I&amp;#39;m not quite sure the purpose of the pen on fabric so it&amp;#39;s tough for me to answer. Do you mean a marking pen (one that erases)? Or do you mean a pen for signing quilts that is permanent and wont smear when washed?  I tend to never wash quilts (since they are art quilts that hang on a wall), and use Sharpies all the time. Another option are Rub-a-Dub markers. Those are what Susan (Lucky) Shie uses quite a bit for journaling on fabric. Best of luck, Pokey
