Quilting Arts TV has a new home, and a makeover!

28 Jan 2011

Hi guys!

I am excited to announce that the Quilting Arts TV site has a new home, and a makeover!

Within the next few days (if you haven’t already gotten it) you should be getting an email explaining your log in information and any password changes that may have occurred to your account.  Be sure to check your junk mail, just in case it somehow landed there!

The site is now part of Quilting Arts Daily (aka the Quilting Arts Community), meaning that you now only have 1 password to access all of the goodness that Quilting Arts has to give you, from free magazine online extras to Quilting Arts TV directions.  We have made the site easier to navigate and also easier to download and print instructions. Don’t worry – all the same information is there AND the Series 700 instructions are now available.

We hope you love this new site as much as we do!

To celebrate this new transition I am giving away a Series 700 DVD collection! Please comment and let us know what your favorite QATV segment has been in order to qualify! The winner will be picked February 8th and announced in a new blog post!

Lindsey

I really enjoyed Segments 713 Unique Quilt Embellishments. Especially the dying embellishments with Dianne Giancola. But then I haven't seen a episode that I haven't enjoyed yet. Keep up the great work!

I am unable to get this program. I do have a friend that watches every now and then, she always calls me and tells me what I have missed. It sounds like an awesome program. I keep searching with hopes I can find it in my area one of these days.

It's hard to pick just ONE segment!!  But I think all of the "Save my UFO" segments have been very helpful in assisting me when I "get stuck" in the design process.

Any segment with printing on fabric, whether it's stamps, silkscreening  or stenciling- it inspires me to make fabric that is truly mine!  But I love all of the ideas and want to try every one!

I would LOVE to win series 700. I have purchased 500 and 600 as well as a couple of individual ones. My favorite, so far, is episode 505 about rubbing techniques with paintsticks (shelly stokes)

I like the segments with Susan Brubaker Knapp.  Her projects are easy to understand and help me be more creative than I had any idea that I could be.

My favorite segment was with Jay McCarroll (first winner of project runway).   He is hilarious and it is great to see a man, and a fashion designer embracing contemporary quilting.

I like all of the surface design segments -- can't possibly pick just one!

I keep petitioning my local station to add Quilting Arts to their line up but no luck yet so I have not seen an episode. But I am saving my pennies so I can buy the DVDs and catchup on all the great projects and lessons! Thanks for having such a great group of inspiration!

I really enjoyed episode 505? with Shelly Stokes. I bought all the paint-sticks and then started playing with mixed media. I need to get those paints out and play! In actuality I love every episode I've seen so far. Your show, just like the magazine is so inspiring!!

I agree with "Something Lisa" who said any segment with Melly Testa. But I also liked episode 610, especially the soft-sculpture birds.

I always catch the show when I can!

I am not sure I have a favorite segment, I love them all. All I can say is keep making them!

I liked the show where the UFOs were introduced.

The technique that I've seen and am dying to try is fabric made from fused plastic bags. I just wish each week's episode could be streamed somewhere (QA site or PBS video site, eg) because it airs early on Saturday mornings here so I don't catch it very often.

I loved the episode with the liquid crayons used to paint.  All of them are great.  Really hard to pick!

I just discovered Quilting Arts TV and magazine a couple of months ago and I feel like a whole new world of creativity has opened up for me.  I've enjoyed every episode I've seen.  I'm in awe of the projects of each one of the artists.  They've inspired me to finally allow myself the time to "play" with stitching and art.

I find I love all the segments especially the one that deal with surface design.

Mary Hetts is a favorite. I like the metal embellishments

I dont get the shows on tv but  i purchased Kerr Grabowskis's  Adventures in surface design DVD. I definitely got my money's worth just in chapter 1.  I would love to get the 700 Series.

I enjoy what I have seen so far of Quilting Arts TV.  I always enjoy a segment by Susan Brubaker Knapp.  Not that I don't enjoy all the others!

Keep it up.  I found out that KSPS shows Quilting Arts TV on Thursdays at 2:30 p.m. local time, so I'll have to find a way to tape them, instead of having to wait for the DVD to come out.
