My husband and I have been exchanging homemade "scratch-off" Valentine's Day cards all throughout the day (we work together).  He'll hit the gym and I'll go home and make us dinner and dessert from "Intercourses," the aphrodesiac cookbook ... he already brought me roses last night.  And then I think we'll sit on the couch to watch a romantic comedy on DVD while I sew some handwork applique.  A lovely day for us!  Thanks for the chance to win!  I would love some cabbages with my Valentine's Day roses!!

I plan to craft handmade valentines for my hubby and my daughter, then kick back with some wine and chocolates this evening, with vintage 60s-era Beatles' love songs in the background.

My husband needs exercise so I thought the loving thing to do was to get him out for a good walk.  We walked along the sea side had a lovely lunch out and then he cooked a fantastic dinner.  He also downloaded my soap so I could watch them one after the other and enjoy them.  So nice.

Hope you are having a great Valentines Day. We don't have any real plans today. I wanted to meet my husband at work for lunch today but he worked off site so that didn't happen. I think we plan to just make a nice dinner at home and share it with our kiddos 12-16. Thank you for the chance to win some fabric!

Bought some blooming hyacinths that smell divine!  Have the table set with all the appropriate colors with some hearts scattered around.  Preparing a very nice meal for my wonderful husband of 45 years.

My husband and i wil share supper that i cook then a cup of coffee .Then he will go to the barn and i will go sew.

My hubby has requested steak on the grill tonight for dinner. We live in TX and it's 67 out side today, so steak it is!! Then brownies and a movie at home!  I already made heart shaped rose and lavender sachets for my friends!  Thanks for the give away!

This would be the best valentine's I have gotten in a long time!  Love fabric and the smell of fabric is better than the smell of flowers!  Beautiful colors and never fades away!!!  

I have no real plans either. I plan on doing some quilting this afternoon and then when my daughter gets home from work we will sit down and have dinner. If she didn't have to bring work home she will probably have homework to do so we will watch some t.v. and love on our 8 dogs. Life is good!

Since I live alone I will be watching some of my favorite tv shows tonight after a busy day on the internet with quilting friends and telling everyone that I love them. Just being alone doesn't mean you are lonely!

Such pretty fabrics for Valentines Day!! Being a stay at home mom with a senior in high school, I started my day by making my hubby two heart shaped cooked eggs, then I made him heart shaped peanut butter cookies, and plan on making spicy rum pork chops for dinner...after he gets home from the gym!! We stay home on Valentines night because it's just too crazy trying to find a resturant thats not all booked up!! Thanks for the chance to WIN!!!

We actually don't like braving the crowds in restaurants on Valentine's Day, so my husband and I had dinner and a movie this past weekend--and tonight, just staying in with a home-cooked meal! I surprised him this morning, though, by buying iced coffee k-cups for his new Keurig and setting them on the table in a heart! Haha, cheesy, I know, but it's always the personalized thoughts that count. :)

LOVE MODA! Well I visited with an 89 year old man that lost his wife a few months ago and I brought him some homemade cookies.

Happy Valentine's Day.  For my partner and I it's the most romantic day of the year because it's our anniversary - 28 years together and loving every minute of it. After going out to dinner, we'll come home and he's actually going to help me finish a wall hanging.  Yeah!  And then we'll think of something special to do.  VBG Cabbages and roses would be a romantic reminder of this special day.  Hope I win.

Planning on a family dinner with four generations! We're having a birthday/Valentines dinner. My dad would have been 88 this year, his birthday was the 13th, but we like to get the whole family together, as much as possible, and celebrate! So we are all meeting at mom's house and my hubby the chief will do a majority of the cooking, with everyone lending a hand. We exchange homemade cards and gifts. This year I made mom a little wall hanging with a photo transfer of her and dad on their wedding day in the center of a heart. It is one of my favorite pictures of the two of them together. Family, food, flowers, candy and crafting! The perfect day!

