Hi Everyone, My question is about what's the best way to paint a resist design on fabric. I've used the Elmer's blue glue, and it drives me crazy - the dye I used to paint over it washes out quicker than the glue!!! I used Dye-na-flow, and I now have a very faded piece of fabric with hard...

  • Re: Fabric paint comparison

Sorry for the late reply but I haven't had much time lately to monitor the forums. I've used Jacquard paints because they are found in the stores in my area. • Re: Challenge: Found Object Stamping/Printing (Jan/Feb 2010)

Ok....Here is my entry!! I tried several things, but I really wanted to do shoe prints! So I took my youngest daughters first pair of tennis shoes (Istill haven't gotten around to bronzing them! and she's almost 6). I applied black paint to the bottoms and "walked" across the fabric...

  • painting on fabric

I have a question. I am fairly new at art quilting and totally unexperienced with paint. What is the best way to use a shell as a "stamp"? I live close to the Gulf and have a collection of sea shells and drift wood native to the area, (and others bought). What I want to do is an all over surface...

  • Fabric Suggestions for a whole cloth painted art quilt

I am planning my first whole cloth painted art quilt and wondered which fabric I should use to paint on. How do I prep the fabric? I've never done this and hoped to get a few hints prior to starting on this. I really have no ideas on how to get started past planning my drawing on paper. The painting...
