jane Butters (3 words in her name)! πŸ˜‰

  31. My favorite number is 5. 1 (one husband) + 4 (four kids) = 5. My anniversary is on May 5 and my birthday is on May 25. I have 5 fingers on each hand, to better sew with. 5 pieces of chocolate are nice, but a ring with 5 diamonds is nicer. 5 yards of material would be fun to win and then to create a journal quilt that incorporates all of the above would be great. I hope I win!

  32. My number is 15 – I was 15 when I got my drivers permit, 10 years later on June 15th, I got my Locomotive Engineers license and have been driving trains since then. This job funds my quilting passion!!!

  33. I love the number 3. My birthday, the number of children we have, and the number of years my husband and I dated before we got married. Also my anniversary and birth month is divisible by 3.

  34. Number 3 is my favorite number just because I have 3 kids. Oh, and I like the curvature when writing the number 3; silly but true. Thanks sew much for this chance to win!

  35. I’ve always considered 7 my lucky number – my dad nicknamed me after #7 Mickey Mantle (he wanted another boy, but 5 out of 7 children were girls, including me).

  36. I’ve always considered 7 my lucky number – my dad nicknamed me after #7 Mickey Mantle (he wanted another boy, but 5 out of 7 children were girls, including me).

  37. For us it’s 24. Hubby’s birthday, our anniversary and son’s birthday. My birthday is 8/3. So he multiplies that one. I’m sure there’s some fun number thing going on!

  39. My number is 15, we were married on April 15 – yes tax day. I wanted to get married on April 14, but that was a Friday and my mother said no one gets married on a Friday. That was 35 years ago and my parents were paying for everything. My parents were married on December 15 and they have both been gone for over 25 years, so it worked out in the end.

  40. My significant number is 5. My birthday and my sister’s are on the 5th. I have 5 people in my immediate family. I grew up next to 5th ave. I have been married 15 years this coming April. Even my husband and children have birthday spaced five days apart–makes for a hectic party schedule. πŸ™‚
    Thanks!

  41. I have several favorite numbers but at the moment, I think #9 is on top. Its my son’s soccer jersey number and soccer season is about to start up. I foresee quite a bit of “Go #9!” in my future!

  42. 56 is my favorite number at the moment because both my husband & myself were born in 1956 & are 56 years old at the moment. Would love to win & create with this fabric. Thanks for the chance. Sue

  44. 28 is big in our family it is the date of my birthday and my husband decided to get married on the 28th too so he could only have one date to remember. Both are separate months but right next to each other! So far after 30 years this has worked for him!

  46. My family is very sports oriented. The number 13 has always been “our” number. My husband’s number on his softball jersey (starting 35 years ago). Our daughter’s softball number (25 years ago). Both of our grandson’s have/had that number on their baseball teams. Currently, one grandson plays on a traveling team for which I have made many quilted items– “Ziggy bags” for holding all the medical items for the team. Mondo bags for their moms. And currently I am designing a quilted “scroll” for each boy to keep and display all the souvenir pins they collect at tournaments. Needless to say, the first one for my grandson will have the number 13 prominently embroidered!

  47. 26 is my lucky number. My husband and I met on Sept 26. 7 years later were were married on Sept 26 and this year we will celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary

  48. The number 5 has always been my favorite number. Recently, on January 15, my dear son and his fiancΓ© had a son, Charles William V, or Quinn for short, with so many ahead of him. Quinn is Gaelic for five. And he was born at 5 pm on the 15th! So five remains my favorite number, thanks to Quinn!

  49. For many people no 13 is associated with bad luck, ESP when it falls on a Friday. For me 13 combined with Friday. First my son was born on Friday july 13th I meet my husband on a blind date on valentines day but we got married on Friday 13 in aug. I started my probation job 10 years ago on oct 13th. My 3 year old was born may 13th. And finally this year after immigrating to canada without jobs, my hubby started work in aug 13th. – on our wedding anniversary so for me 13th number is lucky esp Friday 13th and full of memories. Maybe as a new quilter, my luck will continue and win this competition with no 13. Thanks bron

  50. I love these prime numbers: 3, 5, 7, 11, 17, 19, 2003.. I met my husband in November, our 11th month. He asked me to marry him in March, our 3rd month. We married May (our fifth month) on the 17th of 2003.
My birthday is the 19th of a non prime number month. And I’ve always like the number 7: 7 M&Ms, 7 minutes early, 7 minutes of exercise, 7 miles is less than 10 miles but only by 3.
    This is fun. Thank you.

  51. 22 is the number of inches of snow that fell on my corner of the world in last night’s blizzard. And 22 is the number of inches of snow I now need to shovel. Some fun new fabrics to work with would make the rest of the winter much more interesting.

  52. My favorite number is 14 because that too is a special anniversary for me. It is wonderful to be able to connect a number to a special event. We try to always do a special event on the 14th of each month. Family comes first for me so I love to have the children over and just spend time together. I am lucky the my daughter in laws both are learning to quilt so much of our get togetherness are meals and quilting. I am a very lucky lady!

  53. The number 16 is important to me. The date of my birthday, the date of my engagement and was to be the date we were to get married but due to it falling in the week we decided to change the marriage date to the 19th so we could get married on the weekend. And I always pick the number 16 on my lottery tickets and once I did win $250.00 by useing that number. So to me #16 is allways my winning number in life. Thanks for the chance to enter such a great givaway. conn_and_vans_mom(at)yahoo(dot)com

  54. Mine has nothing to do with romance but share some of the sames dates as Michelle in my family. April 14th and July 14th, these dates are my mom’s birthday and the day my father died. And then we have the 20th. Three of my family members birthdays are on the 20th, my husband’s in August, my father-in-law in November, and my father-in-law’s mother in December. Thanks for the give away!

  56. The number one is probably my favorite. It used to be that One was the loneliest number, as sung by the Beatles, but times are changing and One is very important to the way we share the world with so many. Without the One how would things evolve or change in this fast moving world. It only takes One to be the difference the World needs. I am only One to some but a million to others. To my daughter and husband I am the One that is needed to make us whole. What could matter more? and then you reach the age where being One is pretty darn amazing in this world. I was made to be ME, the One that was created unique.

  58. 13 is a good number for me. It’s my anniversary date and that ‘s how many letters I have for my first and last name. However 14 is also my date of birth one month behind yours I might add. :^)

  59. Seven has always been my favorite number. I met my husband on the seventh day of the seventh month in 79! Seven is also the typical number of projects I am dying to do at the same time!

  60. The best number is the number 1. It signifies the start of a new year, month, or week. It is something that we get to look forward to . A new beginning. Who doesn’t like new beginnings? It also reminds me that I am number 1 in the eyes of that special person.

  61. The number 22 is very significant to me. My mom was born on Oct. 22nd…she died on Aug. 22nd…I was married when I was 22 and had my second son when I was 22. πŸ™‚ Lots of adventures for me with the number 22. πŸ˜€

  62. The number 8 is significant to me as it’s the month I met my husband and also the month we married. The marriage happened a few years later. He is truly my soul mate.

  63. my number is 21!
my first husband and present husband were BOTH born on the 21st ((same month Feb/same year..btw)) I got married to hubby now on March 21st;7,7,7 sums up to 21;I moved into this house on the 21st of Dec ((day loan closed on mortgage)) on 12/21/2007..12 transposed is 21..and the 7 in 2007 goes into 21..I try to put an element of 21 in my quilts whether its part of the pattern,or part of the measurement…hope and pray I win <3 bless you!!!

  64. My favorite number is 1 for 2 reasons: first it is my birthday and second – my oldest son was born on my birthday. I love sharing a birthday with my son – my birthday baby.

