I built a website that I am really proud of and nobody but my close friends have seen it. How do I get people to take note of me. I have a passion for books, quilting and teaching. I don't blog or "facebook" because I still teach full-time. I have a few years left before retirement and then I can hit the local quilt shows. What can I do to get noticed. Please don't say "facebook" The more time I spend on computer: less time I have for quilting.

My Quilt doesn't hang straight, HELP!!

I have entered my quilt in a show, but when it is hanging, it doesn't hand straight and smooth. It's crooked and lumpy looking, like it's got big puckers. Hard to describe. I just want it flat and smooth!!

How do I make it hang flat and smooth??? I have until July 20th. What should I do???

What do you think about ACTA, SOPA, PIPA etc?

I've heard a lot of discussions about these new anti-online-piracy organizations as ACTA, SOPA, and PIPA. I'm just wondering, why does everyone think its so bad? I mean; its just to prevent people from doing something illegal and from being thieves. I also see a lot of exaggeration when it comes to the punishment. Rumors, saying that you can get 50 years of prison for sharing files, that is not true! Also, as far a i know, its only the person sharing the files who will get punished, not the streamer/downloader, even though that's illegal too and you could get punished for that as well. Why does everyone think that its OK to steal on the internet, when they would never even think about stealing from a store? In theory is the same action being done. Do you think its OK to steal from the internet? Dont you feel sorry for the people who are loosing a lot of money from your stealing? (No, not just a little bit, A LOT!)

Hi, I've had a blog for a while now but I haven't managed to attract very many folowers. I have been pretty good about posting fairly regularly and including lots of pics but still have only 11 people following me. After watching other people's blogs I've decided this month to do a giveaway of one of my journals in the hopes to increase the numbers.

Does anyone else have ideas that might help? Things that you have done or seen on blogs you follow? I would really appreciate any tips you all might have. :)

Need Help Configuring Blogger for Tabs at the Top

Hi,

I've had a Blogger teaching blog for a couple years now;

and I'd like to add tabs at the top as I've seen other quilt artists do. (Such as "Gallery" or "Resume".

I don't know where to start to find instructions or tutorials about adding pages, etc.

Does anyone have a link for me, or a place to read what to do step-by-step?

How are people making use of the Internet to promote their business? How much time do you spend on the internet as a business and where do you go? Facebook, Blogs (your own and/or others), Twitter etc.

In particular I have a blog that I am using currently as a personal craft blog (http://sorchaogle.wordpress.com), and am wondering whether to try and take it to “the next step” – and if so, how. What should I be posting about? How often should I be posting? To include photos or not? Of what?

So far this spring I have:

Ordered new business cards
Updated my workshops flyer
Gathered in one place all of the info I need to update my website
Updated my email mailing list
Made a list of venues to submit teaching info to
Researched new products to release including packaging options
Organized my work space and my files

Hand dye fabrics online

I started my business in 1997 so that I could have a creative outlet and then shortly after sell the growing mass of hand dyed, batik, bleach discharged etc fabric that I was amassing. I have done a couple of small shows and in January sold several of my pieces as a result of that display. Currently, I have a small display of unfinished objects at my local library. Does anyone know what the app for organizing quilt entries is. Jane Davila referred to one in the newest article in Quilting Arts magazine.
