Do you have a technique you can't live with out? Or a material that always adds that final touch to your art quilts?
At the moment, I am mixing wet and needle felting with piecing, applique and of course quilting. Many times the needle felting is part of an embellishment, with embroidery and beads as elements on top of that, with the wet felting (larger pieces which I have knit) as the base on which I add stitching (sometimes as part of a quilted layer). I've also been incorporating polymer clay into what I am doing -- thinking of it like large flat "beads" -- sewn on. Usually these polymer clay pieces are abstract, rather than a recognizable object. And netting of some kind often goes over some areas, again used more as an embellishment which offers some transparency rather than a true layer as part of the quilting.
