I preordered a copy of Quilting arts for my iPad. I have the PayPal recept etc. If I go to download it your system insists I pay for it and I can't find a way for the system to know I have already paid for it. I presumed it would appear in my newsstand when it was available. I have sent a message via your contact page on the interweave website weeks ago but have not heard anything. I jus wan to see a copy of the magazine please it's quilting arts.

I am so spoiled. I also subscribe to Studios and CPS. Studios arrives in a package that will NOT get bent when the USPS tosses it around. How I wish Quilting Arts came in better condition. This last one had 8 creases on the exterior where the pages are bound. I am not a bookmaker and do not know the proper name. The outer corners of the cover showed wear. One would think it had been in a reading room, perhaps like B&N. I can't tell for certain, but some time back I thought I noticed the pages and cover were of a lesser quality compared to when I first subscribed. That would be a way to save on production costs. But doing so would also lend itself to more damage in mailing. QA WAS a high-end magazine.I think the last one got mistreated by the USPS also, but perhaps it was CPS. I just want to be the first person to beat up my magazines. Why are some of the mags from Interweave packed in cardboard, others in a plastic sleeve and some, (QA), mailed bare?

Please can someone help?

I have not received my April May 2013 issue of quilting Arts Magazine.

As I move about quite a bit I thought I would check my account to see if the delivery address was correct.

Unfortunately, I am completely unable to access my account. I have tried using my account number, my e mail address and my name and address. However, my account number does open an account for another of your customers. I can see her full details - name, address, subscriptions - and if I were so inclined (which I am not) would be able to edit and change any of her details. Not only that - her details include MY e mail address as hers. Clearly something has gone very wrong and our accounts have been mixed up. I am not only very upset with QA subscriptions because of my own problems - but am even more upset that you are so careless with our details. I am sure the person whose account I can currently access would be furious if she knew.

I have taken screen shots of her account details and forwarded them to Customer Service - explaining the whole problem in detail. Unfortunately I have had no reply except for the automated response telling me someone will be in touch with me directly.

I await a response from someone at QA - and would love to hear from anyone who may have any ideas as to how to get a response from Customer Service.

Ghecko in 2011 Quilting Arts Calandar

I would really like to try to do something similar, and would welcome any advice/suggestions.

Subscription problems-who to contact?

Hi there-sorry to bug you all with my problems but really dont know where to go from here..I subscribed to Quilting Arts in january, knowing that my first issue would be the February/March issue. Well february has gone and still no sign of the magazine arriving. I have emailed customer service twice, each time receiving an automated reply, but no human response.

Can someone tell me please..who do I contact to find out what has gone wrong with my order and who canesolve the issue for me.

I would be most greatful if any of you could help. Thanks!!

Dirty Word Quilt at Quilt Com

Several of us found the four letter "FU" quilt very offensive and inappropriate for this venue. And I am a twice over cancer survivor! Guess the jury was checking for "perfect points and stitches" and not the visual message. Hope no children or young quilters were there!

Mary Jane slippers

I saw a blog and the author of the blog had mentioned being in In Stitches or doing an interview. She had a picture up of some slippers she had made in the Mary Jane Style. They were multicolored in a ray pattern. Would anyone have any idea whose site I was looking at? I really want to see these slippers again and would love to have the pattern. Was this pattern in In Stitches? Thanks in advance!

Just thought I'd point something out. I'm a digital subscriber to QA - but as yet Zinio or whoever is now responsible has not sent out notice to say the new magazine is available. Don't know if this is a general thing, just me missed out, or if the new regime isn't doing that.

It actually didn't matter this time, because I happened to be on my Zinio account, well over a week ago and discovered the new issue was up and ready. So if you're waiting for email notification, no need its already online.

digital mags for i-pad only??

I went to grab the latest version of In Stitches to find its only available for i-Pad, grrrr! Buying an i-Pad to read a few magazines is not in my future any time soon, and probably never will be, as there are better options out there for portable e-reading without having to worry about being mugged for a fashion item. What about those of us on Macs, and PCs, or who have Android tablets?

The i-Pad is a passing fad and not an option for many Quilting Daily members; this is a policy that will cost money in the end as people look for alternative magazines from other publishers that can be read on the many different tablet PCs now on the market as well as regular computers.

This is the second magazine I have wanted to download in a month, and haven't because there is no PC version. This is not how to build up a loyal following or even catch the impulse buyer, and you are not going to reach a vast new market. i-Pad devotees are generally more interested in who said what on FB than how to make lace with a sewing machine. They live in the here and now and want instant results, so aiming art and craft magazines is a bit of a waste of time because they do require the practitioner to learn a few basic skills.

The i-Pad 3 has already been superseded by the latest Android tablets. Which are half its price. and don't limit you to having to buy things from the app store. This would seem to be rather a short-sighted policy that will not increase goodwill, but will certainly antagonise many of your customers. If you transfer all your e-mags to i-Pad format only, you will be alienating a large part of your current market.

