I drove six hours - 350 miles- to get hand dyed fabric from the PIQF show in Santa Clara. It was worth it!!!!

I go to a country store to get quilting supplies.Takes me about an hour and a half to get there.That store has so many things for embellishments,that you just can't find in my,or I think any city.The material is great quality.I also used to go to New York which took about two to three hours,but I am very happy I found this store.

I live in Lake City, Florida and have traveled as far as Poulsbo, Washington to purchase items for my quilting studio. They have a great quilt shop their "Heirloom Quilts & Fabrics. However, I am fortunate to live in Lake City where we have" Fabric Art" quilt shop. It opened shortly after I moved to Lake City and is a dream to a quilter who is expanding into all types of mixed media. It's a short 10 minute drive.

I got quilt fabric in Patzcuaro, Mexico and oil cloth for my work tables in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. Also fabric in France. Usually I buy things locally though.

I've travelled 800 miles to get quilting material. My sister-in-law told me of a cool place to get fabric where she lived and when I got there, I took a bike ride in the desert and found more stuff in the desert than I did at the fabric store. So, I guess more like 810 miles....

I was on a trip to Amsterdam. And I looked for a quilt shop. I found two. One was just a fabric store the other was a real quilt shop. It was ausome .

Just got back from Key West which is 1900 miles from home. Went to buy the Key West Block print fabric. Only to sadly discover the store had closed in Jan after 59 years in business. I was soooo sad.

I bought a pair of stork scissors from Germany, and I live in South Carolina.

We were on a trip and that was the only thing on my souvenior list, and some fabric. Got some beautiful silk.

The furthest I've traveled is about 5371 miles! That's from the San Francisco airport to London, England. Ah, and what did I want so desperately that I traveled that far? I wanted to get a 222K Singer Featherweight sewing machine and there's a man near London who refurbishes them to work on USA electricity. Luckily for me my husband already needed to go for a business trip and I just tagged along. :-)
