Out of all of the reader challenges we have hosted over the years, our "Fresh Picked" 2010 Quilting Arts Calendar contest produced the most fantastic results we have seen to date. They were outstanding. It bears repeating: They were oustanding!
We received 314 entries, a record for our calendar challenge, and it was very, very difficult to winnow the lot to the finalists listed below. Even if your name is not listed below, there are many artists we would like to follow up with because the art was so compelling. Don't be surprised if we call or email you within the next month or so.
First, a Giveaway
In thanks for joining our challenge (and for everyone reading this blog) we're giving away five SideWinder Bobbin Winders by Wrights to five people!
For the "Fresh Picked" Calendar Contest, it was clear that certain fruits and vegetables were popular subjects. Below are the top five fruits and veggies depicted with fabric and thread. Take your pick; choose what you think was the most popular fruit or veggie we saw out of the entries, and out of the ones who select the correct answer, I will randomly select five people and announce their names Monday, April 13 at 5:00 EDT. Everyone can play. You do not have had to submit an entry to answer; just take your best guess what you think was the most popular fruit or vegetable for this challenge.
A Twitter Bonus
I have joined the ranks of Twitter, and will be announcing timely giveaways, opportunities, and breaking news for Quilting Arts via Twitter. (I am finding Twitter to be the fastest, easiest ways to get the news out...and share short musings of a more personal nature, too). If you currently "follow me" or join Twitter and opt to follow me, I will enter your name twice for this giveaway. (My user name is PokeyBolton.) Just make sure when you answer below in the comments area, that you point out that you Tweet, and tell me what your user name is so I can be sure to "follow you" too!
Choose one answer from the following:
Apples
Pears
Tomatoes
Oranges
Pumpkins
