I was reading Patty Young's tips and came up with a good idea (it may not be original, I'm not sure). She said to design, write notes etc. right on your work surface. Right away I thought of the table-top rolls of drawing paper sold for children's artwork. They are mounted on wooden rollers, so you could attach the free end with double-sided removeable tape.I also have 2 bolts of white silk waiting for inspiration. I believe they could be used in a similar manner. Laid on a table-top and weighted down with ceramic weights, (or fixed to the work surface with removable tape), they would become a beautiful random fabric to use as-is or provide a background for more surface embellishment.
