Quilting’s origin, in the use of scraps from clothing is the “original” green concept. In quilting today, this trend also manifests itself in different ways from recycling, to green products like bamboo batting, and even quilts with a green message. First is a delicious way to recycle by using the foil wrappers from chocolates to embellish cloths. Then Leslie Rego takes us on a fun, “flower power” journey through the sixties while we learn to fuse a large and striking floral design. Next, Susan Lucky Shie has a tutorial on air brushing with an emphasis on writing. Last up is tying a quilt using bar tacking over bows and yarn with Sue Hausmann.
