Being outside to enjoy fresh air is what I most enjoy about summer; especially the mountain air!

I love the summer colors and prints.  I most enjoy spending time at the beach or at the pool.  The blue water relaxes me.

My summers are spent on a lake, but we do have a lovely cottage garden.  My winters are spent by the ocean, the best of both worlds.

The best part of summer is the beach. I can never spend enough time at the beach each summer. Feels so good, even though it is hot!

living on a dairy farm, summer is all about planting and harvesting with a little time now and then to work in the gardens and put by for the coming winter.

I just spent a fantastic vacation in Maine with my husband's family in New Sweden, ME. IF I win this I'll make sure to do something beautiful for my lovely mother-in-law. She gave me fat quarters and I made them into a tablerunner for her and I was so pleased that she had it right in the middle of her dining room table. I'd like to do that again for her with something that reflects her New England heritage, which is all very exotic to me since I am from Montana.

I love the colors of the water.  My goal is to live on either a lake or the ocean someday soon. With mountains nearby.  Don't want much, do I? ;)

My favorite thing about summer has to be the length of the day! I just LOVE that light and sunrise come early, with their colors, birdsong and fragrances of blooming gardens, trees and grass...And than the late sunsets and all the colors it brings - just so beautiful!!

Oh my favorite summer time enjoyment is heading to the county fair to see the grandson showing his pigs & cows.  Then to walk thru the Hall of Flowers to see what they created for our enjoyment & last but not least to tour the craft hall & see all the quilts created by the talented folks in our area.  Deciding what fair food to have is always fun as well.

I like summer because of the weather, you can go camping, boating, hiking, biking, just get out and enjoy mother nature.  The fabrics of your cottage garden are just beautiful.

I love to go camping in the summer time very high up in the Colorado Rockies.  There is nothing better than being at 10,000 feet where is it much cooler than in the city!

I enjoy the long daylight hours.  I'm visually impaired and can only sew with the benefit of the "real" light that we get through the daylight hours.  Summer means more time to quilt!

I enjoy the long days when the sun doesn't set until after 9pm.  I like to quilt with daylight and in the summer, I can stay at my long arm much longer in the evenign.  the fabrics make me think of blue skies, wildflowers and eating oranges!

Living in Hawai'i it's "summer time" most of the time - but fruit is still seasonal - MANGOES are a great part of summer in Hawai'i. The fabrics remind me wildflowers - they were a favorite part of my summers in Alaska. Thanks for the opportunity to relive some of those memories. : )

Here in the Tetons I enjoy having no snow for at least three months straight. Warm Days, cool nights . Not having to worry about school--I home school my 12 year old daughter.

Flowers, flowers, flowers!  With the long and cold Minnesota winters, I look forward to the bursts of blooms from my flower gardens.  I can spend hours creating flower gardens in a patchwork of colors.

I am not loving much about our summer this year.  There is widespread drought and we have had temps in the 100's way too many days.  I am thankful for air-conditioning which allows me to escape this debilitating weather and to enjoy being in my sewing room surrounded by beautiful fabric!!!

I personally love the months of June & July so much more than all the rest ... I'm a 10 month employee and get to do whatever I want in June and July.  These past 2 months have been filled with fabric, thread and much much sewing!

What I love most about summer is that I am lucky to enjoy it year round here in Hawaii. I sometimes miss the seasons but truthfully it's awesome to wear shorts and tank tops year round even on rainy days. :) But if I had to pick for being on the mainland for their summer I would say the fruit--I love summer fruit!! :)

When I was growing up my grandparents had a cottage on a lake and there was nothing better than sleeping on the screened in porch waking up to the birds singing. It's just great being on the water. There was this huge patch of pink sweet peas on the hillside that I used to love to pick and put in a vase in the cottage. Smelled great!

I love having my daughter home from school to spend time with. Also all the food that you can grow during the summer.

Sleeping in until 8, no school lunches, getting crafty with my 10 year old (although the mess we make is horrendous!)

Living in a part of the country where we have so many rainy, dreary days, a sunny summer day puts an extra spring in my step.

Beautiful pieces of fabric!  What I love most about summer is the looonnnngggg days.  I start fading when the sun goes down, so during summer I get so much more awake time!  Time to create, to sew, to read, to cook, to do anything!

