It's never too early to start thinking of gift-giving season, and I've been busy plotting, planning, and designing things already. I know it's still spring but here at Quilting Arts Magazine we're already working on our annual holiday inspired publication, Quilting Arts Gifts, so I've caught the bug for making handmade quilt art gifts at home, too.

I am challenging myself to use fabric from my stash and, in some cases, pieces of old projects. For example, I found this group of half-square triangle sets recently and wondered what they could become. After playing and rearranging for awhile, I came up with a couple ways they can be sewn together.
Now to design a project! I'm thinking this could become a nice detail on a small purse or tote or maybe even a wine bag.
