This is an experiment. The background is a piece of felt which I made some months ago. I have used bondaweb to stick the fragments of fabric together to build up the bark. The tree trunk has then been stitched to the background using free machine embroidery.

The next stage will be adding leaves to the trunk and around the top of the truncated branches to make a canopy.

I am not sure how this will all work out, so be patient with me.

I like the tree, but I'm intrigued by the background.  Does it also use bondaweb?  Great use of color and texture.

The background is a piece of felt that I made some time ago. I like wet felting and had had some fun making a collection of these "backgrounds" using scraps of wool I had left over. I'm still learning when it comes to making felt, but it is great fun to do.