Normally summers in Iowa offer a welcome break from the long snowy winters.  The fields are bright and green, and the warm days are tempered by cool nights.  It's been so hot and dry this summer, though, everything is withered and brown.  These beautiful fabrics would bring some color and freshness back into my summer!

The thing that I most enjoy about summer is my garden.  Cherries, Raspberries, Blueberries, Apples, Pears and Plums grow in my garden as well as an abundance of flowers and a few select veggies - greens and tomatoes.  Nothing is better than going out there in the morning and nibbling.  Raspberries produce from July to November so that's a lot of nibbling!  

Best thing about summer?  Campfires with family and s'mores!

Well this summer the think I enjoyed the most was that my 7 yr. old grand daughter spent all summer with us at the farm in Kansas. I love the fabrics we have been so darn hot for the last several weeks that when I look at the fabric it makes my mind think "Cool" weather. LOL Thanks for the chance to win.

What I enjoy most is the warmth of the sun and coolness of the breeze. Wearing shorts and sleeveless tops and flip-flops.  Swimming in the pond. The long days. And vacations with the grandchildren. Summer is the best season of them all.  Let's celebrate!

Give me a cool, summer evening, a comfortable lounge chair, stars in the night sky, a well-washed quilt that's soft and hugable, and the sound of the ocean lapping on the shore and I feel I'm in heaven!

I love sitting in my garden and enjoying a nice glass of lemonade. It gives me time to decompress and read about quilting.

I love having more sun then anything but along with that comes more flowers, trees changing colors, kids out playing in water.  So much fun comes along with sunshine. How can you not love it!

Since I live in that part of the country that gets summer for six months of the year, the best thing is that I can enjoy the beauty of the season from my air conditioned studio.

Summer where I live in New Zealand is about Christmas, the end of the school year, holidays, outdoor pre-Christmas markets, outdoor concerts at New Year, barbeques, long hours spent gardening...a busy  time when the world looks brighter and happier.

Summer is for watching things grow in nature and creating new things then harvesting what you have sewn.

Locally grown, incredible watermelon and cantaloupe.  Light when I leave for work AND when I come home.  The hometown 4th of July Parade that features veterans I've known since I was very young, carrying the American flag - I cry every time.  Road trips.  Dreams of the next road trip.  Watching the kids ride bikes up and down the road until bedtime.  Cookouts.  Snowcones.  Too many crickets.  Just enough cicada buzzing to induce sleepiness....

For me, summer means less time spent at work and more time spent on my sewing machine and in my garden!  I could put that floral fabric to great use!

Summers are great fun, because I run summer programming at the Scandinavia Public Library in Scandinavia, Wisconsin. I get to spend all summer turning kids onto some great books and coming up with great craft projects for everyone to do. We have a group of crafters who come in every week to knit, crochet, bead, quilt, etc. at the library, and they love passing on their skills to the newest generation. I even ran a mini-quilting course for our teens and adults a couple of years ago! Also, I get to bring my own kids in to work with me at least a couple of times per week so they can participate in the library programs. This is great because it means we get to see each other a lot more often, and they get to see what I do at work. They even help the littlest kids with their projects and shelve books for us too!

I most enjoy watching various types of hummingbirds that stop to sip at a feeder hung outside my kitchen window. It's an entertaining pastime easily viewed from inside, so I can avoid melting from the 105-109 afternoon high temperatures that seemed to have become the norm.

I was just thinking the other day how grateful I was for summer berries!  I also like summer colors, most recently beach / ocean colors.  C":-)

I like going to the pool in the evening to cool off after a hot day.  Also like going to the beach during the summer to feel the cool ocean breeze.

Summer is a time of year that is made for family time, relaxation and time to leisurely. pursue my hobbies.  As a family we vacation together and get to spend time reconnecting with our extended family such as aunts and cousins.  It 's an easy fun time for families.

well i live in the south- so taking a walk is out of the question with the oppressive heat-95-105 daily and the misquitos that tag along with you- but we do love having crawfish boils, watermelon & bluebell ice cream!  of course, having longer days to enjoy-is also a plus!

Living in the Willamette Valley (Oregon), we get very little sun during the majority of the year - to me, summer means one thing - SUN!!