  65. For me, it’s all about #33. Odd numbers have always appealed to me because they seem happier and quirkier than their uptight even brethren. No matching set, no symmetry–a cluster of fun challenges to be embraced! 33 stands out for me because of all the odd numbers, 3 seems like THE happiest number, and when you double it, you double the joy! I had signs way back when that 33 would always be my lucky number–33 was Steve Avery’s number when the Braves were awesome, 33 was on the label of beer that was always on special when I was a broke college student (yay!), and I was 33 when I got one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. I’ve never purchased a lottery ticket, but if I ever do, you can bet that 33 will most definitely be one of the numbers!

  66. Four is a significant number for me. My first child was born on the 4th day of the month and 4 years later my second child was born on the 4th day of the month.

  67. My best number is 29. Me and my husband decided for a date he could not forget so we married on Feb 29th, a leap year in 1996. He only has to remember our anniversary once every 4 years…guess what? He asks me every year if it is leap year yet! I will place these fabrics in a lap quilt for our home if I am lucky to win. Thanks for the give away chance.

  68. Number 7. I have always believed it was my “lucky” number. My baby is coincidentally 7 this year. My middle child finally slept through te night when he was 7. I’m stretching but it’s always been my favorite. πŸ™‚

  69. Number 11 , it has many reasons …some not not so happy ,,,,but on October 11, last year after 3 years of being a widow I found myself able to love a man ,,,and my sweetheart is such a huge blessing in my life….I look forward to celebrating every 11th of the month with him and knowing that we are both blessed that at our age we can live and love in Paradise , the Outer Banks doing what we want to in our lives

  70. I’d have to go with the number 7! My birthday is the 7th day of its month, and my husband and I were married in the 7th month (several years after we started dating in the 7th month!)

  71. 14 special number? You bet, it was the day we got engaged,so my husband and I celebrate our engagement date. It was also the special day in 2005 when I was in hospital having suffered a mild heart attach that my husband presented me with a gold bracelet to mark the special day. So this year it will be 58 Feb. 14th days to celebrate. Wonder what he’ll do for this one? stitchgeek.

  72. October 28th has always been a favorite; it’s my birthday. On my last birthday, my husband had a serious medical event. That date is even more significant now, because I got a wonderful gift. Him!!!

  73. I think 6 is one of my favorites….I have 6 beautiful grandchildren that keep me MORE than busy and I’d love to make something for them from this fabric…thanks

  74. The number 7. When my boy was born he weighed 7 lbs. 7 ozs. . We were stationed in Japan and all the nurse techs were Japanese. They kept saying what a lucky boy he would be because he weighed 7,7. 7 is a lucky number in Japan.

  75. The number 5 is significant to me – I was married on the 5th, my son was born on the 5th, and my father’s birthday is on the 5th. Through the years, 5 has been my lucky number.

  76. I love the number 4……I was born on Sept.4, my only Grandson was born on Oct.4 and it is a beautiful even number. Also part of 14. I would love to win the fabric 4 sure!

  77. my fav number is 6. It’s the number that’s left out of my life. My girls were born in the 5th month, my husband’s birthdate is the 7th. I was born in the 9th month. Our wedding month is the 8th. So to make it all complete I always use 6 as my lucky number.

  78. The number 16 has always been a happy number for me. Besides “sweet sixteen” which is a lovely coming of age time, my son was born on the 16th of June. Plus 16 blocks makes a nice lap quilt! 16 makes me feel good!

  79. Not being a number person, this really made me think. However, I decided on 6. With 4 children our family was 6 people. Even now, with them all having families of their own, I cook for 6 (the freezer is a wonderful thing) and think in terms of a family of 6.

  80. For me it’s 21. I love that because that’s the day of our anniversary (my husband & I), and it’s also the first day of Spring! Who couldn’t love that, you know?

Thanks for putting up such a fab give away (I’m trying to build my nearly non existent fabric stash….long story!) πŸ˜€

  81. I have many favorable numbers for different reasons, but the top of this list is 2. Two represents my husband and me. My better half supports me in all my endeavors, rounds my corners and helps soften my rough edges. Together we are one.

  82. The number 6 has very strangely popped up, constantly, all my life!!
Addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, anniversary… Everywhere!!
Thank you for the opportunity for Mary Jane Butters’ awesome fabric!… And a fun question!
    Pat T.

  83. Try as I may, I don’t think I have any special number….my birthday was a favorite number of mine for a long time (5) and I love Beethoven’s 5th… Then my children were all due and born on the 10th (except my oldest who took longer to prep herself to “come out”, there were also special birthdays on the 4th (my mother and special friends)…. Thanks for sharing your special number, it may bring me luck! πŸ™‚
    Jackie

  84. 24 – December 24 My first son was born. April 24, my second son was born.
December 24 was the birthday of my sister in law (rip)and my grandmother (rip) who I miss all the time.
its 4×6 which is the exact number of squares I use to make baby blankets.

  85. I have always been fond of the number 2, but the numbers 3, 5, and 7 have followed me my whole life. I have never had a phone number without these numbers in it. They also make a great ratio for sizing projects and they are each 2 numbers a part. πŸ˜‰

  86. Fourteen is my favorite number , too because it is Flag Day, June 14 when both my parents and my wedding anniversary. I love the fact that more people show their patriotic spirit if flying their flags on our anniversary, especially to help my husband remember our anniversary!

  87. I love the number 8 because it is the day in August, (the 8th month) in 1988 that I met my husband. We married Dec 28, 1988. So, the number 8 is the best!!!
    Ann

  88. Many years ago when I was young I raced sports cars and my number was 13. The first time I raced a car with another number I ended up in the hospital and in a back brace for six months. Needless to say, I requested 13 when I was able to race again.

  89. I like the number 6…it’s been that for so long…since I was a kid. I’m always trying to find a way to get 6 into the picture when I’m dealing with numbers. It often is my lucky number.

  90. 23! Because it’s my birthdate and it’s a prime number and it’s cool how the 2 and the 3 are sequential. It’s the only prime number up to 10,000 that does that other than it’s big sister 4567. πŸ™‚ I’m a geek with numbers.

  91. Valentines Day is my wedding annversary. We even got married in Vegas! It was a sight to see all the brides and grooms walking around that day. Some say it’s cheesy, but for us it was very romantic and the best day. So with that, the number 14 will always be my favorite number . Thanks for the chance to win!

  92. 72. …. Odd? Not really. The best thing in my life happened in ’72. I married my wonderful husband just days after I turned 18. Just celebrated our 40th year of being newlyweds. 40 is a good number too, but it all started in 72. Valentines day is every day if you marry your best friend.

  93. Two numbers stand out to me. Ten for my birthday and my husband’s on the 10th and for October when our son was born. Also, 29 for my parents’ wedding on June 29 and for my son’s birth on October 29. Both of those events affected my life in a big way.

  94. I like the number 17. It is my husband and I day we started dating and the day we got married. which are both ramantic to us. Thanks for the give-away for the awesome fabric.

  95. The number 19 is my favorite number as on April 19, 2002, my husband had a hemorrhagic stroke and survived! Then, on December 19, 2006, I had a stroke, and survived! We celebrate our “birthdays” every year and enjoy every day together. So you see, there is no way that 19 cannot be our favorite number.

  96. My favorite number these days is 5, the number of grandchildren with whom my two sons have blessed me. So far, 2 have quilts I made for them, 1 has two wall or play quilts in designs she requested. This bundle would be great as a quilt for another of the grand daughters. Hoping I win!

  97. I’ve always liked the number 7. I memorized the multiples of 7 first in school and could recite multiples of 7 up to 700 in less than a minute. If I ever play the lottery there has to be a 7 in it!

