Over the weekend I decided to go outside and get some color for my upcoming wedding (Yes, I was wearing sun screen!). I searched around for a good quilt to take outdoors and realized that I didn’t really have any
I was willing to use outside. Then I remembered (rather guiltily) that I faced this same problem last summer and started to make a colorful patchwork quilt to go outdoors with me. I never finished the quilt, and it has been sitting in my UFO basket ever since (it is a very bright and colorful "Summer" front as you can see in the picture I took of it).
I have decided that this will be my next project, but I am going to improve on my original plan by using oilcloth for my backing fabric. This way, even if the ground is wet, I won’t have to worry about the quilt getting soaked through. I got this idea from a project by Lisa Chin that was featured in Modern Patchwork. I will let you know how it turns out!
Tell me, what is your first project planned for this summer?
