I purchased some decolorant recently and would love to play with it on some bright batiks and maybe try it with some new stencils I bought.  

The "Quilt Hags" (a group of quilting friend) are getting together to do a batik fabric swap for a scrap quilt that we are going to make at a retreat in May. Oh...and we are eating Lasagna too :-)

I'm starting a new busy  and I'm working on it this weekend :) I have taken old jeans and cut them up and I'm drawing on the with beautiful markers and the taking that fabric and making wallets, make-up bag and small bags. I'm very scared because I have never shared myself like this but OMG the response to what I'm making is wonderful!!! I have great friends they keep ordering new one from me, it helps when I'm buying fabric for inside the bags everyone has been giving me their old jeans for free LOVE them!!! <3

I am going to TRY and finish a portrait quilt of my daughter and granddaughter - it's taken a long time, but I think I'm nearing completion!  I appreciate all the experience of the portrait quilters who have posted their art and comments!

Just getting over the winter cold & coughing bug so will spend the weekend making my mind better by finishing up a few UFO's including two wall hangings to help change my powder room theme.  Big, bright flowers! Yippee! Spring is just around the corner.

I am not going to do a thing. I am recovering from 3 colds back to back and will eat out, watch TV and perhaps knit or sew something, if I feel so inclined.... )

I will be keeping my hubby fed while he does some work on a kitchen project.

This weekend I will be working on my "homework" from a class I am taking. Learning how to applique felt using embroidery stitches and also applying beads to felt in various techniques. The resulting pieces will be put together in a felt/bead book as a resource and, I might add, a beautiful piece of fabric art that will find its way to display on my coffee table. I love working with all types of textiles and I am taking courses through the Gail Harker Creative Studies Center in La Conner, WA. AND, I love every page of Quilting Arts Magazine~

Going to a Home show, and working on my first full size quilt.  It's part of a Monthly quilt square.  Wish me luck!

I plan to have a nice, quiet weekend in my studio doing some UFO work.

I'll finish ironing some new fabric, and spend some time working on a new project.  Saturday evening is our "All Night Sew," so I'll be there until about 1 am!  We do this once a month, and it is great fun, of course!

I plan on overhauling my closet and drawers and getting rid of a lot of things I don't wear, and then rewarding myself with a trip to the fabric shop to get backing for a quilt top I just finished.:-)

I VERY on purpose joined a finish your UFOs group and that commitment and accountability is my driving force! I am working my way down the pile with prepping my crazy quilt blocks as a reward!

I'm attending and working our local quilt guild show.  There are 204 quilts entered and I entered two of mine.  I'm very nervous as this is the very first quilt show I've ever entered.

For Christmas I treated myself to a new sewing machine, a Janome MC7700 Horizon.  I have so enjoyed learning my way around this beauty, my first computerized machine.  As much as I loved my old Pfaff, I found it was limiting my ability to try new techniques and the quilting capacity was a bit clunky. So now that I have semi-mastered the 250+ stitches, this weekend I'm going to do some more work on an art quilt wall hanging and start quilting a baby quilt  that might even get finish before the baby arrives! Oh and one last thing: the new machine and its accompanying Horn table required a reorganisation of my sewing room and I need to add some better lighting options.

I'm taking a quilting class from one of our guild members on circles.  It should be fun and I'm heading to the kitchen to make my pasta salad for the pot luck we always have

I have to go shopping for a jelly roll but would this not be convenient!

This weekend I plan on doing a little sewing, as well as spending time with some friends visiting from out of town.

Well my husband and I are going on a wine tasting trip for his sister's birthday. It'll be a total of 3 couples. It'll be nice to have some adult time. That's Saturday and hopefull Sunday we can shop for some new fabric for an applique and embroidery quilt kit that I bought. The designs are of trouts and I'm so excited and nervous about it. I plan to make two, one for my wonderful husband and the other for my wonderful father in law.  Wish me luck!  I would love to see the quilt that you were embarrased about. What was it that made you embarassed?  This quilt I plan to start  Sunday will be my 3rd somewhat 'real' quilt with a true binding and hand quilting. I hope it turns out well.  :)

I will be keeping my 17 month old granddaughter Saturday, but I hope to finish the bumper pads for her little sister, who is due next month.

This Saturday I am joining my mini group the Saturday Sewers, I plan to work on my a quilt for my Guild's latest challenge for our up comimg Quilt Show. I also plan to work on my "homework" for a upcoming retreat this weekend.

if the weather cooperates, then sunprinting is on my agenda. if the sun refuses to shine or the weather stays cold, then i will stay indoors and try using potato dextrin as a resist to paint/dye some fabric. i think lisa kerpoe is my new hero!

I'm sewing beads onto a quilt.

I am finishing up a quilt for a challenge. We had to use a piece of fabric provided and the theme was the letter "H". My quilt is "The Harvest"; I used blocks from Ruth McDowell's "Pieced Vegetables". Very challenging blocks, and also I challenged myself to free motion quilt it myself, something I have not done very much of.

Working on two challenge quilts with deadlines coming up. One for the Norwegian Quilt show in March, theme: "The ocean...", and one for the Nordic Quilt Meet in Denmark in May, theme hard to translate accurately, "On its way" or "Coming..." I guess would cover it.  So, back to the needle and thread, my fingers are sore!

Quilting !! I have gotten two quilts done this week so far  (UFO's) and now a new project, the top is done... tomorrow I will quilt it ! It feels so great to be productive.  Thanks for the opportunity to win such a great prize !

I'm finishing the machine quilting on a class sample, and then starting work on a challenge quilt for my guild!

I had the carpet cleaned today, so tomorrow I put the house back together. Then it's back to the quilt I am designing! It will be a GREAT day!

Saturday I will be going to see a play-Gypsy at my local community theatre in the evening and during the day working on an Art quilt I started at a class at Road to

California.  On Sunday I will be at my friend's house using her longarm machine to

quilt my challenge quilt for my local guild.

My plans include loading a twin size quilt on my HQ16 to begin work on a prop for a local theater group. I need to simulate a hedge for a background prop. I'll be quilting large leaves all over & then adding dimensional leaves cut from a lightweight fabric. Should be fun trying something new! Once finished, I get to do it all again, as they need 2 hedges to drape over fences. Wish me luck . . .

Today is make-a-sweatshirt-jacket day for me.

I am cleaning my sewing room and rearranging.  I am getting rid of the trundle under the daybed and using that area for bin storage to free up space in the closets, which are very shallow.

Am spending my Saturday working on my 1st landscape quilt - took my 1st class in landscape quilting last weekend right after I broke 2 bones in my foot.  Can't walk much but CAN sew!  Have lots of time to read my Quilting Arts magazines!!!  

Since the guild portrait challenge quilts are due in 2 weeks, I thought I'd better get going and get mine done. I finally got all the prizes together (including season 800 of QA) for the Viewer's Choice Award when I realized I hadn't even started mine. Sure wish it would snow about a foot so I could get some snow dyeing done!

I am working on my first ever contest entry to Quilting Arts!  I am going to enter the created  from your own sketch contest in March.  Excited and nervous!!

I hosted Porkapaluza on Saturday and on Sunday I worked on a wall quilt I'm making for my son from some of his old band T-shirts
