What is the challenge? I'm still quite new, enlighten me please.

I have to agree this challenge was not well described in the magazine or here.

Could anyone tell us more about how these women got such diverse quilts from a photo of nail polish?  I don't understand either!  I understand the 'Whisper' parlor game, but how was it accomplished in this challenge? 

I belong to an fiber art group and we are excited to try this challenge.  We have 12 members and it will be interesting to see what comes out at the end. 

This is fascinating. It is interesting to see the way people picked up on different design elements in the preceeding piece and then altered them to create a new view. The continuity of the colour palettes throughout each chain ties the pieces together. I was discussingthis with a friend and we are thinking of trying this on a smaller scale then combining the pieces into a long narrow wall hanging to show the development. Thanks!

I love this idea!  A friend and I came up with a way to do a similar challenge entirely over the internet so we could do it with fellow members of a small message board.  We will forward only an electronic image of our work to the next person in line and will reveal the whole group on the board for all to see at the end.  There are seven of us so far and only three have ever done anything other than strictly traditional quilting.  We felt it was an excellent way to get members to try something new without the anxiety of having it intimately examined up close and personal.  We're calling it the "Outside the Blocks Challenge".   I can't wait to see what happens!  Thanks so much for the article and, as always, for the inspiration!
