Mine is the smell of lilacs.  Lilacs always remind me of my mother who I lost when I was 12.

Whenever I iron a certain type of fabric, it brings back memories of my first prom dress.  The dress had exactly the same scent when it was ironed.  What an exciting day it was.

Mine is the smells in my Grandmothers kitchen in the morning. Bacon cooking, biscuts baking, and apple butter. Yumm!

I wish I could think of one. Pretty fabric.

My first grade teacher always wore the most fabulous dresses! the fabric was always a bright floral print. When I saw this fabric it reminded me of her and I could almost smell her perfume and clean smell. She was a refined lady and a great and patient teacher. I am a sewing instructor and I do my best to emulate her behavior in my appearance and behavior while teaching.

My favorite scent is cotton laundry after it has dried in sunshine.  It reminds me of two wonderful memories: summers at our old beach house where we didn't have a dryer, and my (now-grown) daughter's baby clothes.

As a child growing up we had gardenias growing in the front of the house and when they were blooming they would fill the house with their wonderful smell.  Their smell reminds me of my Mother (she passed away at 54 in 1995), the fun I had as a child with my brothers, and the innocence of being five again.

Each time I use the pencil sharpener, I think of the smell of sharpening all those pencils anticipating the first day of school.

Ahhhh....there's nothing like the smell of my Mom's homemade from scratch cinnamon roll's.  The smell drives you insane and your mouth water's and you can't wait till they come out of the oven.  The gooey syrupy caramel, the raisins, the pecan's and the white frosting.  Yummmmy!  Ugh...I wish I had some now!

When my husband brings the lawn mower into our basement after mowing the lawn, the smell reminds me of my Uncle Eddie's garage. Uncle Eddie would come home from work through the garage, take off his work boots and come up the stairs into the kitchen. My Aunt Myrt would always be waiting at the top to welcome him home. They were so much in love for their entire lives.

When ever I smell pine in the air I remember wonderful days at girl scout camp.

This fabric is so unique!  Lovely!  When I smell roses I think of my grandma.  She always used a rose lotion.  I remember sneaking it from the pump and holding my hands to my nose.  Inhale, ah.  LOL.

The wonderful, effervescent, vanilla  smell of the first ice cold cream soda was the defining sign to me that summer had really arrived in northeastern Ohio. I remember the utter satisfaction of the first sip as I marveled at the view of the sun filtering through the lush green foliage that surrounded the playground at the park.   School was out and summer, glorious summer embraced me.

The scent if Chanel No. 5 always reminds me of my Mom - it was her favorite!  Those fabric prints are wonderful and so restful.

I remember the smell of my grandmother's sugar cookies and the anticipation of a lively game of Chinese checkers!

My grandmother & her twin always used lavender powder. I always think of them when I smell lavender. I am working on a quilt about their lives.

Roses trigger the memory for me. While at my Grandma's house, I would stand around the quilting frame that was lowered from the ceiling. My Grandma, aunts, greataunts, and neighbors would gather around the quilt. While they worked and visited the huge rose outside the window would fill the room with the most beautiful smell. One rose smell can transport me back, and I can see that scene and them as if I was there now.

Lillies of the valley that grew outside my grandmothers window.  The whole house smelled wonderful.  I wear Diorissimo in the spring and think of my grandmother.

For me the most memorable smell is not a particularly nice one. My grandfather owned a small cottage on the coast of NJ and my family used to go there every weekend as soon as the weather got warm enough. There was a particular spot that we reached on the way down the shore on Friday evenings where the smell of the marshy bay waters would come streaming through the open windows. I certainly wouldn't want perfume that smelled like that but for me it always meant that we were close to our destination and that always made me happy. (PS: Ms. Enche's fabrics are just beautiful! The colors make you want to jump for joy.)

For me the smell of new school supplies (paper, books, erasers, pencils, glue, etc.)sends me reeling with feelings of hope and possibilities.  The smell of these things takes me back to every first day of school, kindergarten through grad school!  That'sprobably part of what I love about being a teacher...

I love the smell of the woods after an early morning spring rain.  It immediately takes me back to Colombia when we adopted our daughter.