My favorite thing this summer has been sitting outside at night watching the fireflies dance and listening to the bullfrogs sing.

I love Summer for the daylight! I like sewing by natural light plus when it is really hot outside I enjoy my AC and sew.  

I enjoy cool early morning walks with my dog.  We walk along the river trail and it is cool and peaceful.  There are a few other walkers and an occassional group of deer.

I love to go and sit in the garden among my tomato plants eating "warm from the sun" tomatoes, salt shaker in hand. Yummy!

just spent a lovely few days on Cape Cod at the Lighthouse Inn - what a lovely way to begin the summer - the colors of the water, pool and grass were so crisp and clean.

My vacation starts Friday at 3 pm. I'm so excited. I'm not going anywhere but my quilt studio. I have two quilts that I hope to get done. I'm also hoping for rain, we need it and I also won't feel so bad that I'm not outside enjoying the summer weather.

Summer and fabric go together at our lake home.  I love sitting at the sewing machine and looking out at loons and fisherpeople and egrets and deer and clouds drifting lazily by while I try to create.

Summer memories are of screen doors, snow cones and fireflies, sitting on a tree branch and fishing with my brother, hot steamed blue crabs, and the Eastern Shore. I still love these things, but now I now live inland and don't get to enjoy them as often.

I love the smells and colors of summer--from the fresh grean leaves in the garden to the blues of the water. When the sun warms our yard my senses come alive as I smell the aroma of the plants and flower. Great time to relax, catch up on reading my textile books and magazines.

BEcause I teach all year and come home exhausted, I love summer because it gives me time to sew and quilt. Temperatures here in the Great Central Valley of California have been over 100 for days. Nothing's better than turning on daytime TV and sewing at the machine.

hummingbirds and flowers are my fave summer things to enjoy!

I Love going to Gardens to enjoy Summer Flowers in Bloom!  I also like to sit on porch and watch the Broad Tail Humingbirds feed at my Red Birds in a Tree and Humingbird Plants.  I love Biking and Walking in the Summer Too!

There are many things I enjoy about summer;  long bike rides, sitting on the patio reading and sipping on a drink and all of the flowers and colors of the season.

I enjoy being with my Grandchildren for the Summer and swimming, quilting with them, and just being there form them.

We grow and EAT organic veggies and berries!  Right now picking the first tomatoes in MI...what could be better.  And picking blackberries to stew and eat over ice cream...nothing reminds me more of summer!

The vine-ripened local tomatoes, fresh-picked blueberries and corn. Those tastes cannot be surpassed with grocery store buys available throughout the year. We are a lucky nation to have such abundance so it is a "guilty pleasure", but a pleasure nonetheless. Then there is the beautiful ocean.

I love all the different local farmers markets that are open. I don't think I'll ever get over that feeling of "School's Out" when Summer arrives. It's so ingrained from childhood. It's like special permission to spend time any way you want to; which for me means sewing.

What I most enjoy about summer is simply having dinner with friends on our terrace when the sun is shining !

I love sitting on my patio swing enjoying the mountain view, and watching the birds at our birdbath and feeder, and love to go camping in the summer!

In summer, I most enjoy the warmth, the fresh air, the beautiful colors of flowers, kids being out of school, and going camping.

Summer is more relaxed living and love wearing tees, shorts, and being barefoot. It's also a good time to sew indoors as is so very hot.

The best thing this summer for me is to be able to do a little quilting.  It is my sanity, my diversion, and it makes me happy.  I am caretaking both of my parents 24/7 and being able to work with fabric releaves a lot of stress and tension.  Being able to get a little sewing in is what I like enjoy best about this summer.

Summer always takes me back to childhood fun, playing on the beach, climbing trees and exploring the neighbourhood with school friends.

Most of all, I enjoy the additional time with my children, the family vacations, and more personal time to sew, quilt, craft, and paint.

I love the sounds of summer.  The birds chirping, the leaves blowing, and most of all the sound of the waterfall in our pond.

Summer is my second favorite season..I truly enjoy gardening,bird watching,and craft shows galore..I get many new ideas for my crafting from them. Too many sometimes..LOL..

My favorite thing about summer is the smell of honeysuckle on a warm night.