  98. What a great idea! I’d love some fabric for my church sewing group. We make quilts and other things for charity every Monday morning. My favorite number is 1 which always reminds me that Christ should be my number 1 because he gave his life for me.

  99. The number 4 is greatly significant to me: married 4 months and got pregnant, 4 months after second child got pregnant, 4 months after surgery got pregnant with 4th child and 4 months after her birth got pregnant with 5th. LOL Something about that number 4!!

  100. My lucky number would be thirteen. I was born on a
Friday the 13th in March by choice of my mother. I was also married on the 31st of March as 13 was reversed. Love Moda fabric!!!

  101. I like the number 5. Turning 5 is when I gained some independence and learned there was more out in the world besides my family. And 5 is an easy number to keep track of and multiply. It’s an odd number and that is attractive to me, too. I don;t really try to figure out why I do or don’t like certain things, I just tend to go along with my head and heart on those things.

  102. Mine is 8 because of the 8th month of the year is when my son was born and is also the month my husband & I, my brother & his wife, & my cousin & her husband were all married.

  103. The number two. You and me, BFFs, husband and wife, the two wonderful sons that I have and my two terrific daughter-in-laws. It’s an even number…no odd man (or woman) out! Everyone is included.

  104. I like 14 too…My birthday; my childhood friend’s birthday; the due date for my first child (but he decided to wait another week) and my second son’s birthday is February 14

  105. Number 27! My birthday is August 27th. My first born son was also born on August 27th. Unfortunately my mom died on August 27th also (I’ll take that up with her when we meet again!). My best friends birthday is on a 27th. I can always count on something happening on the 27th!

  106. The number 2 is special as it is the birthday in each of our birthday months. My husband’s softball number was also 2. Plus there’s so many ways to spell it: two, to or too! Besides, 2 chocolates are always better than 1!

  107. For me it’s The number 6. I was born in the 6th-month in the year 1966. I Met my darling husband on 6/6 and we were married, 6 months later on the 6th …Which just happened to be the same day as my Parent’s 26th anniversary. πŸ™‚

  108. Hey Michelle, My birthday is a day after yours on July 15th but I do believe I am just a bit older than you, Ha! As for a special number, I have always used the number 6 but I cannot remember why I started using that particular number (remember my “older than you” statement?). I really should pick 20 because that’s the day in September my daughter was born (many years ago) and over the years she has become such a blessing to our family. Yep, changing my favorite to 20 as of now. Thanks for making me think about this!

  109. The number 9 is my favorite number. My husband & I were both born in the 9th month. Our area code has two 9s in it. I love 9 inch quilt blocks because they’re divisible by 3 and 4 so there’s lots of blocks you can mix and match at that size.

  110. I love the month of January so I guess #1 would be my favorite number. In January, I have five immediate family birthdays, Granddaughter on the 10th, Son on the 13th, Nephew on the 23rd, Dad on the 26th and Grandson on the 27th. Also I lost my Dad a year ago on the 25th and 16yrs ago I lost my mohter-in-law on the 28th. So #1 is full of happy memories and sad ones too. πŸ™‚

  111. Hi Michelle,

I’ve always been partial to the number 8. It appears several times in my SSN. It has also been a winning number once in while. I like it because it appears infinite. Even better, it rhymes with a lot of words like, mate, fate, rate, hate, bait, and on and on. There are also 8 eights in a yard of fabric and it is easily divisible. I think the number 8 is great!

    Nancy

  112. My favorite number is 108. I like that it has an ancient significance in many cultures around the word, “The individual numbers 1, 0, and 8 represent one thing, nothing, and everything (infinity).”
I am also quite partial to the number 14 because I was born on valentines day!

  113. 22 is my favorite number. First, of course, is that it’s a cool repitition…the only one other than 11 that happens in a month. Second, it’s my birthday date as well as my mom, and a whole bunch of friends who were born on the 22nd of various months. Unfortunately, my older brother was born on the 20th of his month…which not only messes with the lovely order but often makes me late with his birthday card!

  114. I have always loved Feb. 8 as that is the day my husband ask me to marry him…that was 50 years ago…we have 4 children and 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren…I know that Feb. 14 is a special day to most everyone else but we love Feb. 8….

  115. This year my favorite number is 59 because that’s how many years I’ve been married to my wonderful husband. Of course, this number changes every year and that’s the most exciting part of it all.

  116. Funnily enough “14” is significant to me in a very unusual way. I play online Scrabble with a quilting friend of mine in the US. After playing for many years we noticed that the score on a first play of the game was more often than not “14”. Now we look for it and smile.

  117. I used to hate the number 6 it was the day my divorce became final. Now it is my favourite number. I met my present husband on the 6th month, 6th day. together we have 6 children and double 6 we have 12 grandchildren. triple 6 we have been together 18 years. So to me 6 is a sexy number filled with love and hope.

  119. Although I’m very partial to the number 13 but I think my favorite number is 2. I like to go on vacations with just me and my husband, I have 2 sensational daughters, 2 furry and friendly critters, 2 sewing machines, two businesses, and lots of other twos in my life. And, if you wanted to give me 2 Fat Quarter Bundles, I’ll be 2X as thrilled!!

  120. February 15, this is the day I became cancer free. I was diagnose with breast cancer on Feb.14. This year will mark 8 years. But very fond of the number 7 for many reason but 15 has been my luckiest so far. I like odd numbers most.

  121. Oh, #21…it always has been and always will be. My husband and I were married on Jan 21 and our wedding night was spent in room #21. My birthday is on Nov 21 and the best gift I ever received was my daughter born on my birthday. My husband and I have been celebrating #21 for 46 years now and plan to for many years to come.

  122. Almost 50 years ago my team won the 6th grade volleyball tournament on Friday the 13th. I remember it being terribly exciting and it changed the way I thought of Friday the 13th and the number 13 itself. It became my lucky day and number. Since then, I have had many good things happen to me on that day, and I still get excited if some event happens to fall on the 13th.

  123. Number one is my favorite number ..1 is the beginning or the start of everything. My first date, first wedding anniversay, first child, first grandchild, first great grandchild, first quilt. So many firsts , so many memories. The list goes on.

  124. I like the number 10. My first granddaughter was born on the 10th of February and 40 years earlier I was born on the 10th of February. Every day is special !!!

  125. I like the number 10. My first granddaughter was born on the 10th of February and 40 years earlier I was born on the 10th of February. Every day is special !!!

  126. Three is a special number for me. Several important years in my life were those ending with a 3, so maybe this year 2013 will another of those. I also have 3 wonderful children. What could be better.

  127. the number 9 has always been special to me. dont know why originally, it just felt special. it just feels special, it is odd, it is a square of 3, and then I was 9 lbs 3 oz when I was born! dont know why, it just works for me…….

  128. The number 9 is for me. Many loved ones have birthdays on the 9th, and most recently my first granddaughter was born on the 9th. Beginnings of another generation of sewists!

  129. I like the number 55. It is the age at which I have always planned to retire. and managed to do so. It is the age when I had all the extra time to myself, to read, to sew, to shop for my material stash and to quilt. I love it when a plan comes together.

  130. The number 7 makes me feel safe, don’t know why!
Giveaways are fun..thanks for this one..and it is fun to read eveyone’s comments, feels like a community of good.

  131. Number two is my favourite as the birthdays of my husband and children all are related to 2! Sure makes remembering birthdays easier. The fabric is lovely and would be so much fun to play with. Thanks.

  132. 22 is my number. Both my husband and I were born on the 22nd of our birth month. I make sure 22 is on my bingo cards! 22 is in my phone number. 11 is another number, half of 22, which is my birth month and also of my daughter, mother-in-law, granddaughter (11-11), another granddaughter, a grandson and my Golden Retriever, Morgan. It’s a family kind of thing!