I love the smell of a new box of crayons. I can remember that from when I was a kid. That smell held the promise of all the wonderful things I would be able to create.  This fabric reminds me of that new box of crayons.

the smell of fresh brewed coffee brings me back to having having my first cup of fresh-brewed coffee and sitting in on a family pinocle game for the first time made me feel very adult when i was very young so long ago.

Mine is the smells of my Gramma's kitchen, while the quilting frame is set up & the ladies are arriving for an afternoon of stitching & companionship.  I never thought I would ever be able to make such perfecting stitches!  She was amazing & she really encouraged my creativity at a very young age.  This fabric line would bring tears to her eyes as she stroked it with her hands.

When I brew a cup of Constant Comment tea it reminds me of my Momma, it was the first adult drink we shared and I felt very special.

My birthday is in the late summer, and it is usually hot at that time. Where I live there are numerous pine trees, and nothing says "summer" to me like the smell of pine trees on a hot summer day. And the lovely smell of roses.

Where to start with smell memories? As a kid we used to spent summer vacations in Denmark and the smell of the sun on pine trees and needles just evokes a vacation happy all around feel, the way you felt as a kid with no worries. Nice - Wish I was there! Thanks for a chance.

I love the smell of home baked bread.  It reminds me of the "lightbread" biscuits my grandmother used to bake many years ago.

The smell of a clorinated pool brings back fond memories of visiting the local pool every summer day as kids with my sister and friends.

I think my most memorable times related to a smell is Saturday nights .  My Mom always made hamburgers and home made french fries.  We would all sit around the table and eat our meal.  It was a time of sharing and we found out what every one else was doing.  Thinking about it makes me miss my Dad even more I would never want to give up those memories.

The fabric looks very peaceful it would use it to make Christmas gifts for our family and I could share where it came from.  Thanks for opportunity.

I love the smell of the ocean. We have lived by it a couple of times. It is always a good feeling to inhale a deep breath when I am near it.

My favorite memory comes from my teenage years in Paris.  We would walk tp the bakery each Saturday morning for fresh French bread.  the smells were so heavenly that I'd was almost impossible to get home with a full baguette in hand.  When I think of Paris, especially in the Summer with all those beautiful bright colors, I automatically think if freshly baked French bread.  Wonderful!  These beautiful fabrics bring those memories to mind.

I can still smell Mrs. Collin's wonderful chocolate cookies with maple frosting. The cookies were a rich, dark brown with a light, golden brown covering. Oh boy, I loved going next door to visit Mrs. Collins when I was a kid!

When I smell J&J Baby Powder, I think of my children when they were infants, so cute and cuddly with beautiful soft smooth skin.

I love the smell of roses, especially Frangrant Cloud and Melody Perfume. THey remind me of the beginning of summer when life is more relaxing and I have time to "smell the roses."

When I was very young a Swedish lady made cardamom buns and had the mailman bring them up to my house for me. I loved them and I still think of them whenever I smell cardamom. And I can't make buns to taste like hers! Love that fabric. Very painterly.

The fresh, clean smell of the pine forest after a rain in the Rocky Mountains wilderness where I grew up, long before the area was developed and "touristy."

I connect the smell of homemade bread (especially cinnamon rolls) with my mother. A family joke: when we pass a site that has the strong smell of cow manure, we laugh and exclaim, "Money!".  We come from generations of cattlemen and lots of cattle = lots of manure = earning a living through hard work.  Thanks for the giveaway!

Lilacs are the scent that remind me of the Avon lilac stick perfume that my grandmother gave me each year for Christmas.    She was a dear person and I lost her when I was 10.   To this day lilacs bring me memories of her.

Last month, I walked out of my front door right into the smell of lilacs from my neighbor's yard. I was immediately transported into memories of my home growing up- sitting on the screened in porch drinking lemonade and eating homemade sugar cookies with my mother and grandmother. As I now have a 20 something son, those were long ago memories that the lovely scent triggered to my delight.

Today when I walked into the coffee shop they had just pulled out a sheet of baked donuts! The smell reminded me of my Dad taking me to the local donut shop on Saturdays as a treat. Beautiful fabric, would love to add it to my stash!