Unless Apple is paying you to do this?

I was very inspired by Diane Savona's style of quilting. I have many keys and other metal objects that I have been collecting and wondering what to do with. Analogy is offensive

I am writing in response to Vivika DeNegre's editor's note in which she compares her collection of embellishments to child victims of the Holocaust. Her comment that she might have a Sophie's Choice decision to make should her studio catch fire was, at the very least, insensitive. In the fictional Sophie's Choice, the main character must choose which of her two children to surrender to the *** in a concentration camp. The story is one of unimaginable cruelty and unbearable pain. For DeNegre to casually suggest that rescuing her bead collection warrants comparison to the inhuman offenses inflicted upon families during the Holocaust is disturbing. I sincerely hope that, in the future, DeNegre will be prudent with her references to such atrocities.

Digital Mag - Change of provider

I've received an email into my spam folder to say digital subscriptions are now being dealt with by ' Zinio' and asking me to sign up. My present account details are no longer valid. However, I can't see anywhere on the QA pages where this change is referenced. Not in my account details, not on a subscription page, no topic/blog post. Surely if this is a legitimate change there ought to be some kind of reference to it, or I should have been sent an email to say as much from a QA email address. I don't simply click on links in emails because they tell me to - I always doubled check legitimacy. Phishing emails to look legitimate are so convincing.

Anyone able to confirm that this is indeed a new provider and a legitimate email? Thank you.

Ice Parfait Dyeing

So many emails

I really love QA and CPS! But I don't love the daily barrage of emails from those sources. I would like it better if I could get them, say, twice a week. The subjects are redundant if you get the magazines. The eye candy is so great and the articles are exciting, but I find myself feeling irritation daily because of all the messages selling me again and again on the publications and products.

I have decided to downsize and started buying my favorite magazine on DVD. My question to everyone: How do you come to terms with getting rid of the hard copy of the magazine? I bundled years 2008-2010 and donated them to a local charity and it was painful!!!! Has anyone had a difficult time transitioning from magazine to DVD, etc.

gift magazine~ quilted birds

I loved the little quilted birds so much I made a wreath with them by taking a wicker wreath covering it with green netting and then a glittery mesh fabric attached with wire. then I added three birds and I like it so much i am going to use it all year and add and remove other monthly embellishments like; heart yoyos for February..

Calendar Contests Gone?

Are the Quilting Arts and Cloth Paper Scissors calendar contests gone? I can't find mention of either one in the print magazines or on the websites.

I realize that the contests are a HUGE investment of time and energy for the staff, and with Pokey going to work for Quilts, Inc., and Helen transitioning into her role, it might be easier for the staff to just select 13 great projects for the calendar from the printed magazine.

Or are the calendars not going to be published anymore?

missed delivery of magazine

Hi there, does anybody else have the problem of not receiving the subscribed Quilting Arts magazine? I have been a subscriber for a long time and get very frustrated when I don't get the magazine and I have to chase it. A replacement one is then sent but this takes months before it arrives. Am I the only one with this problem?

Missed Reader Challenge???

Did I miss the fabric exchange? Back in August I sent a link to my friend about a fabric exchange in the Readers Challenge. I thought the deadline was in December so I put it on the back burner of my brain and forgot about it until today. Now I'm sad that I don't see this challenge on the Reader Challenge page. Did I miss it??? I will be so sad if I did!

Digital Subscription - Access to magazines

I cannot access the latest magazine and am now also having difficulty accessing my account. After looking around I see that digital subscriptions are now being dealt with via Zinio. I have received no information about these changes or instruction on how to access the magazines. Please can information be published either on the site or via email when changes of this nature take place. It is very disappointing when you can't access the current magazine when available to others.

I know that in one of the more recent issues there was an article about making little pillows of rounds of felted wool. They are quite small and I believe they were closed with a buttonhole stitch, or maybe not!

I don't know for sure if this was QA or CPS. We have moved three times this year, and although I know where my magazines are, I'm not sure where to look for this article. ]

Can anyone help?

I've been a subscriber to QA for more than 7 years, have filled in gaps with whatever back issues I can find, have given gift subscriptions to friends, and have treasured each and every issue in my possession. Despite the fact that I reread articles almost every night before turning out the light, 47 of the 48 issues I have could pass for brand new.

The sole exception is issue 53, the latest one. This was the first copy in many, many years to arrive naked...unprotected by plastic wrapping. The striking cover was torn, the corner defaced by a half-attached mailing label, and my joy at having a new issue of QA to dive into was tempered by the fear that this will probably be the norm from now on.

Has Quilting Arts abandoned the plastic wrapping of their magazines to let them face indiscriminate violence at the hands of postal processing machinery, thereby leaving loyal customers with permanently scarred reminders of the beauty that used to be? Please tell me it isn't so...that there has been an outcry from the masses, that you see the folly of this change, that the next issue will arrive safely and unscathed, and that all will be right with the world once again. Please?