  133. For me, the number 15 represents love. My adoption agency called me with wonderful news about my daughter-to-be on April 15. A month later, on May 15, her birthday, my sadly neglected rose bush displayed a stunning array of red roses to honor her special day.

  134. Special to me is the number 6 my dad told my mom there was something special about the #6 he passed away 12/06/96 she passed away 04/13/2006 I believe the 6’s tied them together for eternity. Happy Valentine’s Day, Dad and Mom!

  135. Number 9 is my number. When I was 6, my grandmother took me to a church picnic and won a large coconut cake and the most beautiful doll I had ever seen for me by playing her lucky number – number 9! I adopted number 9 as my lucky number and have used it for years. When she was little, our daughter decided that 9 was her lucky number, too! It’s getting to be a family tradition.

  136. 21 seems a great number to me. My sister’s birthday is on the 21st, I was married to the greatest guy on Earth on the 21st and my middle so was born on the 21st. For some reason the number 0223 also keeps popping up in my life.

  137. Number 3 is the number that I chose for myself. It brings harmony. I would love to have many loving friends..cats, dogs..etc. But when I have three..I have reach the perfect numbers. Thank you.

  138. Personally, i have two very favorite numbers. Those are 6 and 24. They are the days of the month that my beautiful baby girls were born. And those beautiful girls (1 year old, 6 week old) mean everything to me and always will. Plus 6 is a divisable of 24 and 24 a multiple of 6. Haha so thats even better!

  139. I love the number 13 – my birthday! Friday the 13th is no problem for me, they are all good! Great giveaway! Also have to add that QA is better than ever. I am really enjoying the recent issues.

  140. I love the number 7. The first house my hiusband and I lived in had three 7″s in the address, and those were the best years of our married lives! 7 is a prime number, the number of days in a weekand when multiplied by 2 is 14… your favorite number! 7 is the number associated with wisdom, and don’t we all wish to be seen as wise? 7 is considered a lucky number in many societies (Lucky 7). AND, I have age spots on my right hand that actually grew there in the shape of the number 7 ! (The honest truth!)
    I also am partial to 10’s as i was born on 10/10/1957 … there’s that 7 again!!!

  141. The number 5. because, I have been very blessed to have 5 beautiful grandchildren. Who I know will love it when I sew them something fabulous using Mary Jane Butters’ fabric.

  142. The number 13 is important to me because both my daughters were born on the 13th. One in February and one in November. It has always been a lucky day for us. Thanks for the opportunity to announce it!

  143. For me, 17 is a special number. I was born on Aug 17th, but more important my daughter, the joy of my life and my only child, was born on my 39 1/2 birthday — Feb 17. And she’ll be 17 next week! Now that’s special!

  144. 7/8/9 Are numbers that changed my life completely.
Significant in that my daughter was born on this date 2007 August 9th.
Also the birthdate of my long deceased grandmother. An auntie says that she is the re-incarnation in my girl…a date I will never forget.

  145. My favourite number is 9. I got married on the 9th of the 9th and started married life in a house numbered nine.My Mum and Nephew’s birthdays are both on the 9th too.
Love the Quilting Arts website, keep up the good work.

  146. I Love the number 26 because that was date our first of 4 daughters was born and what a blessing. Thank You for the opportunity to win such beautiful fabric !

  147. My number is 3 ……my birth date, my late husband birth date and we were married in the 3rd month ….March I was his 3 rd wife. The fabric will be fun to work with.
Hope you 14 th is great…

  148. I would have to say “25” is my favorite number. I married the love of my life on the 25th of the month, Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday (Dec. 25), and this year Hubby & I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary. Works for me!

  149. I like the number 27 – my birthdate – my parents were married on the same day, and my husband and I were married on my birthday, as well! So it is lucky for us. Thanks for the fabric giveaway!

  150. I always favor the number 3… My birthday is 3/3, and I was born into a family of 3. I cuurently have 3 rescued pitbulls. Most times I am multi-tasking doing 3 things at once. I also try to have 3 creative projects going at one time in different areas, so if I tire of one I have two others…. 3 ROCKS!!!!!-Jamie

  151. My number that is significant to me is 29. The reson is because that is the day I married my sweet husband. We were only married 5 years when I lost him to cancer on 07/08/2007. It was the happiest 5 years of my life. Wish I could have them back. I now quilt for the wounded warriors through my church. Make little quilts 24″ x 24″ for the prenatel care unit for our local hospital. I am 65 years old, live on a fixed income and live alone. I retired the end of September. Right now I’m working on a quilt for the Sandy Hook victims and hoping to send it out next week. I would love to win the Moda fabric.
    Thanks, Mary
    Humble, Texas

  152. Another vote for the often considered unlucky number 13. I graduated high school on Friday the 13th, my sister was born on Friday the 13th, and many other good things have happened on those “unlucky” days.

  153. I loved reading everyone’s comments and was happy to see most everyone loves the date of their birthday, or the date of their marriage, or something to do with love of family! Happy Valentine’s Day!

  154. I love the number 2 because that is the beginning of it all. Two people meet and fall in love . Whether they have children or not, the number 2 is the foundation of love.

  155. The number “5” is special to me because my husband and I were both born in the 5th month of years ending in “5. “1995” is the year I married my wonderful husband and one of my daughters was born in a year ending in “5.”

Thanks for a chance to win some wonderful fabric. Happy Anniversary and Happy Valentine’s Day!

  156. Can’t decide wether a 1 or a 17 is the most important – wedding anniversary and my daughter’s birthday are on a 1 and my birthday and my son’s is on the 17th!!

  157. Trying to decide on a favorite number was thought provoking as I have several, but the best is the 28th. My husband and I married on August 28th 1976 and we have traveled the roller coaster ride of life. Ours vows have been tested is evey way: rich and poor, sicknees and health, but our trust in each other has never faltered. To that someone is so honorable, so true is almost the stuff of fairy tales. I know that he will always stand by me even if I don’t deserve it, but I do try to. Another 28th was our best Thanksgiving, our first daughter was born.

  158. 14 is special in my world also 3 special people in my life share April 14 as their birthday….one in 1955, 1 in 1960, and one in 1983. My birthday is August 14. My child was married on Feb 14. Free fabric is fabulous! Can’t get this fabric locally!

  159. Oh my, it’s number 9……… the date of my birth, the month of my birth, and the year of my birth……..and yet the story is weighted with the fact that it is the date and month of my mother’s, uncle’s, and cousin’s birth. We have had the delight for many years of celebrating that day together as family and the deep connection with each one in sharing this date in our lives. In learning about significant number meaning, I have also found in the realm of Judeo-Christian faith there are nine fruits and gifts of the Spirit, nine beatitudes, and other categories of nine items. Those are all qualities I desire to live out, patience, kindness, love, joy, peace, ……and the list goes on……

  160. I am partial to odd numbers but esp. like 3, III, three. Trinity, three on a match, third time’s a charm, wait three days … (dot dot dot). Using threes is pleasing to the eye in flower arranging, grouping objects, painting dots. One is sometimes not enough, five can be too many, but three can be just right. We even have a local golf tournament with teams of three. I enjoyed reading the cool comments about numbers! Take a number–any number–before your number’s up!

  161. My fav number so far would be 7, bc my first child was born the 7th month of the 7th year. I am currently pregnant and can deliver anytime now with my second. πŸ™‚

  162. Interesting question. Made me think. I’ll go with 2, a comfortable, satisfying number. My birthday, my mother-in-laws birthday, my daughter’s birthday, number of people in a “couple,” takes two to tango πŸ™‚

  163. The number 30 is very significant to me. When I was a teenager, I totally thought age 30 was basically “over the hill” and I could not envision what my life would be like at that age. Well, age 30 came (and went) and it was a memorable age for me. One of my children was born that year, My husband and I had our 10th wedding anniversary, I had my tonsils out (yikes, that hurt!), and I finally received my college degree! So, whenever I think of my most memorable number, 30 always comes up! Thanks for this opportunity!

