Getting rid of? Impossible. If anything, I am saving clamshell lettuce containers, and putting quilting stuff in it. It's organized. It's clear. I can see it. If I get rid of it, I won't have it. But I am getting rid of those lettuce containers. They have a higher calling.

Getting rid of? Oh no, I am adding to! Spring time is when I add new things to my already full studio and contemplate all the new projects I have been thinking about and drawing out my ideas in a journal. Now it I could only add to my space!

However, I also give away the fabric I thought I would use sometime but never have as well as those odd spools of thread. You know, those pieces you look at and wonder how you can possibly use them and finally come to the conclusion that you never will? Our church makes good use of them, making quilts for the homeless and elderly patients.

Getting rid of machine embroidery hoops--they get in the way. An Ott light, don't know why--just doesn't give enough light. Old, meaning really old, cotton threads, etc.

When I spring clean, I don't get rid of much, but I do thoroughly enjoy the process of sorting through all of my fabrics, re-arranging, re-folding, just looking more closely at the many different colors and textures of what I already own. Inevitably, I identify at least a few "gaps" in my stockpile that I need to fill in - which calls for at least one quick trip to my local quilt shop. But, more importantly, I realize how much I already have - not just materially but spiritually as well -- and that is a wonderful, wonderful feeling.

I am brand new to this and I don't have a fabric stash as of yet! I am just in the process of turning an extra bedroom into a studio. All the clothes I have sitting in the closet in that room are going to Good Will. The room is painted, but that is it.

wow not sure how I missed this one on Wed! Congrats to the happy recipients! I've been getting organized as a new baby is on the way -- my HQ Avante (OMG am so excited). I attacked the pile of smaller-than-fat-quarter fabric and sorted according to "project-in-progress-wow-I-forgot-about-this" (large ziploc for each, all in one see-through drawer), or random-but-could-come-in-handy-for postcards (different drawer, organized in large ziplocs, one for Christmas colors, one for Valentine colors, one for primary, one for pastels, and so on). Then I went through my embellishments/trims drawer and ruthlessly threw out bits I have outgrown so that I can now see my decorative ribbons/threads for bobbin work/Angelina etc. Good luck with the move!!!

Dust . . . and more dust! I have pulled about 75% of my children's fabrics (15 yards at least) and any scrap fabrics that would work with the brights. Our Guild is sponsoring a sewing day for Linus Quilts and I can't think of a better place to use them up.

I'm clearing out DUST, Cleaning my only window, & putting very small scraps into fabric bags of different sizes for "Pet-Beds". Our animal buddies at shelters love these! Paulette Jensen
