Like Diana's prompt in CPS Homework, I love patterns and find myself photographing them all the time, but I've never figured out exactly what to do with them. I love her idea of drawing/interpreting the patterns in a journal, but then what does she do with them??

I looked to see if Diana Trout was a QA member, but couldn't find her.

I did some patterns work in my journal and then made stamps with them. I can now use the stamps for backgrounds or embellishments etc. Take a look at my blog (you may have to scroll down a bit).

Jane, I loved this idea too, and took to it right away. I built a journal to hold my clippings and sketches and I will use them either for fabric sketching (in thread or by hand) and for carving stamp patterns.

Hi Jane, I didn't know there was a forum here! My pattern hunts do influence my work. I use the sketches as a resource when I am painting.  See some examples here: http://dianatrout.com/Wallart.htm.