  164. My special number is 28. My wonderful husband and I were married on July 28 and we have been married for 28 years. I feel especially blessed to have him in my life as we had both been married before and this is a long time for a second marriage to last these days! Also, my Granddaughter chose number 28 for her Ice Hockey jersey number – I love that!

  165. Back in grade school whenever I was asked “What’s your favorite number?” the answer was always eight. If I had to pick a number between one and whatever, it was always 8. When in high school I became the oldest of 8 when my mom gave birth to my youngest sister, her last child. My parents were married in 1948. And I married my husband in 1978.

  166. There are two numbers that keep popping up all over the place for me. The numbers are 7 & 8. My mom had two children, the first one, her son, was born on the 7th of the month; her daughter (me) was born on the 8th of the month. Fast forward a few years (quite a few :)) I have two children, a son and a daughter. The son being the older one….he was born on the 7th of the month, and my daughter was born in the 8th of the month. She was not only born on the 8th of the month, she was born on the same month and day as my mom. πŸ™‚

  167. I love your “14” story. My number is “8”–it is my birthday and my son’s and when I was born, the family story goes that I was born on March 8, 1958 at 8:08 pm. So I like the number 8!
    Thanks for this great giveaway!

  168. I was born on the 17th day of the 7th month. I graduated from high school at age 17. Five of the houses we’ve lived in for the past 43 years have had the number 7 in them, Both my husband’s phone number and mine include 7s and 17s.

  169. I like the number 3. It is my birth date, the number of brother/stepbrothers I have (and sister in laws, too!) and number of really close friends I have!

    Thanks for the give away!

  170. I am very partial to 1948…. the year my husband was born AND also my favorite musician of all time – James Taylor. Thanks for the opportunity to win some great fabric!!

  171. My husband and I just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary this past year and I have decided that 50 is our magical number. We have raised 8 amazing children, traveled the world, and lived in 5 states (moving for my husband’s job) and we are happier now than we have ever been.

  172. I love 0 because it means I finally finished. O errands to run, 0 bills to pay, 0 projects to finish, etc. I rarely see this number because this these things never seem to get done. Because it is so rare that makes it special.

    Candy

  173. I was born on Valentines Day and engaged on Valentines Day. We celebrate our 48th wedding aniversary this year. I love violets … one of the first flowers to bloom and amethest gems stones. i am a February baby and 14 is significant to me!

  174. The number 11. It is not only my birthday, but in numerology and other metaphysical principles corresponds to ‘balance’, which also happens to be the signature characteristic of Librans!

  175. hi michelle!
my numbers are 1 4 and 7 my birth mother was born in 1 of 47 and my adoptive mom on april (4) 17 i am so blessed to have been loved by these two amazing women thats a special valentine : )

  176. I like the number 2. I was born on 2/12 at 2:00pm. I am the second child. I am a twin. I am from a family of 2 boys and 2 girls. My husband is the second (and last) guy I ever dated. I have 2 boys and 2 girls. And, yes, I have a set of twins.

  177. In the beginning was the number 3. Our wedding anniversary, along with several birthdays in his family. 3 is the number of children we have. Then there is the number 4. April is the fourth month. The month of 3 of our grandchildren’s birthdays. The fourth granchild’s birthday is in March, the third month of the year. Oh and then there are the days of the majority of our birthdays: 21, 24, 25, and 2 on 27. I have alot of favorite numbers that match all the favorite people in my life.

  178. 572 is my number, apparently. It is part of my ss, also my son’s, came up randomly on my first car’s license plate..it shows up all the time. 572, in that order. Weird!

  179. Hi, my favorite number is 13. I was born on Aug.13 as the thirteenth grandchild. The numbers in the time added to 13. We were married on 8/5, which adds to 13. My daughter weighed 8 lb., 13 oz. at birth. Unlike the tradition of unlucky 13, I think it is a good number.

  180. I love zero (0), because the absence of anything defines the something it surrounds. Plus, ‘nothing is too good to be true,’ and “Nothing is more important than this day.” (Goethe). The idea of the emphasized ‘not one thing’ juxtaposed with zero and meaning its exact opposite always charms and excites me.

  181. I like 23 because its my birthday. My “golden birthday” was celebrated on a vacation in Florida in December. A very special treat for a Minnesota girl in the midst of winter.

  182. My favorite date is also February 14th. My late husband and I got our marriage license on Valentine’s Day. July 14th is our Wedding Anniversary, too. Also, the 14th comes before the Ides of March, which was not too swell for Julius Caesar. Guess he should have stayed in bed on the 15th.
I also like multiples of 7 and 14. I have 5 children, so 7 in our family; half of 14.
    Hope I win!!!

  183. Amazing how many people have responded to Valentine’s Day Giveaway. How can you choose a winner? One lucky person will win but how many will not? It will be the luck of the draw I think so I will stick a pin in my entry. A common pin is the shape of number ‘One’ so I wish my No.1 Happy Valentine’s Day. Hope you all have a lovely day and be like the pin – keep upright, be sharp and stick in! Pin a red rose to your buttonhole on Valentine’s Day and you will feel special xxx

  184. 20 is my special number. My mother gave birth to me on the 20th and she is no longer with us. She was my quilting mentor; just one of many reasons why I miss her so much.

  185. I like two; if there are 2, you are not lonely. My husband and I are two, 2 very in love. My mom and I are two, 2 phenomenal women. My dad and I are two, 2 very creative minds that love each other. My daughter and I are two, 2 inseparable souls forever. My dog and I are two, 2 girls that have held each other together through thick and thin. The Earth and I are two, 2 that celebrate in April my birth and its’ existence. I really love the number 2!

  186. I like the number 25 as it is the date of my birthday, my husband’s birthday and my sister’s birthday. In fact, two of us have our birthday’s on the exact same date and month!

  187. I suppose I could say that 22 is my favorite becasue that is my birthday. But no….or perhaps the day that one of my 3 children was born. But no….. Wedding anniversary……no. The number I like has nothing to do with any of those reasons.
The number is 30! Reason: We had moved into a nice neighborhood. I had 2 step children, one daughter of our own and a another child (son) in the oven. I cooked, cleaned, shopped, organized, went to PTA and even held an office. Worked part time. I did it all. But I was still in my twenties and considered the baby in the neighborhood. I felt a little intimidated; not fully accepted. The day I turned 30 I don’t know what happened to me!!! I felt totally different; no intimidation, more than adequate, and didn’t care if I was “fully accepted” or not by the older ladies. I felt like I had “arrived”! This was the greatest feeling……so freeing and such confidence. I liked me just the way I was. I wasn’t really any different. I wasn’t rude to any of the neighborhood ladies. And I certainly didn’t share my feelings. But I definitely felt different. “Look out world. I paid my dues and learned my lessons., Now here I come!” I laugh every time I think of that birthday.

189. 48 has always been a number that shows up in my life – at one time, our house number was 418, the last 4 digits of our phone number were 8414, my m-in-l’s phone number was 4180. My son was born at 1:48 pm. I haven’t won any fantastic prizes because of it but it just keeps showing up.

  190. Hi Michelle,
The number 3 is significant to me as we have been a family of three- my husband and son and myself. We also have one cat, one dog and one child= 3 children types ( LOL) Wishing you a wonderful Valentine’s Day. Your winner will love this bundle of beautiful fabrics.

