  • Hello - From All Over

Military spouse here so we move and move and yes, move again! I'm so pleased to have found this forum. I'm a teeny tiny business owner with an Etsy shop (http://doubleneedledesigns.etsy.com) so all this wonderful information folk share make me feel right at home and I'm pleased to be a part...

  • CATS

I too had trouble keeping my cat from sleeping on my fabric every time i'm not working on it. What works for me is to lay a piece of aluminum foil on the fabric when i leave. My cat hates it - no more cat hair in my weaving!!

  • Re: new scanner/printer

Hi, I have two Kodak all in one printers. The ink carts are 10 for black and I think 14 for color you can get a twin pack for 22 for both. They print on fabric like nothing I have ever seen. I did photos of the family for a reuion on a quilt and they looked better than the orginal I had scanned. I saw...

  • Lancaster AQS

Don't know where to post this. I'm excited because my quilt "Autumn's Glory Days" has been accepted into the Lancaster PA quilt show in March. It's the only the second quilt show I've entered the first being last September at our local guild show. So, I'm quite amazed...

  • Re: Opinions on online courses

They have a forum where you can post questions and interact with other students which is very helpful. Most...

  • Re: Magic Markers and Quilts??

I have been doing a lot of fabric painting lately. I use fabric paints and have been very pleased with the results. You can probably find examples and demonstrations on YouTube. I have used a book called "Off the Shelf Fabric Painting". It has many different ways to use the paint with photos...

  • Re: What type of batting, stabilizers?

Thanks Arlijohn, I'd heard that name mentioned a few years back but did not know what it was exactly used for. That's where I'll go check. You quilting today?

  • Re: Do you remember your first?

The first fabric quilted piece I made was a sampler in a class using one of Alex Anderson's books. My teacher taught us how to choose colors of fabrics (basically using a color wheel which I had never done) and how important it is to use different values (which was also new to me). I didn't stick...

  • Re: Arizona shopping

Don't know if you've already been, but in Flagstaff we have Odegaard's Fabrics on 4th Street. And I know of a great quilt store in Sedona, but can't remember the exact location. It is in front of a quilter's museum, and probably anyone you might ask in Sedona could tell you how to...
