I just got back from attending my first Houston Quilt Festival. I had a blast from start to finish and the show seemed to fly by. I just wanted to share some of my show highlights with all of you!
One of my favorite things was the graffiti wall in the Make It University!™ section. It was amazing to see the progress made throughout the show! This wouldn’t have been possible without Ilovetocreate.com who sponsored the wall! At the beginning the wall was blank, and progress could be clearly seen every day!

One of my favorite parts of the wall was this amazing face drawn by our very own Muppin (aka Cheryl Sleboda)!

Another part of the show that I loved was seeing all of the kids, who are the next generation of quilting and mixed media artists, who were so excited to participate in all that the festival had to offer!

Artists came and shared their techniques with passerbys in the Open Studios section

We had a fun filled time on Saturday night with Surviving the Runway: Carmen Miranda style.

We even got a security gaurd to join in on the festivities!

Overall it was a great show filled with new techniques, fun, laughter, friends, and of course art!
