My bucket list is short by most folks' standards as far as projects go. Since I work about 46 hours a week at a job that I love and drive 45 minutes each way, it doesn't leave enough time in the day to be creative. My top three projects are: Create a wall hanging with a flamingo theme for my god-daughter (flamingos are her sorority's mascot), a Mardi Gras wall hanging because I love NOLA with embellishments of beads and masks with cool feathers, and last but not least - a large Japanese themed wall hanging for my sister whose living room is so cool. I want to make a one dimentional paper lantern (out of silk in lieu of paper) and and I have lots of neat ideas for that one too. Too many projects, so little time.

I'm a very new sewer. I've only been sewing for a year. On my bucket list is to learn as much as I can about the sewing and quilting arts. Eventually I'd like to pass on this hobby to my two girls. They're 4 & 2.

One thing on my quilting bucket list is to make a quilt for each of my three children and eight gandchildren this year. I want to make each an original designed by me using fabric I think relates to each one's personality

My bucket list is simple - a studio for quilters, weavers, fiber artists who could all spend their day creating in a wonderful sunshiny place, laughing and enjoying the company and stimulation of being together. The core group would be my most talented sisters, the quilter who sews everything for everyone else, the weaver with the antique looms who is self-taught and has garnered a following of her incredible rugs, table runners, place mats and long casserole runners (the funeral guilds at church are crazy about these), the animal girl who has a way with animals and wants to raise sheep, rabbits and goats and then spin their hair, fur, wool into yarn and dye it glorious colors. And me, the painter who is drawn to quilting because of the glorius colors and wonderful feel of the fibers. To that we would add friends and family and strangers who feel the need to be working with fibers and learning how to do the things with us that we do with our tools, our hands and our history; we would hold classes to learn and teach even more how to play with the color and lights of the fibers, having fun and building a history that is passed on to future generations.

My bucket list is long and ranges from the exciting to the mundane. One item would be to use that heat gun I bought about 8 years ago to a fabric embellishment (de-bellishment?) I saw in Quilting Arts. So far it has only been used by my husband to strip paint.

Hiya Pokey, on my bucket list is to attend Art Fiber Fest or a similar retreat, and then to be invited back to teach. I live in Australia and decent fabric art retreats are few and far between. Blessings, Johoanna

On my Bucket list is:

To have a Dye Guild!! Instead of a quilt guild, the dye guild would meet and dye, share, teach, have show and tell and even have a Challenge Dye Project!!!

There are lots of quilt guilds and other textile art guilds, but I have never seen a Dye Guild yet!!! I want one!!!!! That's my dream!!!

I would like to start a quilting club at an Elementary school. The thought of helping to encourage young people to quilt is exciting and scary. I love quilting and see quilting in this area waning. Young people have such wonderful ideas and are capable of so much. I would love to egnite their imagination toward quilting. The possiblities are unlimited.

I may be too late, but Big Picture-wise, I'd love to do the same thing you described! But on a practical level, I'm just concentrating on saving a small chunk of money so I can get my Thermofax machine retrofitted so it works. I bought it 3 yrs ago at "such a bargain" (not!), only to discover that this model can't use the one type of light bulb available for Thermofax machines. How disappointing!!! So now I have to ship away this 50 lb. dud and pay another big chunk of $$ on it. I know . . . I'm lucky to have it, but I just wish it worked!

Oh and go on a retreat for a week or even just a weekend. Wouldn't it be cool to do one with hikes and designer food and massages too interspersed with class time of course! One of those hoipolloi type spa resorts but with quilting too!

I would love to show something in a national show, anything. Have not been brave enough or productive enough yet to do it! I also would really love to get this portrait of my grandmother that I started last spring done. She died last April just as I started on it and so have not been able to really look at it since.

I would like to try fabric painting too and using either linoleum block or wood block patterns carved by moi to make my own motifs.

Getting a quilt to each boy (now 12 and 14) is lower down on my list now that they are not interested in turtles and dinosaurs! They were when I started...
