"If Only I Had Known (or Cared)" by Mary T. Buchanan

“If Only I Had Known (or Cared)” • 10″ x 10” Cotton and silk organza, inkjet transfers with machine stitching, mounted on artist’s board • “This piece is a comment on all of the things we may do that contribute to health problems later in life.”

In the Spotlight on page 86 of the October/November 2010 issue of Quilting Arts, Mary T. Buchanan described how her work with elderly Alzheimer’s patients has influenced her fiber art. The artist would also like to point out that, though she works with elderly individuals, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Vascular Dementia, and other similar diseases are not exclusively age related and support is available for family and care providers at The Alzheimer’s Association (1-800-272-3900).
