  • Re: Forum Challenge - It's My Nature

  • Insurance for quilts

Hello everyone, My question has to do with insuring quilts when they are exhibited. Lots of shows want us to have our quilts insured. I had a quilt in a college/university art school show and sent it without insurance. Shipping companies cover the quilts while being transported to and from. What are...

Muppin It takes an eternity for new tools to drift South, I couldn't find the rose maker anywhere in Mobile! So I made ribbon roses. The quilt turned out pretty good. I was working in a tight timeline. The leaves are velevt and taffita, the vines are made from wool yarn. Everything is fused, raw...

  • Re: Opinions on online courses

I have taken 5 classes at QuiltUniversity.com. It's terrific! They post new lessons every friday so you can begin working on your new homework that weekend. Most classes run from 3 to 6 weeks. They have a forum where you can post questions and interact with other students which is very helpful. Most...

  • hanging sleeve

Hello art quilters -- I am new to this and want to know how large the hanging sleeve needs to be for a small art quilt. Should it be big enough for a 1" dowel or will a smaller sleeve be sufficient?

  • Re: Do you feel confident in your quilts artistic merits?

Everone has self-doubts, that normal. My self-doubts only occasionly deal with the art in my quilts. Now that doesn't mean they are perfect, far from it. But nothing is perfect. My art quilts help me to stay sane, I have a need to create things. Some times it is cooking, sometimes it is an art quilt...
