does anyone have experience with washing a quilt made using the printer fabric sheets?
if so, what brand of printer fabric did you use.
when did you make it
how many times have you washed it - and how was it washed; and how did it come out
what kind of printer did you use and what kind of ink
i am finishing a quilt for my brother to use at the fire station. and it has a lot of printed photos on it. i want to send him care instructions when i ship the quilt. but i have not actually washed a quilt with photos on it yet. so it would just be info on how i think it should be done - but without any actual experience.
so if anybody has real experience - that info would help me a lot. thank you ckquilter
I think you could make a small quilted piece using the same printing technique that you used in your quilt. Just quilt it enough and secure the edges to make it handle the same as your quilt. Then wash it in the washing machine several times, making note of what happens. If it looks like it is not going to hold up well, make another one and send it to the dry cleaners.
When you wash it in the machine, I would suggest cold water and mild soap.