  191. 3 is my number. I was born on dates (month, day and year) that are multiple of threes. Significant dates and events always end up a multiple of three. It always seems to be lucky for me. The single digit 3 is extremely the luckiest for me.

  192. I love the number 21. It is my birthdate, and my brother’s birthdate and there are 21 months between us, so that seems pretty perfect. But 3 is kind of a special number and so is 7 and 3 times 7 is 21…But twenty one also has a special kind of rhythm to the words. To me it sounds precious and beautiful. Maybe because when we find someone we love we 2 become 1. The queen of England also has her real birthday on the 21st April…Lots of lovely twentyoneness!

    Thanks

  193. Twenty three has always been a special number for me as that is our wedding anniversary. In November this year will mark 55 years. Time has passed so swiftly and I love my husband more now than I ever have. He is not as spry or healthy as he used to be but he is still handsome and has a wonderful, positive attitude. Such a blessing to me! Thanks for allowing me to express my joy and happiness at this special time of our lives. And thanks for the chance to win but I am already a winner!

  194. My special number is 7. It began when I was 7 years old and my mother organized a gathering of seven little girls who were all seven years old. We met on the seventh day of the month after school, and participated in an array of games and skill-building activities, had refreshments – which we often had made ourselves, and generally built a little community. Among the activities that we enjoyed were simple sewing, embroidery, and other art projects.

It has always seemed that 7 is a lucky number for me, whether it was winning a raffle, a number in a game, or just a good day. If I am making a piece of art I often think in terms of 7 elements. If I am asked to pick a number I always pick seven!

Thank you for this great give-a-way! I love winning fabric!

  195. I don’t have a certain day that is special although the first of each month always feels like a new beginning just like the beginning of each new year. Every day is wonderful regardless of its number. We have a chance to see, feel, do!
New fabrics, yarns, colors in whatever way we choose to use them!
    Wonderful

  196. I like the number 28 – is is my birthdate, my daughter’s birthday, and her wedding anniversary. Our son-in-law is great – at big 10, but he is so special, smart and thoughtful that he also makes 28 a great number!!

  197. I always think that 2’s and 5’s are lucky for me – no idea why but I’ve thought that since I was a little girl playing board games with dice… sometimes I add them together for 7 if I need more than 2 numbers. I would love to be lucky in this give way – these fabrics will make a really happy project! Happy Valentines Day.

  198. I am partial to even numbers, and sixteen holds the top spot. For as long as I can remember it has just felt particularly square. Helps that my husband thinks my birthday falls on the 16th and our anniversary DOES fall on the 16th.

  199. Since I was a little girl, playing board games with dice, I thought that 2’s and 5’s were lucky for me – no idea why. I hope I will be lucky in this give away, I would love to play with these fabrics, they’d make a happy project. Happy Valentines Day

  200. Since I was a little girl, playing board games with dice, I thought that 2’s and 5’s were lucky for me – no idea why. I hope I will be lucky in this give away, I would love to play with these fabrics, they’d make a happy project. Happy Valentines Day

  202. Well 14 is pretty special to us! My son was born on Valentine’s Day the best gift ever!! It just so happens he was answer to prayer! When I prayed that my oldest son might need someone to play with.. we live on a farm with few neighbors.. I thought I heard the Lord laughing when I asked that! Thus Chuckes (Charles) was born on Valentines Day!! Several years later I prayed for him to find the right girl. who just happens to be born on the 14th of January just exactly one month from his! Both my sons were answer to prayer as we were barren for the first 12 years of our marriage… When I prayed “Lord ok, if we are not to have children please take the desire from me! I can’t go through life crying whenever I hold a child”.. His answer was my oldest son expected on April 14th but he couldn’t wait so he came just a couple days early on the 12th… Then my Birthday is just a day later on the 15 sooo… lots of celebrating in our family!! yup the 14th is one of the most special days of my life!!

  204. My special number is 13. I find that it is very lucky for me including my birthday.
April 13th. It’s amazing how many people favor the 13th even tho it’s supposed to be unlucky.

  205. My favorite number is 9, for September, my birthday, my husbands birthday and our Anniversary all fall in there. 14 is good too, that is my birthday. So we are almost birthday twins.

  206. Hmmm, I seem to love number period. I mean, so many numbers mean so many things in my life. 1 husband, 2 children, 3 pets, 4 siblings, 5 work days etc… I love Moda. Thanks for a chance to wn.

  207. The number 4 is my number of choice. I was born, married and had my first child in April, the forth month of the year. Our anniversary is also April 14 (34 years this year. Happy Anniversary to all of you who share April 14 with us as our wedding anniversary.

  208. The number 4 is my number of choice. I was born, married and had my first child in April, the forth month of the year. Our anniversary is also April 14 (34 years this year. Happy Anniversary to all of you who share April 14 with us as our wedding anniversary.

  209. The number five has been my favorite number from childhood. Probably had something to with growing up in a family of five, being a mother and wife in a family of five and now adding five members to our family, 2 daughters-in-law and 3 granddaughters whom I love to sew for. And my birthday falls in the fifth month. Five’s a good number.

  210. My favorite number is 4. I was born in the forth month and it has always been my lucky number! Thank you for having this contest, although I bave not had a valentine for many years, I still feel lucky! I always have my children and Quilting!

  211. Ooo! I have several actually.

I like the number 1234, or the time 12:34. I always seem to notice the clock when it is that time – never have figured out any particular significance to it though.

I also like the number 8.
My mother was born in a year ending in 8, as was my sister, and as I was also, and my husband! It’s a very good number!

I’ve always liked numbers and number combos. (Like Nov 12, 2013 will have.)
And I’ve always loved free fabric! : )

  212. (Sorry if this double posts – page keeps timing out!)

  213. #22 of course. My husband’s racing # and my son’s baseball # and if you watch sports – it seems like everytime there is a good athlete or great play – he will be a #22. Thanks for the opportunity to win some great fat quarters.

  214. Very soon our family will celebrate milestones. My mother will be 90 and I will be 60. My twins will be 40. My youngest daughter will be 30. My grandson and granddaughter will be 10. Lots of great numbers but most important is the love and memories we have together.

  215. We celebrate the 14th every month. Valentine’s Day is our wedding anniversary and for years and years, my husband would send me a dozen roses every month on the 14th. I finally convinced him to start buying rose bushes instead. πŸ˜‰ Then, many years later, our precious granddaughter was born on Flag Day, June 14th. My birthday is February 7th or 2/7 and two times seven equals fourteen. β™₯

Thanks for the chance to win! ☺

  216. I am a fan of 12! My birthday is the 12th of June and my dh is the 12th of September…and 14 is the runner up as my wedding day in October. Thanks for the wonderful bits and pieces.

  217. I like the number 13. It gets a bad rap and is conventionally considered an unlucky number, based on the idea that there were 13 people at the Last Supper (Jesus and his 12 apostles). I like to swim against the tide, I guess, and chose this for my personal lucky number. Since there are 13 members in a witches’ coven, and what were called witches were really just wise women who understood herbal medicine and childbirth, I’d like to reframe 13 as a positive number!

  218. I like 8 because my daughter and granddaughter’s birthday’s are in August. There is also an 8 in my birthday which is the 18th and in the year I was born 1958.

  219. I like 8 because my daughter and granddaughter’s birthday’s are in August. There is also an 8 in my birthday which is the 18th and in the year I was born 1958.

  220. The number 14 is one of my favorite numbers. I meet my husband at my girl friend’s wedding. He had flown in from Florida for his friend’s wedding. we spend a year telephone dating and have now been married for 14 years. It is a second marriage for both us old timers. Life does go on after 50!!!!

