Pear Quilt

I enjoyed watching the quilt with the Pear design created by Ana Buzzalino.

Do you need a special machine to do the stiffling ?

I need someone who could help me with similar quilt design for my daughter's bedroom.

It is a picture of a little girl in a flower garden. If someone can start it for me, then I could

continue painting or hand embroidering it as needed.

Oh how I wish this book had come out earlier in the year! Now I have to hustle around gathering what's left of the gardens and get it all drying. I sat down the minute I got it out of the box and started reading. Wonderful ideas, great illustrations, really well written. I need to clear a space of time (after I do some harvesting) and give it a serious read, make notes, draft projects. This will keep me busy this winter.

Anybody else have download problems?

I bought and downloaded the new metal embellishments video this morning. I get only sound, no picture. I've already tried a new download, restart, and I know my quicktime is up to date, but still no picture.

Has anybody else had this problem with their download before? I've contacted customer service, but I don't know if they'll get back to me.

I want to order the QA TV DVD but it says with the first three that it is only for USA and Canada. Are the others suitable to use in Europe?

Soy wax and fabric paper journals

My base pages for my 3 journals were made from soy wax fabric (Melly Testa's book) and fabric paper (Kelli Perkins' book). Thought some people might be interested in seeing what I learned in a semi-finished product. The soy wax fabric looks to good by itself that I might not do anything else with it.

I have been making a new lil thing, dolls really, and am in need of some supplies that are not as easy as I would have thought to obtain. Match sticks (wooden) with different colored heads-red is the norm, but I seek turquoise, blue, teal, brown. Any different sort of colors really. If you have any, can we think up a trade? :)

Hi! I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good book on visual journaling. I have never journaled and I think it is time. I also had problems with the warm up. I can doodle fine when I don't think about it, but it is mostly spirals and squares. I think I was trying to make "pretty pages" and just gave up. Thanks for your help and I love what you all have done in the gallery. (I don't have a blog and this is all pretty new to me - i.e., I just figured out how to ask a question here - LOL!) I am hoping to entice some of you in joining me in in playing with dyes and making cloth through a series of Video Prompt Challenges- I encourage you to get my book and join in on the fun. Through video format, I will show you how to engage in a topic, then set you free to explore the ideas and post images of your work right here on the QA community web site.

Using dyes are not as challenging as you might think, If you choose to work with paint, no one will mindr! This is about learning and having fun doing it.

Hello and intro

So hello everyone! Welcome. I am really excited to have this community and look forward to meeting and friending folks. Today, my book is being released and I feel like it is a birthday or something!! The book really didn't take long to do, if you consider 12 hour days for about 7 months straight a short time. (I can be quite single minded and focused about art.) Pokey has called me her OCD friend, and I think she may be right in that assessment. But oh my! And to see the advertisements on the site with my cover in them? I need to pinch myself.

I have some fun stuff planned! I am putting together a series of Video Prompt Challenges. Short videos to illustrate methods to get into the art making mode and to help illuminate the process. The above link goes to me Author Blog here on the site, where you can read all about it!

So I hope you have fun settling into the new site, geez. We can share images of our work, have focused discussions in the forums and meet other like minded people too. There is a link to twitter and facebook too. All central and in full color. I think all of this is just GREAT.
