Like many of you I belong to many quilt guilds.  It seems that our main fund raisers are quilt shows and raffle quilts.  We do hundreds of community quilts (chemo and children in peril ) and  hundreds of quilts of honor ( quilts for wounded soldiers while they are in the hospitals) a year,  These require lots of time and lots of money which makes fund raising even more difficult.   If you are in a guild with a new idea in fund raisers please let me know.  Something new will bring excitement back to the worker bees.  .

Thank you for your time and consideration

Hi Whidbey-

One thing our guild does for fund raising is a small quilt auction.  Members donate quilts, and then the guild hires an auctioneer to actually auction them off.  Guild members are encouraged to bring family, friends, etc to buy the quilts.  We have ours in October right around holiday gift buying time.

Another popular one is raffle baskets.  Ask members to donate quilt related items and have someone make up a nice basket once a month and sell tickets for the basket for $1 or $2 each.