This is truly a wonderful summer! My son landed a wonderful job after looking for 1+ year.  Then  I am taking my 3 year old grandson to his first swim lessons . He is doing better in the water and go down the slide now without freezing up. YEA Vincent!!!

spending the days at a quiet fishing village in Brittany, France with bright blue skies, turquoise seas and white caster sugar sand.........and non-one else in sight......mulling over the next patchwork projects .....fabulous.

I love all of the fresh veggies and fruits that come with summertime, especially homegrown tomatoes.

The abundance of fresh vegetables tops my list of summer favorites.  Not far behind are those naps during the frequent afternoon thunderstorms in this area.  I am sooooo blessed!

I love summer sunsets and evenings.  The temperature has cooled and it is perfect for enjoying the splendid colors and shapes of the summer late day sky.  It is especially great if you are on one of the eastern shores of the Great Lakes.  The deep blues of the water reflect the oranges and reds of the sun and clouds on the water.  I have even seen sunsets that were obscured by fog but reflect in the water.  Even better if you have someone with whom to share the sunset!

I like going to National Parks and hiking with my family.

The smells of summer - flowers, fresly cut grass.     The sounds of summer - children playing, birds and bees.  The feel of summer - the sun on my face, soft grass under my feet.  The sights of summer - the greens of trees, the fusion of many-colored flowers from the garden.   It's not summer without all of these!

I love summer because our humming birds are with us, and I enjoy watching them. And I love being able to go on float trips.

During the month of August all I plan to do is breath. It is very meditative and relaxing. It helps me plan for the remainder of the year including my quilting projects

I love CNY, but I miss the ocean and family. Two more weeks and I will be dipping my toes in the Atlantic, hugging my Dad, Uncles, Aunts and Cousins as I breathe in the sweet salt air. I can't wait!

I love sitting outside early in the morning with my cup of coffee, enjoying the peaceful tranquility you can only fine in the country.  Before all the farm trucks, road grader, etc.,etc., etc., lol!

I love the fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden. There's nothing better than the color and aroma when you bite into a just picked peach. Colors just seem more alive this time of year.

What I enjoy the most about summer is the  longer  day hours

The warmth of the sun on my face, the feel of the cool breeze and most of all the scent of the fresh salt air while daydreaming my next quilting project.

I too used to enjoy being outside in the sun, the long daylight hours, the flowers, the fresh fruits and veggies, fishing and some gardening.  Unfortuntely, due to illness and the Hot midwest weather I can only enjoy these things for short periods of time.  I am now spending more time inside than outside so I am trying to learn how to quilt, new crochet techniques (Knook) as I do know how to crochet, and plan on learning to sew (I do own a sewing machine).  I am hopefull that I will be able to teach my grandaughter these things too.

My favorite part of summer is sitting outside in the backyard on our deck enjoying all the sites and sounds of birds and bees. Every once in a while, we see a big buck or red fox run though the open space behind our property. It's wonderful.

Summer in New England not only provides a refreshing escape from cold weather clothing and heating bills, it brings a bit of excitement to the warm, sun-filled air. Everyone buzzes about to soak up as much outside time and seasonal wonders as possible. It's absolutely magical.

Summer for me is a time to relax and renew, to pursue those things I usually don't have time for (I'm a teacher) and to reflect on the beautiful world that I live in.

What I love most about summers is that my teacher friends are off work! We have 'sewing' get togethers twice a week!!!!!

Summer is the time of flowers, fruit, vegetables, grandkids, water fun, and more daylight for outdoor adventures.

Sun ripened produce right from the garden, watching little kids play in the splash fountains around the city and mainly spending time with my now retired husband in quiet peace, these are some of my favorite summer things.

I love the flowers and fresh fruit that comes with summer.  Tanned Grandchildren and late night swimming.

I'm loving this cool morning....sewing with the windows open.  What a relief from the heat!

I love my summer gardens in Ohio! Lilies, shasta daisies, black eyed susans! Bunches of cut flowers on my kitchen table just makes my day go better!

What I like most about summer is fresh tomato sandwichs and fresh cucumber salad. I also love quilting but love that all the time.

The most enjoyable part of summer is the days when I can take my fabric and paint outside and play - just create and not have to worry about getting paint on anything .