Seriously could anyone have a better job than you all do? I could only wish that I could spend even a small part of my day in the office making fiber art! I am so jealous! I love your publications and the creativity that you share, and I look forward to my copy of Quilting Arts every single month and read them again and again and again. Giving all of you LOVE today for just being so wonderful!  Oh and of course adding to my stash, that would just be an extra added bonus.  Happy day to all of you!

My husband and I gave each other the gift of better vision.  We just had back to back eye doctor appointments and helped pick out new frames for each other.  Now we look stylish and will see better as well.  I'll be seeing better to do my quilting.  My husband will be seeing better to appreciate all my hard work.  I would love to win the Cabbage and Roses fabric from Moda as the rose is my very favorite flower and everyone loves floral prints.  Happy Valentine's Day!

I, too, plan on cooking a wonderful dinner for my hubby: grilled NY steaks, fettucini with lowfat alfredo sauce and brocolini. For dessert, creme brulee.  Yum! We usually have a special meal for Valentine's day at home because restuarants can get crazy. I'll light some candles, play some romantic tunes, open that bottle of Zinfandel wine and dim the lights. Lindsey I will be enjoying the beautiful flowers my husband brought me before he left for a business trip, while I am sewing a quilt for my daughter to give a friend on her 30th birthday.  The quilt has appliqued hearts on it.

It happens to also be my birthday, so DH and I always go out to eat, but since we both work from home, we go early afternoon when it isn't so busy!  I always eat too much, so I bring dessert home and we eat it later on insted of having supper! My family (both our children and my siblings and mother) have always loved that my birthday is shared with Valentine's day, so it's a special holiday in our family!  

I love to read everyone's little romantic ways of showing the love to each other. For us, we have been married 40 years. It is financially hard to do much this year however, my husband was so proud to find me a card and I gave him a good sized Hershey's Chocolate Kiss in red foil. We will eat our meal and top it off with cheesecake with cherries on top.   Happy Valentine's to all of you Sweethearts out there! MJ

Being married forever we celebrate our love everyday. My 1st Valentine's Day gift to my hubby was a big card telling him I was pregnant so it is kinda hard to beat that!  This year I received a funny card and a box of Russell Stover candies.  Tonight I am fixing him his favorite meal and we will watch our favorite TV shows. I have yoyo's to sew and will enjoy a warm evening inside.

Had lunch with my girls from Bible Study and spending the evening with my sweet husband.  We'll have a special lunch tomorrow!

My husband is cooking me my favorite dinner (smothered chicken) and we'll watch a little telly while I do handstitching... then, who knows?

You and I must have a lot in common.  I love fabric and this fabric is just delicious!  My wonderful husband is cooking dinner for the two of us tonight and is making my favorite, crab legs.  Saturday evening will be my Valentine's present to him and we're having a date night and going to see The Vow at a local theater where you can eat dinner while you're watching a movie.  We haven't been there before, so we're making it a special evening seeing a romantic movie.  Happy Valentine's Day to you, too!

Unfortunately, our Valentines Day plans changed a bit because our day started off kinda sad with a funeral to go to and a cranky 9 month old who didn't get the nap she needed due to the funeral, but ended up quite nicely with a steak dinner at home with mom and dad. It was nice and quiet and we didn't have to wait forever to get a table :)

At my husband's request I made his favorite pumpkin cream cheese muffins for Valentines day!  Otherwise a quiet evening at home.

I am spending the afternoon with sewing friends for V-Day. It's hard being a Single "Old Maid" on Valentine's day. Guess I will curl up with my date" Patches" the Cat tonight and do needlework. Happy Valentine's Day everybody!

Lovely fabric - what fun it would be to win it! I made my hubby a nice dinner last night as he had a meeting to go to this evening. So today I got to sew!

No plans. Just try to make everyday a little bit of a valentine, although I did give him lots of his favorite candies.

