My first original design, this quilt was made in response to a challenge using yoyos.  The tree was made with fabric that i scrunched when wet, then applied interfacing to the back to keep the shape. I ironed a little too long and slightly scorched the fabric folds......a little white puffy paint fixed the problem and gave even more definition to the trunk (gotta love little mistakes!). The "granny smith apples" are yoyos, hand appliqued to the tree.

Very creative and graphic. Those yo-yos give just the perfect pop of color. Nicely done.

This quilt is amazing for a first original design. I love your use of all black and white prints with that pop of lime! Your piece has a nicely balanced composition and caught my eye right away. Keep up the great work. Can't wait to see your second original! :0)

good composition and balance, nice simplification, strong "silhouette".  all things we get "graded" on at the art studio where I work :)
