Report from the International Quilt Show Floor!

4 Nov 2010

This your trusty Quilting Arts editor giving you a brief report from the International Quilt Show floor and letting you know what we’re up to!

We’re psyching ourselves up for the doors to open Preview Night…

We’re inviting Workshop attendees to leave their artistic stamp on our brand new Graffiti wall. (With very special thanks to Ilovetocreate.com for supplying all of the paints, stencils, and pens!)

We’re leaving funny messages on that wall (…and I thought I’d better Photoshop her number out)…

And while painting, we’re also getting a little messy in the process…

We’re constructing, painting, and stenciling fabric books to hold Quilt Festival photos.

And getting messy there, too.

We’re meeting people for the first time with whom we have mutual acquaintances back home, and learned before we left we’d both be at Festival.

We’re also learning that some people watch Quilting Arts in the middle of the night to help them get to “that dreamy state of mind.” (In other words, I put them to sleep!)

And we’re also taking a lot of pictures to celebrate our brand new, hot-off-the-press edition of International Quilt Festival: Quilt Scene!

Wish you were here!

Wish I was there. You look like you're having so much fun.

I'm starting to save money today so I can maybe attend next year or the year after...

I was fortunate to be in the first Make It and Take It University class of the Houston 2010 Quilt Festival. My first time there, what a highlight!
