Hi, we've been sorting out my grandfather's photo library. He always edited what he showed us, but he never threw any out. Anyone know of an art use for the films from not-great shots? Some of the rejects are decent pictures, since we're only going to preserve the very best ones.
You can use the originals in pieces of art themselves or you can make copies and copy them onto fabric. There have been quite a few articles and DVDs out lately from Interweave about how to transfer photos to fabric. They don't have to look great. You can also photoshop them for a great effect. The slides themselves can be altered to be pieces of jewelry. I use 35mm negatives in collage. There are several books out on how to alter photos and use them in mixed media art.
