Back by popular demand: on Janulary 23, 2014, Quilting Daily is hosting an encore of our live online seminar Enhance your Quilting with Surface Design Techniques: Creating Brushes in Photoshop Elements, with talented mixed-media fiber artist Margaret Applin.
You are probably familiar with Margaret's mixed-media fiber art and surface design techniques through her articles in Quilting Arts Magazine and her Quilting Arts Workshop Digital Design for Screen Printing.
Margaret often uses Photoshop Elements to create design elements for use in surface design, and she is going to walk you step-by-step through her process in her online presentation. Plus, there will be plenty of time for questions!
In this hour-long online seminar you'll discover just how easy it is to enhance the surface design of your fabrics and quilts using Photoshop Elements 10.0. It's amazing to see how even a very simple design can help you create unique fiber art images to use again and again.
Join us to learn more about how Margaret uses Photoshop Elements in an untraditional way as she discusses her techniques and philosophy regarding designing personal imagery.
In this live broadcast, Margaret demonstrates how she creates custom brushes that she then uses to build imagery and create layouts for stencil and Thermofax screen designs.
This is your chance to see Margaret in action and ask questions about this fascinating technique--then use it to create your own unique fiber art!
By participating in this webinar, you will learn how to:
- Upload and manipulate your own painting or drawing into Photoshop Elements (versions 7.0 through 10.0)
- Create a custom brush library to save your brushes to in Photoshop Elements
- Prepare an image within Photoshop Elements to convert into a custom brush
- Create and save a custom brush
- Save and organize your images using Margaret's quick tips
- Prepare an image layout for making custom Thermofax screens or to cut your own stencils
Everyone who registers for this online seminar will receive access to a recording of the seminar so you can replay the tutorials--or even watch for the first time if you missed the live event. You'll also receive downloads of reference images from Margaret's demonstrations.
