Hi everyone!
I'm new here, but hope to visit often. My name is Jennifer Rodriguez and I blog over at Allthingsbelle.blogspot.com . This past year I've decided to find my inner voice and focus solely on textile surface art.
This is Mr. Sunshine. My goal was to create a series of different toned sugar skulls for Dia de los Muertos, but I became pregnant with our third child at the beginning.. and well between my two little girls and being exhausted..this piece took forever!
It is really heavily hand embroidered on the facial features and lots of free motion quilting in the other large areas.
I found my voice is a bit dark and macabre.. maybe it's all the Disney princesses I'm surrounded by..lol