I love sleeping with the windows open and hearing the night sounds:  frogs, cicadas, screech owls, even the neighborhood cats!  And the soft summer rain.  So relaxing!  

Well, I am sorry to say that I don't really enjoy summers like I used to do. Earlier in my life I would be down the shore (up in the northeast) every weekend of the summer  swimming, shell collecting, building sand castles, et.c. Now I live in the south and most recently it has been too hot to even go outside except to take the dogs for a walk. Even then it is too darn hot but they insist on going so .. we go. Sometimes when I think of those early years, I can almost smell the salt marshes and water and hear the sounds of gulls, terns, and black skimmers squawking away. Looks like I might have to track down those fabrics for a "memories of summer" quilt.

Air conditioning is what I like best about summer! I like to be inside enjoying the cool air where I can sew and not have sweat rolling down my brow.

I love sitting on the deck and feeding all the new baby wildlife, birds, squirrels and hares - and I live in the middle of a city of 1 million people!

Here in southern British Columbia summer means hot days and warm evenings.  The best part of my summer day is joining my husband in the late afternoon for a visit in the gazebo, to enjoy the flower gardens we have built, to listen to the water fountain splashing, and to feel the warm breeze blowing through the gazebo.

My favorite part of summer time is swimming in the ocean.

I love to sit on the back of our Harley , riding !!!   today  it has cooled off finally , so I love having some windows open for fresh air !

4-H FAIR, SUNSHINE, and "The lazy hazy day of summer"

I am blessed with a porch facing west where there is always a slight breeze.. Around the porch you see four large evergreens. All day long you may sit in the cool of the shade, despite 100 degree heat, and experience every slight breeze streaming from the west. Your vision is captured and your ears are serenaded  by  red men, (cardinals),  blue men (blue jays),  robust orange bellies (robins), and the wrens, sparrows, and a yellow finch or two dancing about the neighborhood.  Ah, then you have the wonderful fragrance of milkweed flowers from the southern side, carried by the moving air to my front door.  Soon to follow are the  monarchs, tiger swallowtail or two,  and other friends who visit the flowers and plants in the yard, touching the land with peace, joy, life, and hope.

Living on an island in NW Washington State year round is wonderful, but the joy of that seashore breeze is magnificent on a warm summer afternoon.  Life is good!

I love being outside and seeing all my flowers blooming and watching the humming birds and all the other birds raising their babies.  Just sitting on my deck in early mornings when it is so quiet and peaceful is soothing and relaxing things I can imagine.

Getting up early, sitting at the large window in my sewing room and listening to the birds wake and sing. The singing starts my day off beautifully.

I really miss Maine summers! I spend most of my time here in an Idaho summer watering the garden. But we eat well and I still grow plenty of flowers. The best part of summer is ripe tomatoes fresh off the vine.

Summer means being out of school (I'm a teacher) and enjoying the opportunity to work on my crafts.

Oh, Summer in Arizona is a time to hibernate with a good sewing machine and wonderful fabrics. Then the monsoon comes and we have haboobs (massive dust storms) almost every day. On days that we are blessed to have a downpour after the haboob, it cools the temperatures that may have been 115 degrees down to 90. Thats when the neighborhood opens their doors and come out looking for any damage caused by lightning and wind.

I am a teacher, so the summer affords me the time to take my first cup of coffee down to my sewing room in the morning and play with a new idea, or see how yesterday's adventures look a day later. Sometimes these early morning ventures stretch well into the afternoon!

I grew up in Maine, so what I liked best about the summer was heading to the beach (ocean) to spend the day, collect shells, building sandcastles, and playing in the waves.  I could even manage to forget the sunburn that would result, and even the sand all in my bathing suit.  :-)  Great memories of the beach!

What I love most about summer is going up to Cape Cod for vacation. My Mom and Dad took us there every summer and the tradition has continued. I now have the joy of watching my grandbabies play at the beach.

Summer is so full of rejuvenation and inspiration. Our home is surrounded by 2000 acres of state land and in the lake effect snow belt of central NY.  Summer for us is taking advantage and appreciating all the outdoors has to give us.  My favorite summer activity is a walk with the dogs through the woods appreciating natures colors, sounds and hidden treasures, followed by relaxing on the deck with starry night skies, unpolluted by city lights or the sound of traffic.