Until 3 years ago, I hated Valentine's DAy. Bad memories with my ex-husband and my mother's death was on Valentine's Day. This all changed when Ron came into my life. Did I receive flowers or jewelry...No, but I did receive his love for me. He supports my sewing, even though sometimes he really does not understand what I am attempting to say; he never complains about my addiction to material and quilting books. Yesterday he surprised me with a bouquet of 3 roses and today we are going to jump into my JEEP and go see the country-side. We hope to find a small out-of-the way resturant for lunch and spend the rest of the day driving in the country. Hope you and the rest of the readers have a great Day.....Linda

My husband and I own a small tire store, he isn't much for sweets, so today I ordered pasta with ricotta and meatballs for a lunch for a treat.  I feel guilty just bringing the food for him, so I ordered enough for all of my employees to thank them for all the hard work they do!  Boy, that food disappeared in no time!

I got up early to stitch some Valentines day backpack charms for my students today. We had a wonderful dinner - unfortunately it was selected by my 12-year-old, so it wasn't terribly romantic.  He did suggest that I cut the pepperonis into heart shapes  :-)  But... if Valentine's Day is about love, being together as a family is a great way to celebrate!

We also made Valentines from fabric hearts with my little grandniece on February 14 (we actually started the prior week). She selected the fabrics and drews the hearts on them, then glued them to the card.  Turned out well for such a little one.

Now, for me, prefer the grander scale of winning some Cabbage and Roses fabric to make a quilt. Thanks for the sweet Valentine's Day giveaway.

My husband and I have been together 30 years.  We don't spend our money on expensive cards and flowers.  Just usually have a nice quiet dinner at home.  This year we brought our daughter home for the weekend from college a 3 1/2 hour drive.  My husband cooked a nice prime rib for us girls (and her boyfriend).  On Valentines day my husband went missing.  I called him on his cell phone.  Where are you?  I'm at price chopper, it's a mad house here people trying to get flowers!  He sounded frantic.... I told him don'r buy me flowers, just bring home a loaf of french bread.  He did.  We had french dip.  Our leftovers from dinner with our daughter.  ♥

This is one of those years when Valentine's Day almost passed by without noticing, just due to busy life.  We did exchange cards and candy (plus sent a care package to our daughter in college).  The good thing is, whenever we finally get to celebrate, it will be wonderful!

For Valentine's Day, I took my husband and son to a "Chocolate Overdose" event at our library by Chef Michael Niksic, the Food Mercenary. He offered 5 courses with chocolate for us, Grapes with white chocolate sauce, apples with milk chocolate sauce, strawberries dunked in chocolate mousse, and 2 cakes with sauces. It was divine! As I became an "honorary" gramma on Sunday (the 12th), I spent the evening working on her "welcome baby" Valentine quilt. Hearts everywhere. Not to worry it isn't finished, she received lots of other "pink" stuff from her grammy.

I spent a quiet day on Valentine's . . . my husband passed away over 5 years ago.  I have 3 beautiful adult daughters and they all gave me lovely little surprises - an original quilt by Malka Dubrawsky (!), farm fresh eggs (they are the very best), and a handmade bracelet with silver celtic hearts as part of the design.  The gifts were not the important part of the day, it is the love within our family that is the best gift, a treasure to always cherish.  

Beautiful fabric! Without really planning or intending it that way, we have celebrated a Valentine's Week instead of day. On Monday we had all our family over for dinner, on Valentine's Day, my husband and I enjoyed a 'no cooking' night by eating leftovers and also on that day I called my son whose home is undergoing quite a few renovations and ordered dinner for he and his wife and two children from Cracker Barrel. They were most appreciative as the men just happened to be working in their kitchen on that day.

Then Wednesday night I prepared our official Valentine meal of filet mignon and a huge baked potato. We don't eat as much as we used to so we split the filet and still had quite a feast.

Thursday I got to keep my two little grandaughters..my husband teases me and tells me I come home looking like I have been in Heaven. He is right! They bring me so much joy.