  221. 5 is the best… My daughter was born on May 5, I was born in May, my sister in May… So basically May is the best. LOL I normally choose 5 for any kind of numbers game. 5 fingers. 5 GOLDEN RINGS…… πŸ™‚

  222. my number is four. when I was a kid, there was a thing girls did to tell you how many kids you would have.. really… thread on a needle, hold it over your friends head, the number of times it would revolve would be how many kids you would have… I have four kids…. so the number four has always stuck in my head from that little thing we did as kids… I also like even numbers and four is even… lol have a great day

  223. Number 13 is my favorite number. First of all not only was I born on November 13, but I was born on Friday the 13th. Then, we were married on August 31. I love being born on Friday the 13th because it causes lots of converation. Thank you for this offer. CL

  224. The number 5 has always been special to me. My dad died when I was six and I think this is why I like 5 the best. Since then, though, even years are when the best things in my life have happened. so, I love even years as well.

  225. #13! Though 13 is most often connected with Friday the 13th, I have always looked at the number 13 as being my favorite number as I was born on the 13th of May. So even when my birthday falls on a Friday and others are saying “Uh-oh, it’s Friday the 13th!”, I am saying, “Oh yay! It’s not only my birthday but my lucky day because it is Friday the 13th!” My cup is always half full! πŸ™‚ Mary Jo

  227. Twenty (20) is my favorite number for romantic reasons as my husband and I were married on that day. But I also love the number because it seems to round to me; it’s so complete in itself like our marriage. I’m partial to circles in my art and the number 2 can be drawn, stitched, printed scrolly like a never-ending vine; Even spelled out the number twenty is simple, strong and complete. Thanks for reminding me about this as Valentine’s Day approaches. As I sit in my heart studio today with 20 I shall play. Thanks and Happy Valentines Day. I just had an idea — I’ll make the number 20 for Valentine’s Day and the “2” will be an intertwining, never-ending vine and the “0” will be in the shape of a heart!! Kudos. Terri

  228. I have several numbers that are lucky for me, but the first number that came to mind was my brother Chucks number 13. We called him Unlucky Chucky but he saw that number as a challenge. Chuck was very creative and everyone loved him. He passed away at the age of 26 after living an adventurous life. Whenever I see that number I think of him.

  229. I have different #’s that overlap but the one that stands alone is #3. I have had the most life changing events in the 3rd month. My birth month which I was also born on my aunts birthday. Bought my 1st home in the 3rd month. Met my 3rd husband in the 3rd month. Was suppose to have my daughter in the 3rd month (she decided the 4th by 2 days), she had her son on the 3rd day and he will be 3 this year. I have 3 sisters and had 3 brothers. I lost my youngest brother in March. I had 3 lovely parents. I’m living in the 3rd home I’ve bought which was in the 3rd month….. This is the 3rd time I’ve enter for a fabric giveaway. Thank you for letting me share.

  230. February 28th is one of my favorite days – it was my Nana’s, who went to become an angel in Heaven many years ago, birthday. I spend a large part of that day remembering the fun things we did together – like her teaching me to quilt!

  231. The 14 is a special day for a few reasons. One is that that is my Birthday. The second reason was life changing for because it was my birthday that my husband proposed to me at a supries party. He has been my rock, best friend, my everything and I would not change that for anything. Also this year will be out 28 anniversary and if you divide that by 2 you get 14!! Good luck to everyone!!!

  232. 212 is my number. It signifies the day my parents got their daughter back from the grip of addiction. It was my first day of sobriety in 1987. Due to my recovery, my daughters have never known a mother who neglects them. Of all the numbers in the world, these three mean the most to me!

  233. It’s “14” for me, too. My birthday is Jan 14. My husband and I had our first date on Oct 14, and we married one year later on Oct 14. We’ll be celebrating 19 years this Oct. Valentine’s Day is just a plus on the old “14” scale.

  234. I guess I would have to say 18. My parents were married on April 18 just 18 days after meeting on a blind date, my dad was 31 and mom was 23 which adds up to 54 OR 18 x 3! I was born on February 18, my husband was born on November 18.

  235. I guess I would have to say 18. My parents were married on April 18 just 18 days after meeting on a blind date, my dad was 31 and mom was 23 which adds up to 54 OR 18 x 3! I was born on February 18, my husband was born on November 18.

  236. Ok, I have two..11&10.. Every time someone says “eleven” I think they are saying my name “Elaine”. And 10 is significant because my husband and I both have the number ten in our brithdates and my son’s birthday is 10/10!

  237. It’s always been lucky number 10 for me. I was born on the 10th day of the month, I remember my 10th birthday and 10th year as being wonderful in my childhood, and most particularly winning two teddy bears at a Church fete with the ticket numbered 10!

  238. I actually have 2 favorite numbers, 7 and 13. My husband also likes 13. When we got married, we did in July (7) 13th at 1:00 pm (13 hundred hours). If I need to choose a number, it’s one of these two. Go 7, Go 13!

  239. my older daughter’s birthday is the 7th and the month of my younger daughter’s birth is july, 7th month, that’s why i count 7 as my lucky number. thanks for the chance to win this great fabric.

  240. My number is 21. I share the 21st and same month with an uncle for our birthday. My only daughter and husband share the 21st of May. One of my sister’s birthday and many friends is 21st. We often win at games and contests with the number 21.

  241. My favor number is #24 because (1) I’m a NASCAR fan and my most favorite driver’s car number is 24; (2) also, my birthday date is “24”. Thank you for this chance to win the great giveaway.

  242. I have to agree with 14. My Mom was born on June 14,1930 and I was born on June 14,1959. My daughter had to be different, though, and came on May 22 1984. But I still like 14 best.

  243. My lucky number is 19. My two grandsons were both born on the 19th of a month, one in April, one in September. They are exactly 19 months apart.. Each has 19 letters in their name. One was born at 5:19 PM, the other at 1:19 AM. 19 is without a doubt a very happy, special number for us!

  244. My favorite number has always been 7. I know everyone thinks lucky number 7. but I don’t think of it as lucky. I have 5 children and with my husband and myself makes 7 that’s all. I use it for pin numbers and passwords cause I never forget, My spouse and I and our 5 children makes 7. Thanks Nancy

  247. My favorite number is 24: we got married on June 24, 1967 and I was born on December 24, a lot of years BEFORE 1967 (let’s just say I can now get the “Senior” discount at JoAnn’s!). Thanks for the great fabric giveway! I always need more fabrics in my stash.

  248. I’ll choose 2 because what’s more romantic than two people in love?

Disclaimer: This in no way denies the importance of children or pets to two people in love. They have had great importance to us!

  249. The number 14 is important to me from several perspectives, my daughter was conceived on February 14th and my son was born on the 14th. Ironically when you put the dates of my kids together (my daughter was born on the second) you get 02 14 or Feb 14th. Kinda cool if you ask me.

  250. A number which has been significant for my husband and myself is 8. My birthday falls in August, the 8th month of the year. I share this birthday month with my mother, grandmother, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, a brother in law, 2 aunts and a son. My husband and I married on the 26th of August and we have lived in 8 homes. All my 3 children were born in the 80’s and my youngest was born in 1988 on the 1st day of the year. Last August was especially special as my mother turned 80 , I turned 60 and my eldest son turned 30. A very celebratory month. It’s such a practical number too. An ideal number for a dinner party, and table settings. As well I am 8th generation Australian. Wow! Thank you for reminding me about the significance of this well shaped number. Happy Valentines day. Michelle, which has 8 letters!

  252. I love the number 7, because my husband’s birthday is on October 7th, and that is also our wedding anniversary….because he said I was the best gift he could ever have received!