I love the summer because of the warm weather, great fresh vegetables and the time I get to spend with my grandkids. Teaching children to love fabric and how easy it is to put things together. They have very interesting tastes....like the summer.

Sitting in the sun in the summertime, is the only time I really feel well.  I love to take a book to read or something to sew or knit and my dog and picnic in the park.  We sit on the little hill overlooking the dog run so we can watch the dogs play and have lovely afternoons.

Right now it is Queen Anne's Lace that is everywhere, and it's interspersed with purple chicory, Irish thistle, sweet peas and sunflowers. Wildflowers are everywhere here in West Virginia. They grow along the sides of the roads, in vacant lots and at the edges of my own property. I don't have to even leave home to I keep my vases full. West Virginia in the summer is  truly "almost heaven." to me. Fresh mountain air, clear mountain water, wildflowers everywhere! It doesn't get any better.

I love the relaxed pace and outdoor entertaining of the summer.

Oh, so many good things about summer. Long days with warm nights, warm days with fewer clothes, flowers and gardens growing, going barefoot, having birthdays, fun little festivals everywhere, going someplace new or an old favorite haunt, playing in the water, trying new things (like dyeing fabric), yummy fresh foods.... can you tell I LOVE summer?

SUNSHINE!  It's what I like about summer!

In my part of Oregon, the joke is that we have two seasons: winter and August!  I soak up summer--the heat, the riot of colors in the garden, the crisp blue sky-- knowing it's short lived.  

Summer revives and renews everything - including me. Sunshine makes me feel optimistic and strong, and I am biased to think that we have the most amazing clouds, sunsets and cool starry nights here in the southwest.

What I enjoy about the summer is the mornings and evenings. The mornings are fresh cool and optomistic feeling of a great day to get things done or just have fun. The evenings..after dusk...just to relax out on the patio in the cool breeze of the evening and calm down and relax from a busy day. I take my drawing pad/graph paper with me for the times an idea hits me to sketch a design for a quilt and just sip on some ice tea and watch the stars come out. Its even better if one of my grand daughters are with me..then we talk about "back in the day" when I was little!

Living in New England I love the wonderful sea breezes that cool the afternoon and evening.

There are so many things that are great about summer.....the wonderful fresh fruits and veggies from your backyard garden, beautiful flowering plants and shrubs, being able to wear light a breezy clothing, long daylight hours to enjoy your favorite activities, warm summer nights to relax in, county fairs, and the list goes on...... These fabrics would be great to express the freedom and beauty of summer.

I love the fact that in the warmer months you don't have to have so many extra clothes; i.e., coats, scarfs, mittens, and hats.  This even means less laundry and no messy, wet tracks into the house.

this summer was so much fun watching my great granddaughter Kelodeigh 3  running to the back yard waiting for the flowers to bloom. Once the colorful buds opened she choose purple as her favorite and would visit the flowers daily

My favorite part of summer is all the fresh fruit available.  I live in a northern state and winter can get kind of blah, especially in food.  I know you can get "fresh fruit" all year round but it really is "fresh" in the summer.

Well this will sound weird but my favorite thing about summer is lack of people. I live in south Florida and when the snow birds fly away for the summer it's lovely. No lines at restaurants, less traffic, parking places at the beach. yippee!

I love the birds and the bees, the flowers and the trees...I love everything about summer.  I love harvesting my garden and mowing the grass.  I especially like to sew/craft in my craft room that looks out on the beautiful wasatch mountains.  Often there are deer, mountain quail, pheasants, squirrels, etc. right out my window.

I live near the beach and love the constant changes out there. Finding treasures to use is like a holiday.

I like summer for the warm temps making it able for me to wear shorts and tops and feel young again.  I love to visit my brother-in-law on the east coast and enjoy the sea breezes, the gardens, and the lobster.  Would love the fabric, of course, to remind me of those days.

The summer is great for me.  I am a nature person at heart rather be outside than stuck inside all the time.  I like to take a cold drink set under my big oak tree in my swing.  I can watch the birds fly over, feel the breeze gently blow around me and hear the noise of grasshoppers as they jump by.  This to me is great and relaxing forgetting the worries of the day or problems that may have arisen.  Just enjoying life setting in my swing going back and forth gently taking in the day.