Today we drove over to a friends home (he is a shut in and the most cheerful fellow in spite of his circumstances) . My husband made muffins which we took to him and I cut his hair. After that we went to an Italian restaurant and split a delicious meal of salad and pizza which we paid for with a card we received at Christmas when we purchased gift cards for our children from the restuarant.

All in all it has been a week filled with love. The perfect Valentine week.

I just won something from you recently so I don't expect to be picked but the gift has been in the writing down of this wonderful week! I had not stopped to really be  thankful for the wonderful week it has been. HAPPY VALENTINES WEEK,

I wasn't with my husband for Valentines Day, but we exchanged cards, and had a very loving phone conversation.  I also called my 85-year-old Mom to wish her a Happy Valentines day.  Overall, it was a very good day.

My husband was out of town so I cooked a romantic dinner for my daughter and her new boyfriend.  I dropped it at her house along with some candles, and flowers.  She works late every day and I just wanted to show her and her boyfriend a nice romatic dinner, since I wouldn't be having one.  Oh, yeah, I mailed my honey a card.

I started out the day making heart shaped "love" notes from red construction paper..left the notes in his tea pot...taped to his razer...on the door frame as he left for work, and in his car.  Made a nice dinner, wine a triple chocolate cake..and then we sipped wine in the hot tub.  (I've been married to the same man 30 years) Girl you just have to keep it young!

Since I had to work on Valentine's Day, my husband and I had dinner out the weekend before.

Would love to win, and since Valentine's Day was earlier this week, I will share what I did.  I made my daughter who is a nurse a V-Day scrub set which turned out really pink&white cute!  I then spent the morning making hand-made valentines for my granddaughters from scraps, ribbon, old jewelry and lace, doilies and pink cardstock.  My husband took me out to a nice lunch the day after to celebrate.

Love cabbage rose fabric!  Sorry this post is late.  Just got a chance to check my personal emails. It's tax season and my husband is a CPA.  We did manage to sneak off to his favorite local steak house, for a wonderful meal at the days end.  He surprised me with a bouquet of lisianthus (purple & white) and a stuffed frog too. My family collects frogs as we were born in Calaveras County where the jumping frog story was written and contest is still held.  I got him a canvas print of our litter of beagles.  We always go for a long romantic getaway after tax season.  Thanks for doing the giveaway!

I love LOVE too, my plans for Valentines Day are easy, I am loving myself by sewing to keep all the fabric moving right along. I love to sew for the local guild Kuilts4Kids program. My best friend and Valentine is working out of town so we will celebrate on Sunday with a long leisurely breakfast and great conversation. Just being together is a great day anytime.

I told my husband he did not have to give me anything for Valentine's day because I bought an extension table for my sewing machine so I can do some quilting.  He is a wonderful husband and I love him very much.  I had to work on Valentine's day  and it is Mardi Gras season here so people are all at parades in the City of New Orleans that day.

My husband & I have been married 35 years - and he always brings me flowers! He travels with his job, so if he can't be home on Valentine's day, he sends them to me!

This year we celebrated by having a Snowmobiling Weekend! 1 day riding in the beautiful mountains, 2 evenings at a winter resort, sitting by the fireplace in our cabin! Very romantic!

Chocolate day!  My "significant other" and I bought a chocolate cake and a bag of Valentine M&M's and munched on them all day.  We just didn't feel like doing the heart thing so we did this together and endulged together.  A perfect day!

This was my first Valentine Day without my husband of 54 years. My brother in law, his wife, a cousin and wife invited me out for supper with them so I would not be alone. Had a very nice time. I made each of the girls a valentine pot holder as a gift. An idea I had just seen on the internet that was so easy and so much fun to make. The Moda Cabbage and Roses fabric is so pretty and takes me back to my childhood when my mother had a large cabbage rose pattern slip cover on our couch. Enjoy your blog and reading others comments. I love tuna fish salad for lunch, but I don't like to make it.  My sweet husband of 39 years made me lunch for Valentines's Day.  Of course, he made me a tuna fish salad sandwich and garnished the plate with my favorite dill pickles.  