  253. My significant number is unlucky 13. I have found it very lucky. I met my husband on the 13th of August, 1975. Our son, who was due on my birthday, was born early on good Friday the 13th, 1979 and our municipal address is 13. The day we moved in our beautiful niece was born.

  257. I like the number 13 because that is the day I was married. I also like 23 because I was born on the 2nd + my husband was born on the 21st= 23 which is the day our son was born!

  258. 1989 is my favorite number. It’s the year that i took my first quilting class and became hooked! Though I had to go back to work full time, I try to get in a few quilt projects in every year.

  259. Ok. I guess our “lucky” number would have to be “6”.. so here’s a math riddle for all of you. My hubby and daughter both have a 6 in the year they were born and they are 40 years apart. I also have a 6 in the year I was born. My daughter has a 6 in her current age. I have a 6 in the year I graduated. Can you figure out our current ages? If you need additional hints, see below:
Hint 1: My birth 2-digit year and graduation 2-digit year can be reversed.
Hint 2: My hubby and I are 12 years apart in age. Good luck and have fun! πŸ˜€

  260. 11 is my number. My birth day is 11-11-74 and 7+4=11 so, 11-11-11. My husband proposed on my birthday, and his birthday is also in November. I also had a great day on 11-11-20011. It was my power day!

  261. I don’t really have a specific special number. The days that my family members and friends were born, and the days were unplanned special things happened are my favorite. I guess its a bit weird. =P

  262. The number 5. My first dog was born on the 5th, my wedding anniversary year ends in a 5, I walk 5 miles per day to maintain my weight which ends in a 5, and I have 5 pairs of walking shoes.

  263. 18: It’s my birthday, my husband’s and my stepson’s, was in the address of the first two places I lived in growing up, and in the address of the first place my husband and I lived in together.

  264. Well, I think my favorite number is 21.: Got married on the 21st. My first child was born on the 21st. However, there are a few more, my 2nd daughter was born on valentines day and my son was born on the 20th. All of those were lucky for me.

    Thanks for asking.

  265. The number 13 is the first time I saw my future husband, it is also the date we were engaged and our daughter was born on Friday the 13th. The 13th has always been a lucky day for me. This year, on April 13th, 2013 will be our daughter’s lucky birthday. Thanks for this contest. It is nice to remember happy moments.
    Michèle

  266. My favorite number is 13. I have never considered it unlucky. My birthday is on the 13th. Both of my children were born on the 13th. I got my first car on the 13th. My husband and I had our first date, by accident, on the 13th. My friend brought him along and we hit it off. Three addresses that I’ve lived at have had 13 in them. Last but the best, my daughter is due on the 13th of February. Keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you for the chance for the giveaway. Would make a great baby blanket.

  267. I know you only asked for ONE number. But here are two very good numbers for me:

23: My father, mother, brother, and husband all share this birthdate
27: Me, daughter, granddaughter all share this birthdate. My parents and son’s wedding anniversary as well.

  268. I know you only asked for ONE number. But here are two very good numbers for me:

23: My father, mother, brother, and husband all share this birthdate
27: Me, daughter, granddaughter all share this birthdate. My parents and son’s wedding anniversary as well.

  269. I love the number 50. In June my husband and I will celebrate our 50th anniversary, and although he now suffers from Alzheimer’s, we’ll still celebrate with a small family party, dance to “Our” song, and have a couple of glasses of champagne. Life is good!!!

  270. I love the 14th for a romantic date, it’s the day my husband was born & the day he chose to ask me to marry him! It is pretty sweet too, since it does happen to be Valentine’s day, but that’s pretty subsidiary to the rest of the good reasons to like the 14th for a Romantic day!
Fun giveaway idea! Not too overwhelming πŸ™‚

  271. Believe it or not, mine is lucky 13. I had known my (now) husband for many years (his sister was married to my brother), but we lived many states away from each other – he in Maryland and I in Texas. He was going to be traveling to the state for business, so I drove 4 hours from Houston to Ft Worth to meet him for dinner on our official first date. That was on Aug 13. Since it was a long drive home, I booked a hotel room and stayed overnight in Ft Work, room 1313. 3 years later we were married on September 13.

  272. My favorite number is the number 7. I was born in the 7th month .Seven corresponds to the seven days of the week. God rested on the 7th day. There are 7 dwarves in Snow White (love the series Once Upon a Time), there are 7 wonders of the world, 7 continents, and 7 basic musical notes!

  273. Believe it or not 14 is my favorite number. I don’t know why numbers become a favorite, but I see it all swirly and sparkley when I think of it. Moreover, January 14 is my favorite date. Nothing significant has ever happened on that date in my life…but it might!

  274. My favorite number is terrific two and a half! That is the age my son is right now. He is a joy to be around. He is funny and exuberant about everything! He also loves my jokes and has started making up his own jokes as of late. He reminds me to slow down and enjoy life and him. Through his play, he is also is a constant reminder to do things creatively with what I already have.

  275. 7! That’s my favorite number…… First off….7 is a good number for design….odd number and creates a balanced design element. It’s Biblical…. the last seven words of Christ….. seven days/week. In Sudoku puzzles….more often than any other number… you can find where the 7s belong in the puzzle. Many, many quilt patterns show the size of a quilt with 7 blocks by 6 blocks or 7 blocks by 8 blocks or 7 blocks by 5 blocks. 7 is just a good number! AND….. since you like 14….7 is a multiple of your number 14!! Thanks for the opportunity to enter your giveaway….seven times over!!!!

  276. FIVE has always been my favorite number. I was born on the 5th day in 1955, I have five wonderful children and I have at least five unfinished quilting projects to work on!

  277. As you can see by my username…..! I was 13 on Friday the 13th and have had numerous “13” coincidences in my life (in high school I was number 13 in my class, rode bus 13, etc.). Friday the 13th is my lucky day….and maybe today, Feb. 13th, will be my lucky day too!!

  278. An exercise such as this offers one’s memory (and deductive reasoning) a challenge! For some unexplained reason I have always counted movements in sections of eight: such as walking on a treadmill, rocking a baby, beating batter in a bowl, and so on. Eight is special for specific reasons also: My birthdate is 8-8-42 (4×2=8). We were married on 5-26-62 (2 = 6 = 8) and have been blessed with 2 children, their spouses ( 2), and 4 grandchildren to total 8; due to my husband’s employment, we moved our family 8 times over the years; we have 8 nieces and nephews; my husband also quilts and prefers the challenges offered the J. Neimeyer patterns – most of which are constructed in sections of 8. Since I cut the pattern pieces for him, I am cutting many, many pieces using stacks of 8.The first full size quilt I accomplished was using squares from a BOM. To complete it I added blocks of a double pinwheel to practice getting all 8 of those points gathered together in one big point. I cannot finish without stating that 7 is also a favorite number. My daughter is born on 7-2, her husband on 2-7 and their son on 7-7. Thanks for the challenge. VW

  280. I would have to say the number 6. My husband and I were married on July 6. This year will make 40 years. Would love to win this fabric. Thanks for giving it away.

  281. Thirty one is special to me because my husband was born on 12/31/1947 and we were married in 12 /31/2010. Our wedding date was selected because we wanted our very special families and friends with us to celebrate our future together. Thank you for a reason to think about special numbers and fabric giveaways.

  282. Since I was 16, my number has been 45. I drove school bus 45 in high school. If I get a raffle ticket ending in 45, I win! Last time, it was $575!!! I lived at 4506, 4554, and now 405 address numbers. My license play car was 4556– I did not special order it- it came that way! I separated from my ex husband when my children were ages 4 and 5… And the separation was a great thing. When I was age 45, it was an absolutely incredible year!!! So, here’s to holding on to 45 and hopefully a chance to be selected!!! Happy valentines day!!