What I enjoy most about summer are the warm summer storms. There's just something about the way the air smells, the vibrant green of the trees against the deep purple clouds & the pops of blue/white flashes darting across the sky. There's nothing quite like sitting out on my front porch during these storms, just taking it all in!

So many things... Seattle is beautiful in the summer- even when it is raining. Still light until 10pm! And I love that I have the opportunity to spend more time with my Mom who teaches so she is off in the summer.

I love sitting on my deck, feeling the light summer breeze blow, and doing hand work.

The cute clothes you can make out of the many different prints on the market, which are usually made in cotton and/or polyester!  In winter you have to dress warm where I am from and you just don't find the lively beautiful prints in heavier fabric.  I love to sew for my granddaughter and the creativity just seems to come alive with summer apparel.

Just like when I was a kid - summer is freedom!  More time to spend with family and friends, traveling, daydreaming and reading.  Too hot outside?  Then time to plan and complete new quilts and projects under the cool inside air.  Best time of the year!!

In Texas, we try to stay inside with our air conditioning.  So my favorite spot is in my studio, playing with fabrics, paints and threads.  I envy the coolness in summer of the northern states, but love our winters here.

I love the flowers and vegetables in my gardens. I have a greenhouse, but it is just not the same as being outside working in the dirt and seeing the produce from your efforts.

What do I like most about summer - AIR CONDITIONING!  (I live in Phoeniz, AZ).  

Summer is for fun.  No coats or gloves.  Sitting on my porch of an evening enjoying the sunset, or watching my grandson play on the grass.  When the canyon breeze comes down in the evening with it's icy feel, it is exhilarating and heavenly.

The best part of my summers has always been the activities that bring me closest to the sea.  I love visiting the local lighthouse, strolling along the boardwalk and collecting shells along the shoreline.

Fresh corn on the cob, cooking out (in the evening!), biking around my hometown and the country roads, having grandkids over to stay and play are the best parts of summer in Illinois. It's too hot this year to enjoy some of this, but another year will be better! Love that Cuzco roll! The bright colors with white says "hot time in the summer"!!

I think the thing I enjoy most about Summer is that I get fresh fruit and veggies out of the garden. All that hard work is worth it for crisp corn on the cob and juicy berries!

It's the most wonderful time of the year, there are quilt shows right here and quilters to cheer!   Everything is green, the roadside is bright with flowers of all colors and the sky is an amazing shade of blue.   Al fresco suppers on the deck and sewing with all the windows open are some of the favorite things I do in the summer.

What do I love about summer? Everything! It's the perfect season to enjoy life on the beautiful island I am blessed to live on. I also love strolling the beach to see if some inspiring shells or driftwood washed up. Free craft supplies!

Since I live in Hawaii, I have the warm sunshine, flowers, and beaches all year long.  So in the summer, I love the fresh fruits that come from the mainland U.S. - peaches, nectarines, blueberries, raspberries, cherries.

Fresh Tomatoes From The Garden!

I am blessed to have lived in THE OCEAN STATE all my life(60yrs). What more could I say about the ses breezes that are never more than 20 minutes away and the beautiful gardens and the wild flowers in the rural area that I live in. WE are the smallest state in the union, yet we have busy cities, large and small towns,old mill villages, farms, woodlands, and of course lots of seashore and fresh water lakes and ponds, What more could anyone want?

Summer is picking berries in my "strawberry fields forever" garden and then either eating them warmed by the sun or sprinkled over home-made ice cream.

Summer is a time to create, new ideas arise just like the flowers and all the little creatures. It is a breathe if fresh air for getting out to go to the beach and take photos of all creation.  We have to have ideas for the winter when we are indoors so much.

In Wisconsin winter nights and darkness come early.  When summer comes I enjoy the extended daylight hours.  The fabric looks lovely for future projects.  Thanks for the chance!

I have not enjoyed the  very hot days we have had in Pennsylvania this year.  I  do love the vacation we take in  Rockport Mass. each year.   Sun, ocean, relaxing with a book and the good seafood... all you need.   The one roll of flowery fabrics looks like the Cosmos flowers I see blooming in many gardens in Rockport.  

best parts of summer are seeing whats new blooming in my garden each day, picking and eating from my raspberry patch, visiting the ocean and shore.

