808      Plethora of Patchwork

Today features the first of the segments we shot on location in Cincinnati – where so many of you stopped by to give us feedback on QA – thanks you so much for all of your comments and suggestions – we love to hear from you  at shows and on our website. Our feature today is a plethora of patchwork – contemporary colors and fabrics are giving a whole new look to patchwork. Nancy Odem is first with her unique twist on patchwork. Then, Vivika DeNegre is back for her final project this season with a table runner featuring the top stik method and innovative linear design. Finally, let’s meet Maria Elkins at Quilt Festival for silhouette portraits.

I just loved the segment on piecing with an iron. using steam a seam. I have taken two  tucks and texture classes. Using this method would definitely take the place of the complicated smocking techniques.  

I learned how to make biax folds using two pins right on the iron mat. Loved it.
