In the April/May 2013 issue of Quilting Arts, we challenged our readers to create a 10" x 10" art quilt based on the word "Passages." Over 125 readers were moved to make a quilt for the challenge. We were touched by the artistry, personal meaning, and unique images portrayed in these mini masterpieces. As always, choosing a group of finalists was tough. Thank you to all who participated in this challenge, and we hope to see your work in future challenges.
Here are the finalists
Mary Sanderson ("Later ... ")
Robin Koenig ("Dreaming Apples")
Judy Momenzadeh ("Water Under The Bridge")
Elizabeth Pekins ("Nightly Passages")
Melanie Johnston ("Secret Passages")
Polly Bean (no title given)
Patty O'Brien ("Time Passages")
Tia Kennedy ("Restore My Soul")
Tracie L. Maryne ("Passage to the Chartres Rose")
Barbara Triscari ("Pisa Passage")
Susan Selby (no title given)
Linda Moon Daughtry ("Searching for the Green Horse")
Finalists must ship their artwork to arrive in our offices no later than Friday, June 28. Please include a flat shipping and handling fee of $15 (U.S. and Canada) or $25 (all other international). This fee, which must be paid in U.S. dollars, covers the shipping costs, packing materials, and handling for the return of your entry. Only cash, checks, or money orders can be accepted. Checks or money orders should be made payable to Interweave.
The entire piece and all of its packaging must weigh less than 3 lbs. and fit inside a standard shipping/mailing box or padded envelope. Please include your name, address, and title of the quilt in the box/envelope and label your quilt with the same information. Please indicate the top of your quilt (a temporary label pinned on the back is sufficient) so we orient it properly in print and/or online.
Finalists should mail their entries to:
