Hi everyone - newbie here - greetings from New Zealand!

Does anyone know what these beautiful quilted squares are used for as they are only 14" square?  Are they joined together as a quilt, made into cushion covers or simply framed?

Love the site - an amazing resource.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Welcome to the site, dords!

Most of the quilts that are small are meant to be that size, either as a wall hanging or other piece of art.  Almost every quilt I make is a small piece, sometimes under 8 inches square.  I always get asked if I intend to join them together, and no, they are meant to be that size and stay separate.

You could make them into a pillow, frame them, or join them if you like, that's all up to you.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Hi, Dords!

Small quilts are an excellent way to try new techniques and products that one might not want to use in a large quilt. If you haven't tried things like Tyvek, free motion quilting, thread painting - anything really - small quilts are great to practice on. Have fun with them!