I had a busy day planned for Valentine's but had a head cold so I ended up at home all day. That seemed like a message which I interpreted to mean I should be kind to myself. So I had a nice long bath with the best smelly stuff on hand and generally pampered myself! Then I had a nice dinner, read for a while, had some hot chocolate and went to bed early.

Very good for the soul!!

We were planning on going out on a date as Valentine's Day was or 10th anniversary. Unfortunately, my arthritis was flaring and I just wasn't up to it, so hubby made steak and baked potatoes for dinner. Much nicer than being exhausted standing in line to get a table.

My husband and I enjoyed a leisurely dinner at a nearby restaurant. Our college-age son accompanied us. A perfect eventing with two handsome men!

I,m going up to the old age home ,where  my Aunt is ,she turned 100 years old on the same day as my birthday,I was born on her birthday and named after her.  Thank you for the opportunity to win the beautiful cabbage roses fabric.  My husband and I had a very romantic dinner at a local restaurant.  As soon as I saw the fabric, I knew it would be perfect for pillows I make for women undergoing mastectomy  surgery.  They are heart shaped and fit nicely under their arm.  They really protect the body especially when using a car seat belt.  If the person is having a double mastectomy then I make a pair for her.  Thank you for the opportunity.

Haha!  I love the stuffed frog as a Valentine gift!  I'm pretty fond of frogs myself.  My Valentines Day, however, required some rescheduling... my hubby and I had a lovely dinner at a favorite restaurant the evening before, as I had a stained glass class on the 14th that I just didn't want to miss!  He understood, which was a nice little Valentine message, too!  :)  Thanks for giving an opportunity to win those gorgeous Moda fabrics!

which wednesday is next wednesday - I spent valantines day at an adult ed college working on my textile art from 7 am until midnight!!

I spent the day freshening up the house, removing clutter, and making it look cozy and happy.  Then I made my DH a lovely lobster dinner.  Would love the fabric, have gotten a new sewing machine to replace my old not-functioning-very-well one, and suddenly my sewing is taking off.

My honey and I went to an early movie together and held hands and then made dinner together...a very romantic thing for us to do. Before the movie we went to the grocery store to buy last minute ingredients and he said I should pick out a plant (he thinks cut flowers die too quickly...lol) while he picked me out a mylar balloon...he is such a guy...no surprises but sooo sweet. Oh and I should add I broke a tooth on the movie theater popcorn! It was a memorable Valentines day and also our first. :)

Hubby and I did chinese takeout;  I didn't want to deal with the crowds.  LIt candles, served on the good china.  All would had been perfect if they hadn't forgotten his sauces for the different entrees....it was a little dry.

Hi,   Happy Valentine's Day, as I have no special other, I am going to be my own valentine.  I am going to have a lie in with a cup of tea and some of my craft maganizes and choose a pattern that I have been wanting to make for a long time and spend the day enjoying myself among my material and cottons.

Our Valentine's day was quite lovely- My husband brought home some beautiful stargazer lilies and we went out to dinner at a favorite restaurant. I bought him a new coffee maker and a series of books for him to enjoy. We both enjoyed a lovely card from our son. It was a wonderful day.

The fabric is very pretty indeed - someone could create a lovely quilt with it.

What pretty eye candy Cabbage &Roses is, yummy, yummy!! So soft and feminine. Well since it's after Valentine's Day, I'll tell you what I did. I actually flew home on Valentines Day. I had been staying with my DIL and one year old grandson for a few weeks. My son is in the USMC and was away at training for his deployment to Afghanistan in April. I had a blast just being grandma. I was also able to spend a few days with my son when he got back. I'm a happy grandma as my DIL and grandson will be moving closer while my son is deployed.

For Valentine's Day, my hubby always buys me a bouquet of stargazer lilies!  He has done it since we got married because my wedding bouquest was stargazer lilies.  My friends all complain that he remembers and theirs don't!  Then we always sit and have a nice family dinner with out two girls.  It is a nice family time.
