I'm looking to make a sewing machine cover. Every pattern I've found so far is the conventional cover that slides over the machine. Living in the Caribbean's I need to make a cover that will also cover the bottom of the machine.

Has anyone living on the coast or in the humid south ever made such a cover? It would have to have a flap on the side I guess that would open easily in order to "slide" the machine inside it. Conventional covers have no "bottom" and the humidity over here will get into the machine through the bottom.

This might be a brain challenger, been thinking of making the conventional cover and sew an extra flap to it but I'm stuck at that stage: how to sew that extra flap on and what do I use to close it? A zipper will probably allow moisture, velcro too. Any bright idea anyone?

Thank you all
