This was an exercise as part of the journal group that I meet with. Our theme for the journal was "Transparency". I had just done a class at our national Quilt Symposium and had learnt to make dimensional leaves. I used organza and solvy as a stabilizer to do the machine embroidery, then dissolved the solvy in water which in turn meant that the leaves could be moulded into a 3 D shape. It was alot of fun and I can see many ways that I can use this in the future.

What an awesome idea! These leaves turned out wonderfully. I can see where this idea could have endless possibilities. Thanks for sharing the idea with us here. Nancy

what chemicals did you use, by making the leaves transparent?
