More monoprinting pieces by Liz Berg

Art quilter Liz Berg creates her own fabric by monoprinting with acrylic paints. Shown here are three of Liz’s quilts, made from a variety of her monoprinted fabrics. To see more and learn her technique, turn to page 74 in the February/March 2009 issue.

“Autumn Sky” • 8" x 9 3/4"
“Remember those beautiful autumn skies? Bright blue skies with big clouds drifting by with fields already
cut for harvest. Monoprinted fabrics have been used to create this sense of tranquility.”

“Moon with Grass” • 8" x 9 3/4"
“A monoprinted fabric for the background offers texture with hints of green grass in the printing. Commercial
fabrics have been used for the moon and other circles; small pieces of batik fabric emphasize the grass structure.”

“Stepping Stones” • 8" x 9 3/4"
“Commercial fabrics have been added with monoprinted fabrics for a background and red stepping stones.
The stones dance around the large rubber-stamped image, which reminds one of a shell or other such natural
object we have stopped to examine.”
