I sparyed Glimmer Mist all over them, OMG I am in love with how the
colours turns out... amazing!

Printed out my designs on canvas, glimmer misted, stamped, stitched,
then bound everything together with sitches.

I quilted it onto black cotton muslin in vertical strips, then to add more texture and color variation I layered the ribbons, alternating smaller and wider widths. The block letters below which, of course, read "JOURNAL" are created using stamped canvas which is overdyed with diluted liquid acrylic paints, fabric art markers, and free-motion stitching. I created a looped fringe with the ribbon for the bound edge of the journal for more tactile interaction with the journal, and finished off the "Ribbon Quilt" with a sprinkling of hand-sewn beads.

Mixed media art quilt wall hanging

fabric paper, machine stitching, hand stitching, wire, beads, glue, fabric, lace and other trims

My Timms

I took liberty with a Ricky Timms convergence pattern and added silk flowers I bought at wal-mart. I took all the stems and leaves off of the flowers and sewed the flowers on with some beading. I added some of the leaves back on to create my own spring garden that I have hanging on my computer hutch in my bedroom. It lifts my spirits everytime I look at it. I thought it needed something in the open corner so I got a butterfly with a clip to add even more color and demention! I hope this little quilt brings you all some spring joy as well!
