'Passages' Reader Challenge deadline is June 7!

27 May 2013

In the April/May 2013 issue of Quilting Arts, we challenged our readers to create a 10" x 10" art quilt based on the word "Passages."  Have you sent in your entry?  If not, there's still time but hurry!

Australian artist Rita Summers (featured in the June/July issue) used this inspiration photo and others to create her "Doorkeepers" quilt.

A simple word like passage has many meanings.  It can be a journey or an attained stage of life.  It can be an entrance or exit, a portion of music or writing, a continuous flow or movement, life or death.  What comes to your mind when you think of this word?  You still have time to put it into a quilt!

To be considered for the reader challenge, please read the rules here (you may need to scroll down).  And, most importantly, send us your submission by June 7!

We so look forward to receiving your entry.  I'll post the list of finalists on this blog June 14 so check back to see if your quilt is chosen.

Mine is almost finished! Do we need to include a hanging sleeve?

No, a hanging sleeve is not required. Thanks for double-checking though, Normajean. I look forward to seeing your submission!
