I made this for a class I took from Carol Ann Waugh on her stupendous stitching. It is 10" x 16", the background is cotton quilting material and it is covered with different threads using my decorative stitches from my sewing machine. I also added hand stitching with pearl thread and couched on different yarns and ribbons. If you look in the left hand upper corner you will see a dragon fly that was appliqued on. I binded it with black cording and used black material for the backing.

This is a 12" X 19" art quilt I made when I was taking a class by Wendy Burns. I used a blue and white variegated rayon thread to quilt the background. I used a washaway interfacing that I placed different kinds of scraps of material, yarn. metallic threads for the bottom ground. the frog is a piece of green material that I thread sewed the eyes and used thread to design the body. I used my decorative feet on my Babylock sewing machine to make the different flowers and leaves along with scraps of material. I used a floral yarn at the right hand top. The binding is Amish style with a fat quarter I had. I quilted and designed this myself.

This is 19" x 17" cotton based fiber art design. When I saw the material it reminded me of a future city so I cut pieces of one fat quarter and appliqued it onto the cotton background. Than I glued silver prima brand flowers, couched a black and silver beaded cord, sewed metallic thread around the circle pieces, ironed adhesive green ribbon at the top center, glued green mosaic stained glass pieces at the right side and finished it off with swarovski crystals to give it some shimmer. The binding is a purple home decorating cord stitched on with a zigzag stitch, I used monofiiment thread. The background stitch was done in a light purple rayon thread. This was made and designed by me.

This was originally created for the "StitchThis" contest to win a Bernia Sewing Machine. I came in third. Even though I didn't win the machine, I appreciated this quilt as it reminded me of how grateful I am every moment to be a mother. While making this, my son was recovering from a shattered hip after falling while rock climbing 850 ft. up in Yosemite. It took over 6 hours of dangling on the cliff for rescue. Needless to say, I am thankful to the rescue climbers and I AM COUNTING MY BLESSINGS! ! ! ! !