My dad was an artist, a painter first and mostly a potter as I was growing up. I still have a feeling of coming home whenever I enter a room that has been used as a painting studio(oil paints). I am not sure it is the paint itself, or the thinner but it makes me feel happy and content to breathe that creative air.

The one smell evokes a fond memory for me  is Coppertone suntan lotion--that smell transports me back my early childhood and the beaches around Lake Michigan.  I remember the bright sun, the cool water and my mom with her sunhat. Needless to say that smell reminds me of sand and water--two colors I use often in my quilting.

I remember my dear late grandmother whenever I smell violet flowers; I picked them for her daily when in bloom.

As a child we always went to my grandparents primitive lake cabin every weekend along with my Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.  Those are the happiest memories of my childhood.  In the Pacific Northwest there is a tree that when it opens up in the spring and summer, it stops me in my tracks, whether in the city or the country, many decades later, and takes me back to those wonderful times.  It's' a tree that just blends into the background but to me is so full of memories.  In my mind, I have instant visuals of the sun dancing on the lake, blue dragon flies, laughter, motors from the boats on the lake, my grandmothers flowers, the water lilies on the lake... Oh how I wish for those days to come back, just to experience them one more time.

Oh my goodness the smell of a charcoal barbecue and meat grilling during the summer brings me back to those nights we spent having dinner outside.  I still go nuts when I smell it, thinking about running around the yard and playing and exploring, as children while we waited for dinner to be done.

I have many fond memories centered on my mother's cooking and baking. One of my dearest memories is the aroma of homemade cinnamon rolls. She often made them on the coldest days in winter and the sweet smell filled the house. Heavenly!

Since 1988 I have lived in Arizona where we have two seasons.....Hot and Hotter!  I will always remember the smell of burning leaves and the jewel colors of the autumn leaves.

The smell of vanilla flavoring reminds me of my grandmother's kitchen and the cookies that were always coming out of the oven just in time.

I love the smell of the perfume Shalimar. My mother used to wear it. I remember when I was a little girl, I would watch my mother get ready to go somewhere with my dad on a Saturday night. Shalimar was part of that ritual along with make up and jewelry. Sometimes one of the teachers or the secretary at my work will be wearing Shalimar and it brings me back to that long ago time. Meg

I remember the smell of my mom making "Poor Mans Candy" it was a wonderful smell of sugar and butter boiled on the stove and if we were lucky she had coconut to put in it along with the vanilla. She would pour it out on buttered foil and we would all just sniff and keep walking by waiting for it to be cool enough to eat. YUMMY

Got to thinking and it may be a little hard for you to identify me if I should win (or not). I didn't sign my comments regarding my "great memories" relating to a wonderful smell that brings back those happy days of youth. As an eight or nine-year-old (I am now 76.) walking home at noon for lunch in the winter, it would be so cold and windy, I have to walk backward in order to stand up and to keep the cold air from my face. Upon opening the door I was greeted with the wonderful aroma of hot stew cooking on the stove and of so delicious cornbread Mother was just removing from the oven. As I was finishing, she would remove a fresh baked gingerbread from the oven and cut me a piece, butter it with real butter and give me an ice cold glass of milk. I don't know which was best--the wonderful smells or the eating as my mother was a terrific cook! I guess the eating, of course, but the aromas of those food dishes always bring back wonderful memories for me!    Bonneyb

Love the fabric, such gorgeous fabric. The smell of cinnamon brings back memories of my mother baking pies. The excess bits she would brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon. She would bake these along with the pies and let us eat the scrap pieces. I can almost taste them now!

Such lovely fabric!  What I joy it would be to win!  I always connect great family together times with the smell of yeast biscuits cooking...my hubby, two sons, their wives and now our four grandkids all love them each time we get together.

Lovely vivid fabrics.  I grew up on a farm and one of my favourite smells was just after a shower of rain on the wheat fields.  Also freshly baked bread waiting for me when I arrived home on the school bus!

I have some of Lida's earlier fabric set aside for my next quilt.  Lovely and I do enjoy the painterly effect.
