Select digitaly altered handmade ATC  print onto 8"x10" silk sheet, layered with organzas and tulles then free motioned stitched.   Flower centers are made with peltex and panne then needlelaced with cotton pearl.  Silver metallic cord is needlelaced onto the bacground, leaves, stems and vines are cotton pearl zigged zagged stitched down.  Silk ribbon embroidered flower petals and silver 3mm metal beads and swarovski crystals montees finish this piece.

I am doing a little bit of research on this technique, this stitch can also be called netting and needleweaving

What a magnificent piece of art.  That needlelace is wonderful.  I would be very interested in more details about this technique....how is it done?  I am assuming that you do some kind of foundation on the background, then do the lacing, making it free standing from the background.  Am I anywhere near to the basic concept?

 

I NEED more information, she says, stamping her foot!!!  :)

Not only is it beautiful, it is also intriguing. So much to look at. So many interesting layers. Great job! I'm working on a floral piece now and am sure I will be influenced by this piece.

Oh My Gosh!!!!! Just grrreeaaat!!!!!!!!!!!  I love all the techniques you have used.  I am loveing the needlelace.  I will be trying that.  Isn't it wonderful how we can all help each other learn a little something new.  But it seems I have too much thread and not enough time.
