Last week I had the fortune of attending the Quilting Arts TV taping for series 800 (which will be aired in June of this year).
This trip was rather exciting for me, because I was FINALLY seeing how the tapings were done. Before I started working full time as an assistant editor, I was an intern with Quilting Arts/Interweave for many years. One of my biggest jobs was to review the QATV DVDs before the episodes were aired and were duplicated and shipped out to customers. (I know, I have an awesome job!). I also help populate the website with the many projects and interviews that are online extras from the show. You can check them out here: http://www.quiltingdaily.com/blogs/qatv_series_700/home.aspx.
After spending so much time reviewing the disks and editing the projects, I was thrilled when I found out that I would be getting to see the first step of the whole process, the actual taping. So it was with great excitement and anticipation that I boarded the plane in Boston to fly to Cleveland to go to the taping.
The taping exceeded my expectations! It was so cool to see what the set actually looked like, to meet the people who work behind the scenes to help make Quilting Arts TV so great, and to meet the artists that are truly the main ingredient in the success of QATV.
So here are a few images that were taken at the taping, so you can all get a behind the scenes look as well!

Guest Ana Buzzalino with Pokey
The AMAZING piece of art Ana gifted me to hang in my kitchen!
Bernina's very own Jeanne Delpit, Pokey, Helen, and me in the green room!
Pokey with a picture of her Min Pin, Louie. Wait until you see what Faith Cleary did with this image!
Brian putting a mic on Pokey (He mentioned we always take pictures of him doing this, but never post them. So here you go Brian!)
Me, Pokey, and Helen at the taping!
I also got some great video footage of behind the scenes action - so keep an eye on the Quilting Arts Facebook page for new video footage!