All the amazing things coming out of my garden. Zucchini's, sweet peas and my tomatoes are finally turning a brilliant red!

Living in a northern cool climate, my favorite part of summer is just the absolute joy of walking outside on a warm (or even hot) summer day, even if the walk is as simple as just going to the mailbox and back, feeling the sun's warmth on my skin.

The best thing about summer is the fact that you are free to go outside and stay as long as you can, with out a coat or jacket!  I hate wearing a coat!  Summer just makes everything easier and brighter!!

I think what I most enjoy about summer is the FREEDOM....freedom from heavy shoes, so I can wiggle my toes in the sand at the Jersey shore, or in my backyard in the grass (altho watch the dog poop!).....freedom from heavy coats - just throw on shorts and a t-shirt, some flip flops and off we go.   Also....Freedom from the darkness...it is lighter so much later that I feel I have more time after work to do fun things....like SEW!   Everyone enjoy their summer, it will be over before we know it!!

I love that my children are home with me for the summer. They make me so ver happy being here.

The best things about summer are finally being able to slow down when the kids are out of school.  I then have the time to sleep in if wanted, enjoy the outdoors more, daydream about the projects I want to accomplish and most of all spend more time with my kids while making those projects.  A couple of my kids just love looking through fabrics and coming up with ideas for them and it warms my heart to be able to do it with them.

Most definitely the best thing of summer is the kids getting out of school and then I finally have the time to slow down and enjoy life.  I can spend more time with them doing all the things we love.  A couple of my kids absolutely love looking over all my fabrics and help come up with ideas for them..  Some of them ideas are wonderfully inventive.

Summer in central Florida is nothing like summer in New England and certainly not like summer in Chicago, where I lived for many, many years. Yes, it's hot--but if you go out in the early morning or evening, the air is pleasant, comfortable and delightfully scented with crepe myrtle and four o'clocks. Just as dawn arrives and the barred owls retreat to their roosts, the swallowtail kites take wing and soar with elegant grace overhead. Soon they'll be migrating to South America, and we won't see them again until April. But the owls stay and laugh together all night, all year. Summer in our part of Florida is a blessing I could never have imagined until we moved here.

I loive to hear the crickets and cicadas singing in the evenings.

I enjoy having my children and grandchildren and extended family together at the beach.  We spend our days swimming, floating, building sandcastles and sand creatures, watching live sea turtles tend their nests, blowing bubbles and playing board games at night after big meals we cook for one another.  

Summer at the beach is all about family; reconnecting, family traditions, and loving one another, especially the young ones.

It's those soft summer nights that I love.

I work in a quilt shop in the summer (scool during the school year) and love teaching sewing and quilting.  I love getting students excited about what they are making, and giving as many tips as I can to make thing interesting for them.

The wildflowers at the side of the road. The color of the sky after a thunderstorm. The sound of children playing. The riot of green and color in the garden. These are a few of the things I like about summer.

Oh summer, the time to enjoy the great out-of-doors, the canning and jelly making to enjoy the rest of the year.  Plus being able to set up a quilt frame outside and enjoy the fresh air while quilting.  

All the extra light, both quality and quantity; sitting in the park at one of our many music festivals; time to spend with family and friends; late night walks with beautiful breezes; watching the power of nature in the thunderstorms; seeing the plants growing with the broad spectrum of colours. In fact, if it wasn't for the darned heat, summer would probably be my favourite season.

Things I enjoy about summer are the wonderful scents that are around us. When walking through the garden during a sunny day -  a great smelling flower, and in the evening sitting by a camp fire- smells great!

Planning a late summer vacation so I enjoy home and garden during most of summer but going away before fall returns!

It has to be a tie between gardening and walking on a beach at the beginning or end of the day. I watch flowers, bushes and trees come in bloom as the summer progresses and I enjoy their beauty and the magic of it all. Forget-me-knots, redbud trees, lillies, iris, lavender, roses, clematis, coreopsis, hollyhocks, and now the brown-eyed susans and purple cone flowers that the gold finches can't get enough of. Top that off with a stroll on the beach at sunset with my dog and husband and that is a perfect summer day.
