It is tough enough to withstand being used as stars on an outside Christmas decoration. Slit open the bag. Double layer the bag. Trace a star onto the bag. Stitch around the edges. Cut out 1/4 inch from stitching. Hand-needle stitch a gold glitter thread hanger at a star point. Note--it can NOT be ironed onto wonder-under because of a plastic content. But it CAN be stitched down onto fabric. Elizabeth

Having to make a quilt for a "food challenge" for our guild awhile ago, my wallhanging has 7 pleated pockets, each with the painted and fused facsimile of favorite candy bar "wrappers" on the outside of the pocket. My husband fills the pockets with the designated treats on occasion as a surprise! As it hangs on the wall right behind my sewing machine, the pockets never remain filled for long.

I loved the ideas for adding sparkle and metals to art quilts and would add a couple of my own. 1) on the chocolate side of things - try keeping the coloured cellophane that some chocloates come wrapped in and incorporate that into fanatsy fabric or with other sheers; stitch and texturise with a heat gun or soldering iron.

2) Keep the metal cork covers of wine bottles, these can be cut into different shapes and stiched through using a thicker machine needle (90 +). They come in many different colours and some with different patterns you can chose how to add texture, sheen and colour to a small piece. don't forget to drink the wine, but mind being drunk in charge of a sewing machine - perhaps not illegal but certainly dangerous....

have a happy and prodcutive Festive season - Tracy at Pixelbrush
