Patchwork is where I started, and where I go when I want to go back to my "roots". It can be either simple or complicated. Right now I am working on a simple quilt, made of squares, circles and rectangles. It's on my table and I work on it when I want to de-stress. I have also started working on a very complicated LARGE quilt.

My submission is on its way!

What I love about patchwork is that it is beautiful, sometimes more beautiful, in it's simplest forms. Instead of fussing with complicated fabrics, the stitching and composition of how the pieces are sewn together becomes the true focus. Some of the best quilts I have seen have been put together instinctively, and/or because it was all that was there to sew with. I love patchwork!

I love patchwork as you start out with scraps and end up with something unplanned, but full of color and interest. One cannot ever have "too much" fabric to work with and the end result is always awesome!

I love textiles and patchwork is a fabulous way to showcase them. Totally unique things can be made by combining commercial fabric anyone can buy -- it's all in how it's put together. Quilting is a passion I share with my Ragdoll kitty, Silvie (short for Silvana). As my QA manager, Silvie closely inspects everything I bring home or get from my stash to work with. I'd love to cover the cushion in her basket with kitty-designed patchwork and a little matching blanket. She loves faux fur so incorporating a bit of the fuzzy would be sure to make it her favorite. She loves colorful fabrics, too.

I'm not sure what happened to my comment, so I hope this doesn't show up twice! Patchwork is what I do between art-quilt projects. I find the repetitive sewing soothing, and it frees up my mind and allows my imagination to wander. I love the fabrics and have been seeking out solids lately for a large patchwork project!

Patchwork is what I do between art-quilt projects. It centers me and the repetitive sewing is comforting and frees up my brain and lets my imagination wander. Love the fabrics (NEED the fabrics!!!) :-)

I would love to win these fabrics. I have been doing patchwork for a long time now. There always seems to be something I have to make. Patchwork just speaks to me. It's great fun rummaging through my scraps and discovering fabrics that I had forgotten about. I can always seems to find something that's just right.

I am inspired by this stash of Kona colors, and I'd love to stitch them together as a painter would create a painting. The colors are wonderfully vibrant, alive and can express any manner of emotion. I'd like my piece to visually command attention to all who enter the room, make of art the ordinary household furnishings--table linens, hand towels, ottoman slipcover, throw, window treatments, bedding...the possibilities are endless.

I absolutely love to sew, make articles and fun stuff. I try to sew every day until I use an entire bobin of thread each day as my goal. I am currenlty working o n 4 christmas quilts and halloween figures. Love to sew and have 7 sewing machines currenlty. all work but not room to keep them all displayed. Anyway, sewing is my stress outlet and I love love love looking and drooling over new fabrics!!

There are two things that I love about patchwork quilts:

Patchwork is way to bring many different fabrics together to create something special. I enjoy seeing a stunning quilt where I think I would never have combined those fabrics for a quilt. But when I see them together, it works. It's like magic.

I love when a quilter takes traditional patchwork and brings something new to the table. It may be color choices, layout, or presenting a block in a new way, patchwork is endless journey in possibilities.

I love art quilting, but I also enjoy making plain old pieced quilts, and the scrappier the better. Sometimes I just need a little mix and match, brainless sewing... kathy
