Pokey Bolton

Pokey Bolton was introduced to art quilting and the related fiber arts in 1998, and ever since she took her first stitch (a fly) and embroidered her first motif (a spider), she has been entangled in this art form and doesn't envision herself free. Art quilting and mixed-media have, quite literally, taken over her life--so much so that she left her doctoral program and full-time teaching job to found Quilting Arts Magazine®, and later with her husband John, Cloth Paper Scissors® magazine. Both magazines were acquired by Interweave Press in 2007. Pokey is the author of The Quilting Arts Book: Techniques and Inspiration for Creating One-of-a-Kind QuiltsThe Best of Quilting Arts, and 1,000 Artist Trading Cards: Innovative and Inspired Mixed Media ATCs. Pokey is also the host of "Quilting Arts TV" on PBS, and when she isn't at the office or a taping, she can be found in her studio at home--her absolute favorite place to be!

Helen Gregory

Helen Gregory is the Vice President, Content, for Interweave, which includes Quilting Arts Magazine, Cloth Paper Scissors, Stitch, and Studios magazines. Having worked for years in the quilting industry, both as an editor and in marketing/ product development, Helen was a fan of Quilting Arts since the early days, and she was thrilled to join the QA/CPS team in 2007. A friend introduced Helen to quilting shortly after they graduated from college, and she was perfectly content with handwork until her parents gave her a student model sewing machine. When she received the machine, she couldn’t imagine that she’d ever use it. Now she can’t imagine life without it. When not working or creating, Helen loves spending time outdoors – hiking, biking, kayaking, x-c skiing, and relaxing at the beach.

Vivika Hansen DeNegre

Vivika Hansen DeNegre is a life-long admirer of all things stitched.  Like many art quilters, she learned to sew, knit, and embroider at an early age.  Her love affair with quilting started when she made her first nine-patch block, and has continued since that day.  After covering every bed in the house, she moved on to making art quilts, and has never looked back.  She has been an active member of several quilting groups, and credits her fellow artists with giving her inspiration and lots of pointers along her artistic journey. When not creating in her studio or working at Quilting Arts, she can be found hiking the trails of New England with her husband and four children.  Inspiration for that next project or article might be just around the corner…
