1. Make one art quilt a month.
This is a holdover from years' past. I know it will make me feel good to not only devote the time to new small projects, but to produce 12 quilts, so I gotta do it.

2. Do at least 3 of the exercises in each of the books I've bought over the past year (and not just look at them).

This goal dovetails nicely with goal #1, since I can use the exercises and all the techniques I've been learning over the past few years in the art quilts. There are some great self-portrait exercises I'd like to try, and there are always Zoey (dog) quilts to be made!

3. Contact an art collective about the possibility of selling some of my quilts.
I've sold quilts before and have a few originals I could sell now.

I have been cleaning out my grandfather's garage over the last 3 weeks. All I can say is OMG! Walking in and having to turn sideways and walk like a crab to the door means there is too much! My grandpa had even caulked the garage door shut!! (After weeks we triumpantly unsealed the door and enjoyed a sight none of our eyes have ever seen) Pack rat-ism is a bad syndrome and when I look at all of my stash, I don't want that to be a burden to my future family. In the end, most of it is just STUFF. Cleaning is good for the soul and refreshes your living area.

First, Happy New Year! Second, this is SO COOL...my 100th blog post was Jan.1, 2009 also! We're linked, I tell you! If you get time, run over to my blog and read my post from last night...it's about goals, words for the new year...and a "firmness of Purpose". I love your magazine, the dvd's and all the cool ways that you find to promote the guest artists that you invite to share with everyone. One of my goals this year is to be published in your magazine! I just sent in my very first article for Fibre&Stitch, so you're next! Looking forward to getting to know you this year.

Here are my goals
1. Learn to Knit and/or Crochet - I have been suppressing the urge to do a crochet granny square afghan for several years now. A friend in my guild has agreed to teach me - so hopefully I will be a good student.
2. Monthly Journal Quilt - theme is still WIP - it may be circles - stay tuned...
3. Finish some UFO's - there are several - I will set a realistic goal - maybe 6 and go from there.
4. Use up more of my stash.
5. Collage Journal - I am not sure how to go about this yet but I would like to do a weekly collage in a small sketch book.
6. Start a fiber arts small group - of local people who get together once a month to play and learn from each-other.
That's probably enough on top of
working a full time job + my assistant is having a baby in Feb.
The addition of a new niece or nephew in May
My parents 50th wedding anniversary in June
And rennovating a new house...
I look forward to the inspiration from QA and CPS Magazines!
